could we all stop using buzzwords? The problem is these aren't "buzz words", they are labels. Broadly defined. Which make it easy for people to be lumped into, so they can then be held against them. | /r/MensRights | 20/03/19 08:38 PM
If it can happen to Johnny Depp, it can happen to youIt happened to me. | /r/MensRights | 20/03/19 08:33 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleThis is it 100%. | /r/MensRights | 17/03/19 08:57 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleSo ridiculous. Any job or promotion should be based on qualifications and experience. That's how the job is done best. | /r/MensRights | 17/03/19 08:25 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleYou are a joke. | /r/MensRights | 17/03/19 12:07 AM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleFor sure. Yeah we're entering a society where men and women won't be able to work together anymore. It's so crazy. | /r/MensRights | 16/03/19 12:17 AM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleIt's ridiculous. She also had no reason to be afraid for her job, so I don't see it, in this case, as her protecting her job. I see it as pure discrimination against me. | /r/MensRights | 15/03/19 09:18 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleIt's in the post. | /r/MensRights | 15/03/19 12:04 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleI appreciate your comment, and I'm sorry you've had to endure some of the things you have. I certainly know this is a small population of people (not just women). I'm glad to hear you would speak to your coworkers and not pull something like what this individual did to me. I never thought someone would do something like this, especially being in the helping profession. Some people are capable of some really vindictive stuff. I wish you had been on my team instead! | /r/MensRights | 14/03/19 11:27 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleIt's unbelievable. I still can't believe people I trusted and worked side by side with for a year and a half would do something like this. No more trusting coworkers. | /r/MensRights | 14/03/19 04:07 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleI wish I had an answer to that. | /r/MensRights | 14/03/19 02:57 AM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleThat's exactly it! I had no idea it was like this when I started in this field. I'm quite terrified now! | /r/MensRights | 13/03/19 02:08 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleLife, huh? I'm sure they will too. Thank you. | /r/MensRights | 13/03/19 02:06 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleThat's actually a great idea. | /r/MensRights | 13/03/19 02:05 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleThis is certainly not an isolated incident. It is happening, and it is getting worse. I don't believe it's just women, more social justice warriors, and I believe it's only a small percentage of women, but that small percentage is having a big affect. It will cause a lot of issues for men. I was actually suicidal last month. A few months ago my gf and I broke up, she took the dog and moved back in with her mom. So I held onto our apartment for a few months in case we worked things out and she co… | /r/MensRights | 13/03/19 01:18 AM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleThat's the funny thing. I was never intending to change anyone's mind about anything; just looking to express my opinion, which is not okay. But I completely agree with you. I have learned my lesson. | /r/MensRights | 13/03/19 01:12 AM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleIt is such a shame that it has come to this. I'm sorry you're in that situation. | /r/MensRights | 13/03/19 01:01 AM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleMan, I live in Canada haha | /r/MensRights | 13/03/19 12:59 AM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleYeah I'm grateful to be off this fucking "team". | /r/MensRights | 13/03/19 12:59 AM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleAgreed! | /r/MensRights | 13/03/19 12:47 AM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleI disagree, unfortunately. He's seen it before where even if a white man won a discrimination case, he was unable to find employment afterwards. Word gets out. People don't want to hire you because you are ignoring your privilege. I wish this wasn't the case. | /r/MensRights | 13/03/19 12:44 AM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleUnbelievable. Any mere suggestion that men get discriminated against, even if there are facts to back it up, makes you sexist. I think there is a belief among this group of women (it's certainly a small percentage of women, but there are still a lot of them) that men can't be discriminated against, which in and of itself, is discriminatory. But of course they would never see it that way. I'm sorry this happened to you. | /r/MensRights | 13/03/19 12:42 AM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleI thought so too. I didn't see anything wrong with this. I believe there is a difference between saying "let's look into hiring another male" and "don't hire another female." but that all depends on who you're saying it in front of. | /r/MensRights | 13/03/19 12:39 AM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleThat would be wonderful! Perhaps one day. I'd need more education. And financial support. But it's a good idea! | /r/MensRights | 13/03/19 12:37 AM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleSo I know you think there is more, and this is one of the reasons I am having such a hard time with this. Because yeah, there should be more than this. It is unbelievable that this is the whole situation. But from my perspective and what I know, it is. | /r/MensRights | 13/03/19 12:27 AM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleThere is no more to the story. There really isn't. At least not as far as I know. I really believe this young lady made up her mind about me the moment she met me, and everything I said and did went through a filter she had. And my manager as well had very strong opinions about men so when this list was presented to her, I don't think she handled it fairly. I want to make a few things clear, though. I am not suggesting someone shouldn't be offended by the things I've said. So when I say other fe… | /r/MensRights | 13/03/19 12:25 AM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleGeeze. I'm sorry this happened to you. That's so awful!! | /r/MensRights | 13/03/19 12:09 AM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleThat's exactly what I am doing. Thank you for your response! | /r/MensRights | 13/03/19 12:00 AM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleI had no idea about any of this when entering the field. Silly me, I thought people in helping professions would be more understanding and open-minded individuals. My bad. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 11:08 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleI legitimately thought all of this was behind us. I did the training. I'm not perfect, but I am a good person. The rest of my team loved me. I never thought this would happen. It's been over a month and I'm still in disbelief with both the fact that this happened, and how it happened. