The more those filterbubbles are turning against each others, the closer this thing is about to end. What we see now is people realizing how irrelevant all those little wars in the last decade really have been. A lot of it happened and stayed on social media anyways. And now we have bigger things to take care of. I guess that's it for extremism and hate movements.

Because right now we don't need any negativity at all. And secondly for me it's more about reacting to issues feminists have. Balancing things out. Correcting one-sided narratives, but not fueling any hate.

It's all politics. Maybe even the existence of the virus itself. Sounds evil, probably is, but I guess you can call it an act of desperation, as we were facing huge challenges anyways. The economic system was about to crash already before the virus, we had several war zones worldwide, the climate change is probably very real and god knows what scientists and secret services are able to predict on top of it. Even Stephen Hawking gave us maybe 100 more years.

She's acting bitchy, is gaslighting him and actually hit him. Case closed. Also a lot of noise for a private fight between two people. I feel I have no business to comment that and already wrote too much.

I don't consider myself part of any movement. I just want to balance out the one-sided narrative of mainstream media. It's insulting my intelligence and moral sense.

There's always people who talk bullshit. Maybe a good start ist to stop reacting to it. No one needs that shit right now.

I know, it can be awful. When I was in a long-term relationship, even later when I've been dating, I used it rather rarely. But at the moment I feel like waiting for someone to come home... I feel lonely. I have stuff on my mind that I can't share with anyone else in the next room. That's when Twitter gets you. I see it in my timeline. As soon as people get engaged, become happier for other reasons, they're gone. So naturally it's no place for happy people. It's a pinwall for anger, sadness, fru…

Since I'm tired of that stuff, I've already blocked the hashtags on Twitter last week, some new ones slipped through. Blocked them, too. Had a smooth, stress-free experience so far. On my Facebook noone cares anyway and the few pic I saw on Instagram didn't provoke me. They were from nice people I know, not from any raging activists. For those who wonder how to block hashtags - it's easy: https://www.tomsguide.com/us/how-to-mute-hashtags-keywords-twitter,news-27082.html

You can't kill nature. That boy has probably a hard time being a boy with a mother like this. I love my mother, but I also know how that feels. I grew up without a father, got told he's an asshole and thought it wouldn't be an issue as a kid. Later in life I understood what I've been missing. Those boys, who get told that they can everything they want to be (but god forbid a regular guy), will compensate the stuff that has been missing one way or the other. In my case I was raised to be that sof…

The reality has all different kinds of stories to tell. You should always be cautious, when society switches to a simplified one-size-fits-all story instead. That usually lead to nothing good in history.

I can imagine how that feels. Even though I'm twice your age it still hurts sometimes to see how brutal some people voice their opinions and how easily the mob jumps on someone. You know... some people just use social media as outlet for their trash. They aren't like that as a whole person. It's just a temporary feeling they think they have to tell the world. But Twitter isn't a diary. It's truly "toxic" (even though I can't stand the word) to throw stuff around you usually wouldn't say, because…

The men you find here are as different as it can be. We're not even politically on the same page. I don't feel in any way affiliated to a "movement". I for example care about women as much as I do about men, nature and animals. What most of us have in common is that radical feminism affects us in some way or another. It has to be a very ambivalent feeling to be torn between being gay and critisizing feminism. That's one of the issues I have with feminism myself. It attaches itself to so many oth…

I'm about balancing things out and I don't know if memes are the right way to achieve that. The goal should be to avoid over-identifying oneself with any bubble. On the other hand I'm tired. Tired of managing my emotions, being rational, of mediating... they are throwing their buzzwords against you anyways. The latest one I've been accused of is "slut shaming". There's a difference between online and real life, though. Where I live that doesn't happen in a normal conversation. But Reddit, Twitte…

I asked women for advice after being rejected recently. Some gave great answers, but I also got some horrible ones, who clearly showed how they are abusing the fact that they can always have a guy, while men have to try much harder. Unbelivable manipulative stuff in some cases. It makes me so sad. I had a good long relationship once. I know how different it can be, but people too often choose to be malicious.

Gender war is the saddest thing I've experienced in my life. I would have never thought about this as one of the main issues of my generation. But somehow it makes sense that evolution / nature / god (whatever you may believe in) found a way to stop overpopulation.

