OP posted this in twoxc and got an award TRP might be a sham but hypergamy is a problem for women in dating. I work in high finance and it is a very common problem. There are a lot of badass women in their thirties in finance who are single and complain about not having a great guy. The whining has been rather annoying especially the past couple of weeks. Here are three of the most common complaints - Doesn't earn as much as her - very common occurrence given these women earn low-mid six figures…

I had this option at one point and chose to pass. Zero regrets. Women who would earn more than me would most likely have the same work life balance as I do or even worse given that I work in finance. Two people who arrive late at night exhausted from being "on" all day sounds like a shit recipe for a healthy marriage. What's the use of getting married if you and your wife are bringing the same thing to the table? Marriage is to form a team of individuals who can come together with different stre…

I realised it. It started as curiosity, then I started to voice my opinion because I could see people being led astray and I used my example sometimes to illustrate the fact that there are things worth standing up to and fighting for but I have scaled back. People seem to be getting more toxic and I have enough negativity in my life without inviting more. Nevertheless, thank you for the comment kind stranger. Good luck

Arranged marriage. I am Indian

I wanted a wife who- Was from the same community Was traditional Had no past relationships Didn't drink, smoke or do drugs Had an artistic passion/hobby Wasn't into social media My wife also had similar expectations from her future husband and we hit it off pretty well. Spent some time "dating" before deciding to get married

I had a pretty big laundry list before I got married- No past relationships Teetotaler No smoking No drugs Intelligent Must have own passions and hobbies. A couple of them if same as me would be a bonus Must be okay with taking care of the house since I worked abysmal hours From the same community as me Reasonable spending habits Emotional maturity Rarely uses social media Childfree

I have been married for almost 9 years now. You will be surprised at how much thought and care goes into picking a potential partner in arranged marriage.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 06:31 AM
1

Lots of arranged marriages are happy and sexually fulfilling. And dating doesn't seem to work out too well does it? Thirdly, divorce is a thing. Why would you be stuck with your spouse? You seem to have some preconceived notions about what arranged marriages are like and your ignorance is tainting your judgement.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 04:45 AM
1

Are you sacrificing sexual fulfillment though? A normal married man with a normal wife is going to get laid far more in a year than a man who dates. In addition, the quality of said lays is going to be higher. And saving money was an afterthought which I added in my comment. The main takeaway was it takes out most of the negative aspects of dating and makes life far easier in general. You seem to have missed the point of my comment entirely

I do not understand how the BB for all translates to this scenario given that the entire premise of AFBB has been removed
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 05:43 AM
2

There is no AFBB, no issues about the past of a partner, no flakiness that is inherent in dating. Now that I think about it, it would also save a lot of money. Now the speculation- My extremely under-researched and unbacked-by-sources theory is that a lot of people spend a lot of time chasing after sex and by eliminating this entirely, there is a chance that at least some of those would turn their attention towards issues plaguing the society thereby increasing the pace of progress.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 04:55 AM
4

It eliminates a lot of issues that people face in dating provided both genders follow. Plus, I have seen too many brilliant minds fall behind due to dating and it's just a waste. Of course, it might not be a waste to them but it is to me. It's a 'hot take' after all

I don't have true knowledge of the Hindu religion either. It's a very vast subject. I was raised to understand that the principles we were taught were the right way to live. I never questioned if it was for religious reasons or not because they made sense to me. I explained the strengths already. The downside is that you don't get to live with your prospect before marriage - something which is possible in Western dating. So when it comes to living together and sex, you have to judge compatibilit…

I am a Hindu. I didn't say arranged marriage was a superior way of life I said I thought the way arranged marriage was carried out in our community was better than dating in the west. The reason I said this was that a lot of potential pitfalls and points of conflict are avoided. Matches are from the same community and typically family friends or friends of friends -> upbringing is very similar leading to similar views on a lot of important topics. It's also more efficient in that there are no ga…

Orthodox - I was raised in a pretty old fashioned Indian way - the men don't complain, they get things done - studies first then career then marriage, no drinking, smoking, drugs - that kind of way My belief system is a mix of the above teachings and stuff I have observed through the years. It's a mix of traditional and modern values.

