What a weird law…it’s like extra compassionate for women, but with the assumption that it’s the 50s/they have no agency in their lives.

Idk…I think if you asked 20 randoms on the street, at least 80% would believe you have to hit someone for it to be assault

And most people don’t realize that raising the heel over your head preparing to hit someone with it is also assault. It’s battery if she actually hits him.

Yeah, I know. Just seems dumb/evidence of over-inflated egos. It’s also that the subs they consider “hate Reddits” aren’t even close to what I’d describe as that.

True. If the first thing you do is let someone know that you’ve got money, then you’ll never be sure that they’re actually into you.

Oh I’m relaxed. I don’t really care if that person I don’t know halfway around the world is dead. I’m just saying that people do die from sleeper holds, especially when they struggle like that/mostly unconscious ppl don’t twitch.

Right, like I said, the winner didn’t do anything wrong
/r/PussyPassDenied25/10/19 07:47 PM

Oh no, I’m not saying he did anything wrong, just that the idiot who started it may be a little more than passed out. He held him for several seconds after passing out, so although it could be lots of things, ppl do die from that. It’s just the weird rigid position of his hand when he hits the ground followed by the jerking of the legs looks a lot like postmortem spasms (instantaneous rigidity).
/r/PussyPassDenied25/10/19 07:39 PM

Passed out might be a bit of a stretch given the jerking motion of his legs. There’s a reason cops are taught not to do that to ppl.

This is that cop in Dallas who walked into the wrong apartment/supposedly thinking it was her own, and shot the guy who lived there/supposedly thinking he was an intruder.

Did you watch the whole thing where she starts screaming “NIIIIIIIICCCCCKKKKK!!!!!!”? My point is that it’d be funny if that were the case because she clearly thinks that he’d be interested in helping her out.

I’d bet money nick is the one who called the cops. Edit: it’s the way he hesitates when he says “some people,” the first time, and then later when he tells her that nick is there. “My ex is trying to real into my truck,” then staring out the window like Jim halpert.

I think it comes down to whether or not you consider her throwing in that her boss is “pervy,” rises to the level of trying to play the pussy pass or not. It’s definitely leaning in that direction, but I don’t think it goes that far/I’m with you.

I feel like the coworker he found out from was the guy she was cheating with. How would he know? They’re both supposed to be at work

....abortions are legal and safe haven drop offs exist at every hospital and fire station in the country. This still happened. She had the options, and she chose murder instead. Is your point really that this sort of thing wouldn’t happen with legal abortions and safe haven drop offs? Because IT HAPPENED. Wtf kind of logic is this?

Hopefully this will result in this guy also having backing to get the kind of lawyer that will file injunctions and sue/appeal to higher courts. The only hope is that it's Texas, and our I don't believe our Supreme Court will uphold this insanity. It's a Pandora's box. If you want to get to the real slippery slope of it: if children can give consent for this, then they can give consent for anything.

That's fine, and I didn't mind him wanting me to stop smoking...it's the term "get clean," and the rampant ignorance (or intellectual dishonesty) involved in using that phrase when referring to marijuana that bugged me. It's not even that so much as the fact that I'd respected his intellect up to that point, and he was apparently coming from the Reefer Madness point of view, which is propaganda/not to be trusted if someone's actually intelligent. When someone who I believe to be smart proves the…

Ehh, in my experience, this kind of interaction just leads to you, the patient, being less open and forthright. Once I had one tell me I needed to "get clean," referring to pot...it was downhill from there.

The part with the dad in Utah who was the primary caregiver for his new baby, and had her adopted out from under him b/c he had to file like 5 things with the state for his parental rights 24+ hours before the mother signs he adoption papers, and she only gave him a few hours notice. That was the most fucked up thing.....he was so heartbroken..

I'm fairly in my right mind, and I can't imagine how you're not entitled to defend yourself by any means necessary against an armed assailant in your own home. "You used too much force," is insane considering the speed with which these things happen. There was obviously a struggle if he got the burglar's knife. As the actual victim in this kind of situation, you have no way of knowing how far the burglar is willing to go, and it's also insane for some magistrate to be able to dictate how much fo…

I'm with you. It's just a different way of looking at it. I'm pretty confident that if cops didn't chase gas thieves here, gas theft would skyrocket. Most ppl in the US are just good/law-abiding, but there is a significant portion of the population waiting for a corner to cut.

Well, the cop one I had in mind specifically was one that happened Britain over the summer. One officer approaching a suspect's car, suspect tries to run him down, 2nd officer puts his cruiser in the path of the criminal/saves his partner's life, then gets suspended for making such a dangerous move without the proper training. Not really in the same vain I guess, but it's just kind of counter-productive to work like that.
/r/MensRights07/02/17 03:05 PM

Feelings may not be the right word, but I've definitely read plenty of stories over the years of ppl getting in trouble for hurting home invaders and cops getting suspended for doing the right thing. "We can't blame the home invader for invading a home, they need to eat too," or some such nonsense.
