I don't know that that's necessarily the case. I'd imagine the laws vary from state to state, but my mom's about that fucked up, and after she killed my dad, the state (Washington, also pretty notorious for fucking men over in divorce/custody) didn't even try to take me or my sister away, and rejected my maternal grandparents' attempt to sue for custody.

I used to work as a janitor, and I've spoken with a number of janitors on this subject, because we who are or were in the industry tend to be a bit shocked by it. Stereotypes would lead one to assume that the womens' bathroom would be cleaner, but it's overwhelmingly worse. Don't get me wrong, both bathrooms get horrible, disgusting messes in them, but the womens' tended to have worse messes, more often. I agree with most of what you say, but I think slashing is pretty clearly attempted murder too. No one with any sense uses a weapon (even a blunt one) on someone they don't intend to kill. A lot of people have this ridiculous idea that if you don't slit their throat or hit an organ you won't kill someone, but once you run low enough on blood, it's all over. I think a lot of this is created by pathological women who our society indoctrinates into such a toxic state of antiself-esteem that they find someone who they know, at least unconsciously, will abuse them in order to indulge their inner ideas of worthlessness.
