Wait, is this feminist admitting that the man's opinion is in any way important when deciding the outcome of any possible pregnancy? I thought it was "my body, my choice". In which case it should be irrelevant what the fuckbuddy thinks.

"You are too strong as a woman and I do not like that" said no man ever. "You're a bitch and are trying really hard to be a man, but have terrible ideas as to what it means to be a man, so you are just being an asshole thinking that it somehow makes you powerful. It's tiring, I don't want to have a dick-measuring contest with my girlfriend every day. I'm worn out, I'm leaving." is something else entirely

It's why people say you need both sides of the story. One side tends to be quite skewed. Especially the ones who bitch about it on social media.

Equality is you wanting what you want, them wanting what they want and both looking for a match. If it doesn't fit, it doesn't fit. Keep looking.

Duh. Some women do fight on the front line though. And as we see with the current war, supply lines are also critical. We work best together. Dont see this as further divisionary tactics. One example from my home country: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Skinnider Badass woman. They do exist, but are absolute statistical outliers.

In the context of this thread, it is relevant. My post was not taken down, this post is the only post I've ever made here. I have no idea what you're referring to, but dragging other discussions with other people over here to tell us how terrible we are is definitely not appropriate. Got nothing to do with me, mate.

Reacting badly when "expecting hypicrisy" is literally projecting. It's a regression to a trope. Latest when the accused clarifies their stance, such a response becomes invalid and untenable. Assuming it's a good-faith discussion, which this apparently wasn't.

In the thread I got blasted in there were plenty of women posting that casual sex is damaging because there's an innate emotional connection involved that leaves a mark. And for those who don^'t have an emotional connection, yeah there's more wrong with you and you should fix that. I really wanted to ask if I was also allowed to post the same thing because 50 years ago, ti was women saying that and men saying it wasn't true. Now it's the opposite way around. Yet men from 50 years ago are still h…

Part of it is the word "Blame" and how it's used. It has become synonymous with "responsible" which is completely wrong. "Blame" is who has caused a situation. "Responsibility" is fixing the situation regardless of who caused it. The fact that people use "blame" to mean both "blame" and "responsibility" makes people think that if my childhood is to blame for my behaviour, then I'm not responsible. That's wrong and leads to mass narcissism. You can't feel shame if you're deny responsibility. Beca…

No, your post contained a lot of vitriol and stupid shit. Don't pollute the sub over there with that kind or trash. Being an asshole is not being "candid". It's still being an asshole. I never asked anyone to back me up. where the hell did you get that from, you're no better than the people I was arguing with on the other side. Go away the lot of you, honestly.
/r/MensRights05/01/22 08:12 PM

No it's not because it's in no way directed at her person. It's directed at a given type of behaviour. It's not even close to be criticising. It's pointing out that people have preferences. That sentence is in itself not judging at all, it's a factual statement.
/r/MensRights05/01/22 08:08 PM

Argument was not with the OP. Pay more attention.
/r/MensRights05/01/22 08:07 PM

Yeah, don't do that my man. That's stupid behaviour.
/r/MensRights05/01/22 07:54 PM

But I never criticised her. Not once. I simply stated my personal preference with regard to long-term partners. Show me where I criticised her about anything. Without criticism of her person (the definition mentions criticising people) or punishment (being removed from my possible pool of future mates doesn't cut the mustard as punishment my friend) there is no slut-shaming. And bear in mind, I was accused of slut-shaming the OP, not the person I argued with.
/r/MensRights05/01/22 07:51 PM
2

Example? How is saying I wouldn't be impressed ambiguous? Do you find it a fair assumption that I'm lowering her value as a person by saying that? That seems like quite a stretch for me.
/r/MensRights05/01/22 07:49 PM
1

That's a shitty position you have there, though. You obviously haven't read the whole discussion because you're also completely misrepresenting what happened. The person I argued with (people actually) are NOT the OP.
/r/MensRights05/01/22 07:43 PM

I'm not requiring anyone to like or agree. That's the crux. I'm requiring someone who doesn't agree or like to not personally attack me and lie about what I said becaue they don't agree or like what I said. That's a bit different. I can deal with disagreement, I can deal with dislike, doesn't bother me. What I don't like is the lack of personal integrity to try to strawman someone into some ideological corner which has bugger all to do with what they said. That's shitty. And yes, I'll judge and …

I agree that filtering the stuff here is paramount. But that's true everywhere these days. You didn't say it was silly in your opinion, though. You said it was childish and immature. I disagree with that statement completely.
/r/MensRights05/01/22 07:38 PM
2

No, but we all agree that the price falls when a car has multiple owners, so the comparison is kind of null and void.
/r/MensRights05/01/22 07:26 PM
3

Nobody's requiring you to relate any different to that. Yet you seem unable to admit that there are people (men and women) who DO place value on not having been having semi-anonymous sex on a regular basis. You and I are clearly very different. And I'm fine with that, why aren't you?
/r/MensRights05/01/22 07:26 PM
3

Except I don't get impressed by guys who sleep with lots of women either. And "chad" is something only used by teenagers, no?
/r/MensRights05/01/22 07:24 PM
4

I agree that even if I had said it, it's still a perfectly valid opinion to hold. That wasn't the bone of contention though. It was the blatant misrepresentation of what I actually DID say that got me going. I need to learn to just let it go.
/r/MensRights05/01/22 07:14 PM
7

Explain please?
/r/MensRights05/01/22 07:09 PM
5

Why exactly?
/r/MensRights05/01/22 07:04 PM
5

But that's different to flat-out claiming I "literally said" something I didn't. "not impressed" and "thinking less" are not equivalent, sorry. The person I argued with was NOT the OP though. There were plenty of others saying that the hoe phase was not recommended. I was by far not the only dissenting voice. It was WHY I said I was dissenting that struck a chord. That's the telling part.
/r/MensRights05/01/22 07:03 PM
9