Your Indian coworker seems to be a moron. From my understanding, inbreeding happens within families and people related by blood. People of the same caste aren't blood related. In my community for eg - even marriage among distant cousins isn't allowed let alone inbreeding There might be some communities who do that, I do not know. India has millions of communities. Who knows what they all are doing? Communities are different from castes. Caste is a pretty nuanced topic and I have a pretty good id…

No you aren't forced to pick. You can stay single. In the second case, they might relax criteria, start looking outside the community etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/22 05:45 AM
10

From what I understand of TRP, it advocates promiscuity in men. That to me is a flaw. The second flaw is that if you want a wife who doesn't have a high n count, then she is going to have higher standards than the average woman and you aren't going to meet them. Women like studs is a generalization - maybe it's true for the dating market but it isn't true for marriage. And thirdly, it paints a rather pessimistic view of what women are like and in my experience a lot of women are great individual…

Not quite. My community is pretty strict and orthodox, premarital relationships, dating, drinking, smoking are not allowed. You can do them, but it's a tight knit community where everyone knows everyone and you cannot marry within the community because people will refuse to marry you. So when the time comes to get married, the parents simply present available options. Then you choose to connect with someone, have conversations, decide if it's worth moving forward or if it won't work out. So it i…

I believe that the arranged marriage in the way it was done in my community is superior. But arranged marriage is done differently by different communities and a lot of them are terrible - forced marriages, dowry, no time to get to know each other etc.

I am going to paste my answer to a similar question asked before. Why am I on this sub? I am Indian and was raised in a very conservative orthodox household and community. I have been happily married for eight years - I met and married my wife through arranged marriage as is the norm in my community. I was quite blissfully ignorant of the whole dating market scene inspite of having lived in New York for the past few years . Then my wife and I took part in the search for a partner for one of my w…

The top comment says that when you realise you left a good thing just to be with a sexier woman and you will realise how good you had it when she treats you the same, you will regret this. A job with less pressure often pays lesser though. I know many single men and women make food for themselves after arriving home tired - I was one of those. Isn't marrying a person that lets the couple as a unit deal with the world better as a team a better way than reducing your earning potential?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/22 01:42 PM
3

But what's the problem if I married a woman who wanted to stay at home? My wife wanted to follow her passion and be a freelancer. I didn't force a career woman to give up her career and marry me. I married someone who willingly told me that I would have to take care of the finances and she would take care of the house and follow her passion.

Responses are interesting. When I got married, I didn't want a wife who was career oriented. There were a few reasons for this: A) I earned a decent amount and was going to increase my income by a substantial amount in the coming years (back then I was 26) B) I worked in consulting back then and was going to pivot to finance which has even more terrible working hours. Finance also pays pretty well which means that I didn't need a second income C) One of the things I had noticed with career orien…

The first point is wrong. If you as an individual have the desired skills and a resume to back them up, it doesn't matter what the fuck the employer thinks, you can leave always, especially with the job market being the way it is. I believe that you should give an interview or two once every six months. Just to know your market value. In addition, married people often have a very legitimate excuse they can give to not stay late/work ridiculous hours etc. Single people are more likely to be left …

Everyone with options is gonna be picky. Look at candidates who get into all of H/S/W, look at the cream of the crop that has offers from several firms at once, even look at the demands of the most desirable guys when it comes to long-term relationships. When demand is more than the supply, it's a suppliers market and the supplier is gonna take you for a ride.

