Realistically I know I should be thinking more along the lines of “how can THEY make my life better”, but subconsciously to me I guess I feel like they’re doing me a favor by responding instead

That’s actually a really good question, but I think if I had to pick I’d rather be good at approaching and bad at escalating. The opposite is my situation and I’m having to figure out how to get over an anxiety I’ve had my whole life, whereas if you’re good at approaching you’re already over the anxiety. That anxiety is usually what keeps people from getting better at escalation so Imo that person would get better pretty quickly if he kept going

Well people’s suggestions here are usually along the lines of finding hobbies and groups to go to - I already have a good amount of my time taken up from hobbies, climbing gyms or running groups - I already work out 1-2 times a day, and day game places like malls, downtown areas etc - for this one I feel like it just wouldn’t be appropriate as I’m not looking for anything serious immediately and for whatever success I do have I don’t want to risk leading people on Maybe I’m just overthinking eve…

Eh I’d agree but in my situation I wouldn’t say it’s always been like this, I never had much luck with girls until fairly recently. I only started improving on my looks when I got to college like 4 years ago, the biggest reason I’m good with the escalation is cause I went to a lot of parties during those years just to have fun with friends and always liked to dance both by myself and with girls so I’m not too scared of the physical aspect once there’s been a bit of talking.