Good point.
/r/MensRights05/01/22 07:00 PM
2

Well, hence my question to "review" me trying to make that clear, as you say. None of that excuses projecting hate onto people. The responsibility is equally distributed on both sides of the discussion. So in essence, while true, it's kind of irrelevant to the point at hand, no?
/r/MensRights05/01/22 06:59 PM
-2

The relative truth or not of that is irrelevant to the questions at hand.
/r/MensRights05/01/22 06:56 PM
3

OK
/r/MensRights05/01/22 06:54 PM
1

It is allowed, you are literally doing it rn Then you must also be the opinion that me expressing my personal opinion is in no way tantamount to "slut-shaming"i.e. that I have the right to express my personal preferences.
/r/MensRights05/01/22 06:48 PM
1

Don't see how this has anything to do with men's rights OK, I'm not trying to convince you if you can't see it.
/r/MensRights05/01/22 06:48 PM
6

Person I had a discussion with was not the OP.
/r/MensRights05/01/22 06:43 PM
9

In fairness, what else are they good for? They're a training-ground for arguments.
/r/MensRights05/01/22 06:42 PM
6

Well, I don't think it's OK for a man to sling it about. So at least for me, there's no double-standard.
/r/MensRights05/01/22 06:41 PM
6

Well, don't you think that allowing men to have personal preferences on who they enter a long-term relationship with based on sexual activity should be allowed? Because that's what the discussion was about. Anyone here going to marry Mia Khalifa thinking they're going to have a harmonious long-term monogamous relationship working towards a common long-term goal? Yeah, didn't think so.
/r/MensRights05/01/22 06:40 PM
0

Well, the distinction I made was strictly in the relationship context. Out of that, I don't care either.
/r/MensRights05/01/22 06:20 PM
3

Ah, the shout louder to win tactic? Nope, not willing to do that. I'd rather take the downvotes as a trophy than do that. I don't think yout text would have had any different outcome, but I like the way you formulated it.
/r/MensRights05/01/22 06:18 PM
6

Well, "I don't like it" and "not a good thing" are clearly not the same sentiment. I presume we agree there, right? Yet she claimed they were "literally" the same thing.
/r/MensRights05/01/22 06:10 PM
9

No, but this is in response to someone who's already openly discussing whether to do it or not, so it's a completely different context. Even the differentiation I made between having like multiple FWB relationships and accepting every cock on offer fell on deaf ears. I mean, they're clearly the same thing, right? smh. OTOH, I think it becomes rather clear quite quickly in a relationship how the person was previously. It's fairly easily recognisable tbh.
/r/MensRights05/01/22 06:09 PM
8

Well, for me, "I would not be impressed" is less harsh than "I wouldn't want to date" because it's not a 100% KO criteria, it's just not going to influence my opinion in a positive sense. But hey, nuance and internet.... ya know...?
/r/MensRights05/01/22 06:06 PM

You'd be surprised. I'm active there (for obvious reasons). There are actually some good logical debates in there.

OK, was just afraid people were going to give knee-jerk "feminism bad" responses. Thanks. Do you think I backpedaled?
/r/MensRights05/01/22 04:32 PM
18

OK, so I'm not out of line with seeing how she's engaging in some major hypocrisy by claiming that my preferences are somehow offensive and women's are to be ignored, right? i.e. the old feminist trope of "Women can do no wrong", right? Holding men to standards that in her worldview simply don't apply to women yet claiming the opposite?

Sounds more like his personality than intelligence to be fair. Still find "feel threatened" feels weird in the context.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/21 03:37 PM

Yes they do. A man and a woman should be together when their relative imbalances in different areas match what they want in a partner. A man will typically thrive when able to have some level of authority and responsibility, hence "submissive" (in certain areas). A woman will typically thrive when she feels attractive and taken care of. Both of these are imbalances, but they should more or less balance out. Equality is about mathing imbalances, not eradicating them. This is a big problem I have …

"Most men desire a power imbalance in a relationship" They do though. I don't think anyone is in denial about that. Men work better when they can assume authority and responsibility. That works best in situations of power imbalances. But you know what, power can be measured on so many axes, it has to be a give-and-take. Where a man has something to offer a woman (that she actually wants), so the woman should have something to offer a man (that he actually wants). This used to be common knowledge…

Well, some say that a woman judges her worth in part by the partner they can attract. So by going for the best man she can find, she effectively is improving hereslf. This is of course utterly false. Her worth is independent of her partner, but men and women apparently deal with this in different ways. Men are far less impressed by "status" of women then the other way around. All these women with career and money surprised that men aren't rushing to date them don't understand that. What attracts…

Wanting what you want is fine as long as you take the consequences like an adult. Wanting something and then whining at "society" that you're unable to get it is just childish and stupid. Adding to that is that a lot of men who aren't bothered by this are actually NOT great men. They're willing to treat everything as a game, lie cheat and manipulate themselves to get what they want. Women are rigging the game and it's producing outcomes they themselves claim they don't want and then cry "Where a…

Well, it has to do with having a mate that can physically dominate you/protect you (Depending on your psychology). It's innate. Yet modern society tries to paint it as politically incorrect. What % of the audience for "Fifty shades of Grey" were women? That should tell you a bit about the innate desires of women.

That's confirmation bias. You're basically saying those women who are happy are going to be the focus of my statistics and those view those two things as the same man, therefore women vire those things as the same man. Depending on where you are, financial issues upon death of your partner. If you share costs for things in life, the death of your partner can be financially disastrous.