In my community, premarital sex is frowned upon. Irrespective of gender. There is a pretty good chance you won't get married to someone from the community if you have had a prior relationship. As a virgin who also married a virgin, I am curious about what she said about intimacy changing. What changed? My wife and I took time to get comfortable with each other, lot of flirting, lot of touching, lot of conversations, lot of communication.

I am Indian and was raised in a very conservative orthodox household and community. I was quite blissfully ignorant of the whole dating market scene inspite of having lived in New York for the past few years . Then my wife and I …

Don't think so. A lot of them are too obsessed with social status or are prestige whores. Many come from rich families and have social circles of peers from similarly rich families. They date, hang around and marry in those circles largely There will be exceptions probably

I have an observation to make here. I work in high finance - (this is relevant). The number of women is much less than the number of men. At my level and above me, the difference is even more. The men who are unmarried and above me are a) committed to bachelor life and career b) engaged to second/third/nth wife c) married for several years The women who I work with/are above me in the hierarchy are extremely good at what they do - they have to be because of how male dominant finance is. Exactly. Not a lot of people realise this. You will find a lot of men especially those who work in high pressure industries and take critical decisions on a day-to-day basis have this streak of narcissism as well as conviction about the soundness of their decision-making. They don't want outside opinion and are averse/resistant to it. They often describe their ideal woman as "pleasant to be around" which can be translated to "not argumentative, let's me pull the shots with minimal questioning, I don't ha…

When I was in the arranged marriage scene, I had made a structured process that I would follow to understand compatibility etc. Questions to ask, things to observe and so on. The first time I met my now wife was for a couple of hours and I did not remember a single thing of what I had prepared nor did I manage to observe a lot. Knew within half an hour of conversation that I wanted to marry her.

Sansa Ramsay marriage was the beginning of the fall wasn't it In the books Petyr is the lord of the Vale, sitting at the top of the Eyrie which has never been taken. I disagree. Petyr Baelish in the books is not moronic enough to give Sansa to Ramsay Bolton. So that and everything after is just terrible because it is inconsistent with a character you have shown to be five steps ahead of others at the beginning. A Feast for Crows really highlights how ingeniously he has maneuvered himself into a fantastic position. The Vale has never been taken. He controls the entire Vale right now. That is not an incentive to max out your potential. Quite the opposite. Why would you want someone who is with you because you have resources? Marriage is about building a life together. I would be annoyed too. Especially if starting the anime was what he was very much into - more so than you. It is not about him remaining spoiler free it's about you not being able to get the most from the show. My wife and I watch One Piece together. I had already watched all episodes that had aired and she agreed just because she saw I really enjoyed it and I had said that if she wanted to I would be happy to re-watch with her. New York has a problem with too many women competing for relatively few men. One of my colleagues and a good friend is very popular among women. I have been to bars with him - it's quite unreal how many women throw themselves at him. Guy showed me his tinder once - he had over 700 likes and hundreds of messages
/r/PurplePillDebate28/03/22 12:08 PM
2

Maybe they think that since they found you attractive all women would. It's a weird thing I have noticed - I have a wedding ring. Sometimes when I get hit on, the tone almost feels as if they have already seen it yet decided to approach anyway. A couple of women just shrugged like a 'so what' when I pointed it out to them. Maybe it's a subconscious thing of 'she finds him desirable, he must be desirable' and vice versa - I find him desirable, so would she
/r/PurplePillDebate27/03/22 01:28 PM
2

Oh. Ah yes, you would definitely have to adjust your priorities a bit and devote time to your career accordingly if a thriving love life is what you want
/r/PurplePillDebate27/03/22 01:03 PM
1

I suppose this is true somewhat in the western dating world. I feel that if the introverted/shy man in question is indeed desirable then he would be approached by women. Whether women approach a man or not is not necessarily dependent on their SMV is it? It is dependent on their personality. Extrovert and friendly women would definitely make a move I feel.

