I mean, I think that depends on what you are talking about. The work liberal is different from political parties that call themselves liberal.

That’s probably why you came from a well off family. You don’t find a ton of poor people that are good with money.

They agreed to split rent evenly knowing it would be a recurring bill. Why would they just randomly start changing this arrangement?

No it isn’t. At all.

Why? They agreed on the split beforehand. Not only that, they are paying for same thing. Why should he have to pay more? If we were both buying a candy bar, should I have to pay 3x the amount you do just because I made better career choices?

They weren’t talking about everything though, just rent. A split they both agreed on. For some reason, the idiots in that thread feel that he has to pay more of the rent because he made better life choices. Why? Who the hell knows. They’re getting the same thing but for some reason they believe he should be charged 3x the amount she is.

It doesn’t really sound that consensual

Apparently there is more to this, namely an abusive element that seems far more important.

Women usually get better treatment in our criminal justice system (courts in particular). I think treating them as would treat any man doing the same things falls under that.

It’s technically 6 months but the state usually has no way of checking the birth date of the child. Typically any child under a year old is accepted.

Firstly, I’m talking in the context of court proceedings. I thought the fact that I referenced sentencing made that blatantly obvious. Second, no shit some women do that in other scenarios. There are cases where women state they have privilege because of their sex and those where they have societal privileges (i.e. lighter court sentencing) that discriminate against men. Both instances of these privileges being shunted are valid for this sub. What are you even arguing?

Women don’t stand up and declare “I am a woman! Therefore give me a lighter sentence!” They don’t “invoke” this privilege (or pass, if you will). The fact that this was denied to her makes it suitable for this sub. I fail to see how praising the fact that a terrible woman got a sentence equal to that of a terrible man is misogynistic in any way. If you truly believe that, I’d say you’re the real sexist here.

It’s a statistical fact that women almost always get lighter sentences for the same crime as a man. The fact that she didn’t get one is the entire point of the post.

In Texas, the only crimes capable of receiving the death penalty are capital murder, murder of a protected class (first responders, children <10, etc), or murder + an aggravating felony charge (i.e. murder during a robbery). There are two phases of a trial: deciding guilt/innocence, and deciding punishment. The death penalty has a very strict standard. If found guilty, the jury is asked three questions: Was it deliberate, would this person be a danger in the future, was it an act of self defense…

Yeah! We should praise this brave women for having the courage to kill her kids!/s Edit: “everyone who disagrees with me is an incel.” Bulletproof argument there.

Or it’s national news because she’s a state representative, slandered the guy, and called for charges to be brought up on him. Slander is against the law. Government officials breaking the law is always news.

Most definitely not the way she said it did. She is blatantly lying. Why are you so insistent on sifting through every comment and saying this?

“Our” implies possession. That’s the entire link to communism: it promotes government seizing everyone’s wealth and redistributing it. “We” does not imply possession.

It surprises me how little Reddit understands the concept of culpable mental states.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