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 10:51 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleI agree. The of the hardest things for me to deal with is that I don't believe I said anything wrong. And it didn't even matter. I didn't start looking for another job for a number of reasons. But if I knew then what I know now... | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 10:16 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleAgreed. Humans are humans. And individuals are individuals. Everyone should be treated based on who they are as an individual. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 10:07 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleThank you. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 10:05 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleThank you. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 10:05 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleIt's something I'm debating, but how awful is that? I mean this is what I want to do with my career. I also don't want to go back to school and start from the ground up in another profession. But it may come to that one day. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:52 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleI'm in Canada, but thank you. But I don't want to do that. Women and men should be able to work together! Or am I just being naive? | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:50 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleI have told you everything from my perspective. I am not withholding anything, and I cannot comment on the perspectives of anyone else. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:49 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleIt's been extremely difficult to deal with. I'm not perfect, but I make every effort to be as kind, supportive, accepting and open-minded as I can be. It comes with the job, but these are also the values I live by. So yeah, I've been having a very hard time coming to terms with this. I too believe these comments were very trivial, but apparently that doesn't matter. Thank you. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:47 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleI think it already is. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:45 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleI hired a lawyer who advised against fighting this because of how it looks. He's seen this backfire on other people. Option 1 it is. Thank you. Yeah it's scary times. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:45 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleI added the list. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:28 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleI added it. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:27 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleI agree. I just never thought it would come to this. I've learned. And yeah, I too think it'll get worse before (if) it gets better. These are scary times. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:27 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleThank you! | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:26 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleI agree. I already knew she was a shitty manager before all this. But I never imagined this happening. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:26 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleI'm sorry to hear that. It's totally toxic. So unbelievable considering it's a helping profession! | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:25 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleThe manager is a female who handled this situation based on her bias toward men. She's safe. I live in Canada. I'm going to continue to pursue my dreams but be sooo much more careful now. I've learned. I was part of a new program (1.5 years in) so I'm saying the funding wasn't there. We weren't making good numbers so it's possible the program will be cut at some point anyway. Thank you for your response! | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:24 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleAgreed. They are so absolutely blind to their hypocrisy though. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:20 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleI like the way you put that. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:20 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleI think this is related to SJW mentality. Seeing everything through the lens of power and oppression. So if a man disagrees with a woman or shares a different opinion, he is using his power to try and oppress her. And that's just absolute bullshit. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:19 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleYou are correct. My lawyer also advised me against suing. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:17 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleI figured they did. I am now learning it's one of the worst fields for this. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:16 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleI'm not one to usually hope for these things, but in this case, I do. Thank you. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:15 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleWell I am in Canada, but I agree. It seems like the more things that are accepted (and I believe they should be), the more things that aren't. Inclusiveness is breeding division, and it shouldn't be. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:15 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleIf I knew then what I know now. I never thought it would come to this. I guess naivety was my weakness. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:11 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleIt terrifies me. My manager was a counsellor for years and she has made her opinions about men very clear. And this young woman is working towards being a counsellor. I don't know how she'll work with men who have a different opinion than her. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:10 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleIt seems that way. But what a shame that is. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:08 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleThank you. The sad thing is, I'd say in situations such as this, I probably got off a lot easier than others. It is very bad out there right now. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:08 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleShit. It's so terrifying that it has come to this, isn't it? Sadly that's a good idea. But wow, in a world where we are trying to be so inclusive it seems as though we've never been more divided. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:07 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleUnfortunately not where I'm from. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:06 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleThat's the thing. I didn't think the things I was saying were controversial! I was trying to avoid topics such as that. But to some people, anything can be offensive. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:05 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleThat's the plan. Thank you. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:04 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleAgreed. But I've also, in my 20 years of working, have never worked with anyone that would do this kinda thing to someone else. I've always had good working relationships with coworkers. I've learned my lesson. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:03 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleThank you. I wish you the same. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:02 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleYeah I agree. My lawyer encouraged me not to fight this because it would ruin me, so I didn't. And wow, what a great comparison between toxic masculinity and female hysteria. Very true. We are heading down such an awful path. I really want to dedicate my life to helping others, but I am, at this point, terrified of this happening again. It happened so easily and so unfairly, that now I am just paranoid. It's awful. I am honestly not sure of such sites. Good question though. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 09:01 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleCould be a part of it. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 08:57 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleExactly. Women seem to be using history to justify their beliefs and their behaviour. I'm not saying women still aren't oppressed; many are. But many are also not. This young woman who got me fired is 23, lives at home rent free, parents paid for her education, and she works Monday to Friday making 60k right out of school. I don't know her story, but in a situation like that, maybe you shouldn't be going and attacking good men because of all the injustices women have endured. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 08:57 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleYeah that's the impression I got. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 08:53 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleWow I'm so sorry that happened to you. It really is amazing that in field we all go in to help others, that the very people in the field can be so vicious. It's unbelievable. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 08:53 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleAgreed. Thank you very much. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 08:51 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleThank you very much. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 08:49 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleCanada. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 08:49 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleIt's the world we live in now. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 08:48 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleWill do! Thanks! | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 08:47 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleIt's not fair payback. We shouldn't be punished for what others have done. I'm sorry this is happening to you too. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 08:47 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleThank you. I ended up finding another job, with a 9k pay cut and it's not exactly what I want to do but it'll do for now. My company had a code of conduct that wasn't followed. In my official termination form or whatever it's called they mentioned "their efforts to transition me to the culture were unsuccessful". There were no efforts, unless you count the training where the trainer himself said he believes I'm being singled out. It's bullshit. I live in Canada, and in my province you can be fir… | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 08:42 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleYeah it clearly wasn't the right place for me. Thank you. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 08:37 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleBrutal. I'm sorry this happened to you. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 08:37 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleOh yeah. It certainly doesn't go both ways. Thank you. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 04:38 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleUnfortunately not. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 04:37 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleIn a nutshell. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 04:37 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleI do feel very helpless, yes. And I agree with you! | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 04:37 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleYep. Welcome to 2019 and this really bitterly cold climate. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 04:35 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleI think we've accepted it but people are too scared to do anything about it because of fear of losing jobs/reputations/etc. We live in an outrage culture and people are no longer having discussions about things but are actually attacking others by going behind their backs and if a manager/dean/whoever doesn't respond to these things, then they too will be labeled sexist/racist/etc. It's terrifying. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 04:34 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleYep. My lawyer got me 2 months extra severence pay from them, but anything over and above that just wasn't going to happen. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 04:31 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleThis is exactly it. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 04:20 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleHey man. I really appreciate it. I am sorry this happened to you, too. I definitely didn't see it coming. This did happen over a month ago, and I have since resolved it to the best of my ability by getting more severence from them. I have learned to be very careful now. I mean I thought I was already being careful, but clearly you have to be really careful. I've been in the field for over 3 years and been working for nearly 20 years, I've never worked in an environment with such sensitive and to… | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 03:15 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleThank you. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 03:11 PM
Lost my job because I was targeted for being a white maleThank you. I'm sorry this happened to you, but it's great to hear you landed somewhere better. I'm hoping the same for myself. I appreciate the response. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/19 03:02 PM