Fair enough. Many could come to regret the fact that they spent their time playing video games instead of doing something that could add more value to their life. That imo is a poor mentality to have - don't take decisions you don't will regret later. However, how much of that regret is because other people who didn't waste their time playing video games are ahead of them and how much of it is genuine remorse for not having done something to 'add to their identity' so to speak? As for the second…

I see. I get what you are saying but I think wasting time doing something that adds no value to your life but is something you want to do is infinitely better than doing something you don't want to do but which other people would find impressive
/r/PurplePillDebate27/03/22 07:20 AM

There is a saying - Time you enjoy wasting isn't wasted. Why would these men look back and regret something that made them happy? Life is way too short as it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/03/22 07:17 AM

They absolutely should. But it's their choice isn't it? What to you is wasting time might be the precious two hours to them that they need in order to keep their sanity.

We aren't competitive to impress other men. Most competitive people I know, including myself love the feeling of winning/ accomplishment/ being better at something than most others. It also is a good way to test your own ceiling- how good can you be? This does have downsides though. The most balanced competitive people I know compete with their past selves and not others

It's quite common in my community - in the western world though I suppose it is a lot less common. The reasons could be many - my wife was a virgin since she wanted to wait till marriage, many women are religious / raised that way etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/03/22 05:22 AM
1

I assume you mean incel. I see what you mean but I stand by my opinion nonetheless. The main reason is that my community believes in having one partner for life. Incels from what I understand desire relationships and sex but do not get them. Men from my community are brought up with a different mindset. You cannot be an incel if it is your decision to wait.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/03/22 09:24 AM

I do not tell people how to live and I keep my opinions to myself. There have been many events in my life which led me to forming the below opinion. Drinking and smoking have no advantage whatsoever, nor does casual sex and the party culture. I regard all of the above as debauchery and anyone who partakes in the above as having poor impulse control.

I did see a few posts referring to what seemed like average men as "scrotes". Seems quite derogatory. I do not think a supposed HVM is going to appreciate having the majority of his gender slandered. About the racism - yeah I noticed it. Hard not to being an Indian.

I suppose it doesn't make much sense if you are very wealthy although being married does provide a lot of benefits. In addition, rich people who have actually earned their wealth are usually good at reading people and I doubt they would marry someone who they felt would cheat or divorce them and take their money. And finally, marrying a woman isn't a decision taken just with the brain. Emotions are rarely governed by logic. The best way imo is to marry first and then become rich.

That was a challenging read - not because of the content but whoever wrote that was clearly absent in a few essential writing classes. I think it would be less of a high-value thing and more of a how much your partner wants you thing. For me, the biggest turn-on is my wife wants me and I want her. And our sex-life is great. I have no need for porn. A man is high-value just because he doesn't watch porn in a relationship? I imagine a 'high-value' man would resort to porn/leave if he felt unsatisfied.

I hope your mindset changes. Nothing wrong with a few of the things OP mentioned, but the overall impression is that of a woman who is almost subservient to the husband. It's good to stand up for yourself lest you get taken advantage of. I married a virgin woman and I would never have married her if she was anything like OP has described. As a man, I want a wife who is capable of thinking for herself and who is willing to challenge and take decisions for herself. Not someone who would blindly fo…

Of course. Traditional women usually have a list of dealbreakers just as long if not more as a traditional man looking for a traditional wife. One of the reasons my wife and I hit it off so well was that we both had a long list of dealbreakers and they were very similar. Which meant that there was a lot in common when it came to our value system. It's a lot easier to open up when you know the other person feels the same way you do. Both of us wanted a partner with no past, non-alcoholic, non-smo…

This is a pretty insightful comment. My wife and I were married in an arranged marriage setting and the reason talks proceeded further was because I had no past neither did my wife and a partner with a past was a dealbreaker for both of us. Why that was is a matter that would require significant introspection but it is a combination of being raised in orthodox households, the belief in soulmates reinforced by culture / media (both of us are avid readers) and not wanting a partner with poor impul…
