People are hysterical and I think it just proves we need someone or something to regulate our collective online time. People need to step back from doomscrolling and shit.

Misandry exists. Whenever people claim it doesn't, they will always point to the past of systematic sexism (no voting rights etc). It's the same with racism, people will always point to the past. Fact is, misandry on an individual level exists and in a lot of cases in western countries is Systematic (divorce custody cases are a prime example). Unfortunately no. The boy reports the crime, and the Dutch DA decides what they think would be a good punishment. The Dutch DA can appeal after a sentence has been done, but only if it ends up being a sentence that is lower than the DA was asking for. The Dutch DA has gone harder after people tweeting mean words

Unfortunately it seems like the Texas shooting is more important than domestic stories. If the roles were reversed, it would have more coverage and the DA would go harder. It shouldn't really be a surprise though. Female on male rape still isn't technically classified as rape unless there is anal penetration :/

The Dutch Justice system has been the point of outrage for a few years already. I'd assume tomorrow there will be more outrage when the paper version comes out. In the Netherlands you usually get a few years prison (maximum sentence for this type of crime is 15 years) So only a few months Juvenile Detention for over-18 is something I've personally never seen before

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
