I would disagree that past was better. At one side you are right that there was better masculine/feminine balance but on the other side I think woman back then were still nagging and weighting man down, they just couldn't express themselves that much. I talked to her and I watched her actions as I believe they speak and even if it pains me. I will cut off contact to no contact or minimum. I don't want to shut off whole family just my mother.
