1	Do not pass go Let there be no punishment to recant a false accusation before a conviction. So... in your system, you would expect to NEVER have a person recant their story after conviction, right? Let’s just get that straight. And the prosecution and defense would have presumably already shown all they had- of the defendant could prove he was somewhere else, he would have, right? 3	Do not pass go Issues: if you have a convicted accused, why would an accuser come forward? I don't know. It seems stupid to me. But maybe remorse? Guilt? A change of heart? But these people DO come forward and admit the lie occasionally, so it is something that we should have a legal framework for. The point is to remove as many penalties as possible, and to do it in law rather than just rely on DAs to choose to not prosecute it. 9	Do not pass go yeah it's a catch 22, I've thought about this, and the best I could come up with is this: A person who falsely accuses another of rape, should the accusation be proven false, should be sentenced for (as in have the sentence for actual rape be appended, since clearly you can't convict her of rape) the crime she was accusing the other of, plus whatever laws she was violating by telling the lies.
