Oh I’m talking 50-100 milligrams to start. The intention is to not feel anything from it, it’s more about rebooting things. I went about a week of thinking maybe I was wasting money, before all of the sudden realizing that I wasn’t miserable and crying driving to and from work. Then shortly after, my coworkers started commenting that I seemed like my mood was improving. I spent a lot more time and energy actually processing my emotions too.

I complete understand that. I dabbled recreationally many years ago and I know some of the experiences I had in my past wouldn’t have helped me when I was at my worst. But microdosing a small amount every few days was life changing. There is starting to be a lot more research done in to how and why it works, and it’s pretty interesting if you’re in to that kind of thing.

I don’t know how this will be received here, but I started a microdosing regiment of psilocybin for a few months and it 1000% pulled my away from the ledge. I went from being generally closed off and distant with friends and family to being open and began repairing a lot of the relationships that I pushed away from while miserably married. Definitely not for everyone but it really helped me. Did it for about two months, and haven’t done it since, about 8 months now, and still feel good.

By realizing the person that I loved is not the person she is now. I know that sounds like a cop out answer, but she knew she wanted out long before telling you. She may have been faking it for a year or more, but she hasn’t been the woman you fell in love with for a while. Stay strong brother, it will be hard, but you can heal. It will get easier, you just need to be ready to put in the work for yourself. It’s okay to be sad and it’s okay to cry but at some point you’ll be able to look at the w…

My ex was hooked on all social media, which is ultimately by design, I’d argue. But toward the end, she was very much hooked on tik tok, and more specifically, one of the many pyramid scheme/gambling things that were available. Any of you fellas know what ring bombs are? To my knowledge, my ex dumped at least a grand in to cheap costume jewelry that she was convinced was worth way more.

I don’t remember if it was a study or a poll but it’s been said that women have checked out at least a year before they announce they want a divorce. That being said, don’t let hindsight keep you from looking forward. I know it’s rough now, but you’ll pull through this. And as silly as it sounds, this group of anonymous strangers on the internet is about the most supportive group I’ve ever seen. We’re here for you brother.

I can only speak on what my attorney told me. A separation agreement is not required in my state, but by both parties agreeing to it and signing it, according to my attorney, it eliminates the need for any kind of mediation down the road. And also when the day comes to actually file for divorce, it makes the process a lot easier. My state requires a year and a day from separation date. Obviously, first suggestion would be to talk to an attorney. I was going to try and do the agreement myself, bu…

Jesus! You definitely have me beat! Those are some major screwups! I really don’t understand that level of incompetence, especially at their price. I don’t know if my ex has retained, but I really dread how bad it’s going to get if I have to wait on two separate attorneys to do there BS. I just want to be done and out and moving on with my life yet here I am.

I feel your pain brother. My attorney was 2.5 weeks late in finishing my separation agreement, and when she got me the draft, it was loaded with typos. So I had to go through and proof read her stuff, then send it back and now I’m waiting again. I’ve already blown past 2 tentative move out dates. My STBXW and I are, fortunately, on civil terms and as far as she knows, I’m just trying to finish up work stuff before moving out of the area. Which is somewhat true, but mostly it’s just waiting on an…

Over the 8 years we were together, she put on 80 pounds, stopped caring about health and closer to the end hygiene, started binge drinking, started expecting everyone to cater to her/walk on eggshells around her, and became angry and depressed. She also became very obsessed with image and material things. Basically became her mom, except her mom doesn’t drink. I stuck it out longer than anyone should have but I made those vows. I think that was always her, like most everyone has said. But rather…

My STBXW and I talked about just dividing things up ourselves but after talking to several people that have been through bad divorces, I decided to bite the bullet and hire an attorney to write up the agreement for me. They know the legal ins and outs. And in talking things through, they brought up many things that never crossed my mind. My attorney is writing up a separation agreement that divides things up and as long as it’s signed and all agreed upon, I’m told that, in NC, when the day to fi…

Gym, DIY stuff, if you like animals you can volunteer at your local animal shelter, model trains, woodworking. The sky is really the limit.

I agree that in the long term this is really more of a relief than anything. But in the moment, that feeling off loss and rejection that comes from the person you vowed your life to just giving up is staggering. It can be the worst pain felt up to that point. But you’re also right when you say “thank God you only took money from me.” It’s definitely a bad business decision but can be rebuilt.

Reading your post was almost like reading my own story. I really relate to a lot of what you’re going through, I’m still fresh in the process. Just waiting on my attorney to finish separation our separation agreement then I’ll be uprooting my life. In my case, I consider myself lucky enough to have a very close friend that went through a vicious divorce so I’ve leaned on him, as well as started talking more with my family. Unfortunately, everyone that I’m close with lives several hours away so I…

According to my attorney, yes. A year and a day to be specific. No real way around it either. What my attorney suggested to me was to draft a separation agreement that basically divides things up prior to the divorce filing, it streamlines the actual process of filing.

It sounds like I’m in a similar situation as you are. We’re in a no fault divorce state and ours will most likely be uncontested divorce. But my STBXW has asked several times if we can do the divorce without a lawyer. That comment alone made me seek one out. That immediately made me think that she is already working with one and is trying to screw me over. I’m just a lower-middle/working class dude so the cost scared the crap out of me, but I feel like it will be worth it once it’s all said an d…
