This reminds me of my experience watching Fleabag. Possibly one of the most honest portrayals of women I've ever seen. Complicated women who hurt others. Not on a pedestal. Not empty headed party girls. But women take is as aspirational rather than cautionary. Women identify with the shallow parts, but none of the regret or self reflection. It's not just the writing. It's how it's internalized by the audience.