I love women. Always have, always will. I want women to be free to do whatever they want. But feminism is invasive, aggressive, extreme, hurts the purpose, divides people... It's not only their fault, though. Extremism, filterbubbles and all that stuff is an issue in a lot of niches these days. Feminism is just one of the biggest bubbles.

I tried to bring in a little bit of a personal touch into an online discussion lately. No empathy. The victim card isn't made for guys like me. I pulled it anyway just for the sake of fairness and it proved that there is none.

I've explained on Twitter, that I had to deal with gender-specific issues. That I'm not willing to share them, though, because of the hateful environment it has become. That's all that I could do to do myself justice, without opening so much that I could possibly get hurt. Edit: I'm also not a fan of pointing out peer-group specific issues, because they are always partly something personal.

Twitter is the worst. The issue is that I have always been more of a left-wing guy, so there is basically no way to shut this bubble down, without disconnecting from my people. In fact I find myself consistently fighting for keeping things separately ... gender stuff doesn't define politicial views as a whole. As much as they try to mob you away from your own believs, if you criticize feminism and LGBT as a popcultural thing - at the end I won't fall for their simplified "rainbow flags vs old wh…

This stuff will backlash so hard, once the wind turns. I tried to stay moderate for so long, and when even people like me lose their patience, I can only imagine how angry people are, who don't care about being a reflected and balanced person. The only reason why I'm not a full blown anti-feminist is the scum on the other side of the coin (who DOES exist and hurt the reputation of reasonable men) and the association with right-wing ideology, which I do not support.

I do not struggle with emotions. It's just not very attractive to women. Sure - they love you as a friend, if you're sensitive and show it. The issue is to find a women who thinks your softness is also pretty sexy. Let's be real: A lot of women say they love emotional and empathic men. But they might not even know themselves well enough to admit it (or struggling with their choice of men, if they do), but most of them will have sex with men who are more rational & dominant than them.

Todays movements don't stop at a healthy point. Feminism would be no issue if it just adressed the reasonable points it clearly has. But since we've started to live in a world of filterbubbles people turn into extremists in no time. And then they're even hurting their own cause.

From todays perspective I'd say He-Man has not really been a great toy for kids. But it has been my childhood, I feel nostalgic about it and those things helped me to cope growing up fatherless. Action figures, Rambo, Karate Kid, Wrestling, Heavy Metal .. all that stuff has been compensation for the supressed part of my father in me. There could have been healthier options ... sure ... but now I'm a guy who loves muscles, explosions and fighting, I can't change it ;) But what I did is to learn w…

The current femnism is something completely different than the movements before. It has a deeper political meaning. Especially in the USA. They aren't the first to generalize the powers that be, to get a grip of them. It never worked in the past. The reason is that you actually need to have insights to the high society. You can't kill the system from the outside. You will always hurt someone else instead.

Calling someone "toxic" is borderline racist. I don't use that term. As someone who worked in PR, I also try to be aware of the attempts to reframe things by inventing new slogans and phrases. I suggest to always put your thoughts into own words, instead of reversing the terms that are being forced upon you.

Most of the phrases and hashtags are. It's a very simplified, overly-aggressive and non-productive way to communicate. Even on Twitter I try to avoid them. We need to open up those filterbubbles, if we want to keep democracy alive.

Difficult times. I've always been more on the soft and sensitive side. No one needs to explain to me how to be polite, loving, caring or empathic. I just wish to not being a synonym for the evil elite, when I focus on things that are harder for me: Being strong, relieable, rational, more attractive, assertive ... I'm not the enemy, but people judge fast on social media. The funny thing is ... this doesn't hurt the narcisstic, successful, opressing kind of men. It hurts those who may have missed …

I have an oldschool feminist friend. She isn't so much into social media and wondered why a friendly left-wing guy like me has built up so much anger against feminism lately. I told her what's going on, especially in US media (we're from Europe) and she said it's not how she understands feminism. Basically a feminist not supporting feminism. Good job, 4th wave hate movement.

For everyone who feels sick of this... turn your PC / your phone off, take a breath, meet more people... real-life conversations are way more comfortable and versatile than anything we discuss online. Yesterday I went out after having Twitter conversations, even though I felt nothing like it, but it has been worth it. All the stress from the online discussions - gone. Just a thought of mine. Feminism claims it's there for everyone. But that's the concept of humanism. If they were serious about helping to build a more equal society without having any borders in mind, they would call themselves humanists.

It's not about the feminists, it's about the people in between. You can't change extremists, but if you let it happen to get pushed to the opposite side, you play their game. The result is more extremists on every side of the spectrum.

The story is too complicated to focus only on the gender aspect of it. The real issue here is mental illness. Feminism can be reckless, though. Hate movements are filterbubble issues. We need to build more bridges, instead of burning them.

I know what you mean ;) I've turned 40 and for me 30 years old women are perfect, though. It's not that I'm not fascinated by the beauty of youth, but I can't connect with young women anymore. The generation gap started to get noticeable a few years ago and all in all I feel more comfortable dating someone who speaks my language. Jail doesn't help anyone. Especially not minors. The most important thing is that they reflect and correct their behaviour. Men should also be careful. Young women are very attractive, but at some point (I'd say around mid-30s) we shouldn't date them anymore. It just doesn't work in most cases.

This kind of feminism is a desperate attempt to fight the system, no matter at what cost. But as it always have been, they don't get a grip on the right people, but hurt everyone else. I used to do the same when I was younger and "fought" capitalism. Over time I realized that the best thing I could do is changing my own habits and maybe become a role model for others. That's the loving way of sharing your beliefs. If you try it due to hate, you will make two enemies for every new ally you gain.

Oh my... it's so easy to hate ... but it's hard to love people, despite all their flaws. Having learned that a life without love is a life less lived, I'll keep on connecting with the right people. But yes, it makes me sad. Those are the folks I used to be around in my life. Sensitive, creative, intelligent women... modern feminism is their way to express their hate. Therefore it's harder for me to make friends these days.

The thing is that they totally miss the point in 2018. While it should be about abuse of power, it has become a gender war. And that's not even a new symptom. People always seemed to fight each other, when they failed to adress the real aggressors. It's just that it doesn't get any more destructive than fighting about genders. I hope times are changing soon and the people understand that they need each other.

Interesting story. Thanks for sharing. I never wanted anything so bad in my life than this gender war madness coming to an end. I lost my long-term relationship partly because of it, it made me question my political beliefs and it's a daily source of frustration. I can't distance myself from it, because I'm a writer and a musician and it's too common in my community to not even question the agenda of modern day feminism or view it from a sociologically perspective.

"Manspreading" has been my final trigger to distance myself from todays feminism about 2 years ago. My brain explodes from all the absurd stuff that's going on these days.

The political package that is said to come along with femnism or mens rights activism is a big issue. It has become far more than hat it has been supposed to be. They won't come far with their cliches, though. Not every non-feminist is right-wing. If the mindset is now "you're either for or against us", they will lose support from a increasing amount of left-wing men who are more humanism-oriented and refuse to associate themselves with the radical and angry movement feminism has become.

That's a good example why they are their own worst enemies.

What the guy says sounds like a statement from the late 80s. Handmade music is usually self-expression. We all feel sometimes powerful and sometimes sensitive and a good musucian isn't afraid to show it. There's much more image-driven stuff going on in EDM.

It's not as bad here in Germany, but you can clearly see the influence on Twitter and journalism. I'm so sad about how we could ever let it happen, that it's about a gender war now. As a romantic person and musician who always has been inspired by love and relationships, I don't know what it will do to me in the long run.

Woman asks for help: "I'm soooo sorry for you... <3 <3" Man asks for help: "Go and see a therapist..." Therapist: "Oh, and I have this video camera (because I don't trust you) ..."

Sometimes I ask myself if todays feminism is the result of someone playing the ultimate form of the "divide & conquer" game.

I'm a left-wing humanist. The only thing I want is to live in peace and don't be confronted with aggressive agendas, hate speech and all the stuff... the only reason I lean towards the men's right stuff is because feminism has become so hateful and one-sided. It's hurtful and I don't want to feel anymore anger growing in myself. So I figured the only positive thing to do is get some other influences, instead of feeling isolated and lost within my rather anti-men-driven filterbubble.

How fucked up is that? Would you leave the kids alone with all of todays craziness please?!

I refuse to feel offened by this. The gender war makes me sometimes angry, but at the end is driven und used by "divide and conquer" strategists, while a lot of people aren't aware of the bigger picture or even questioning what's behind all those filterbubbles and realizing to where it might lead us.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
