I appreciate the sentiment, but you are asking the wrong guy lol. I'm a predictable, boring fucker who also plays guitar and basketball haha. Truth is that I manage to get the dates, but I have yet to figure out what I need to do to keep them interested long term aside from just maximizing my looks (I'm overweight). OLD has been pretty much all failures if the goal is a relationship. Most of the girls I date from there seemingly want to be knocked off their feet on date 1. Given that I'm an aver…

when men keep talking about all of their dreams of exclusivity and don't make it a reality, it's kind of like a broke person talking about their plans to be rich when they haven't gotten off the couch in a month. I understand what you are saying, but that generality does not hold up on this case. You are correct in that it was still early on (i think around 6 weeks), so we aren't talking about dating for 4 months with no talk of commitment. I still had to vet a few yellow flags (which eventually…

Most men don't TELL you they're not seeing anyone else. They ASK if you want to stop seeing other people. Typically, there should be a question involved- a clear question with a clear answer where everyone is on the same page. Ok? But I wasn't asking her to commit to not seeing anyone else. This was me telling her MY level of investment. I never asked her to stop using her app. She is a grown woman, she can decide when she is ready to stop using them, and now she knows she can talk to me about i…

You're just wrong. We met in real life, but both of us had active dating app profiles. This was literally my way of telling her that I was seeing her exclusively, which I did by the way. I don't know what you are implying by "stringing her along". I don't have casual sex, I only sleep with girls I want to pursue for a LTR. Like, I am genuinely curious as to how I was supposed to do this any differently than I did? Though to be honest having seen your posting history I'll be genuinely surprised i…

I'm a mid 20's guy who averages 1-2 matches a day on OLD when I am swiping actively, and goes on 1-3 dates a week with girls I meet from it. My experience has been that they aren't necessarily looking for drama, but they absolutely do want the unpredictability and excitement, apparently above all other things. I personally attribute it the modern day obsession with social media. Once you've seen a hot girls DM's things start making a lot of sense.

That was my intention. We were in the process of discussing what our expectations were, and I had just told her the week before I had put my OLD profile on pause to date her. Communication of intention definetly wasn't the issue here. My experiences and the experiences of my single guy friends shows me that most of the girls in our age range (mid 20's) value partying and casual situationships over anything serious.

About a month and a half ago I had been seeing and sleeping with a girl and things were looking great. But in the span of 2 days, it went from talking about a potential relationship to "you're a great guy, but I only see you as a friend" after she went to a party and presumably met another dude there. Last night she posted in her feed a dating meme that said "you're too pretty to have to ask a man to act right..." Can't lie, after being hurt by this girl I got the tiniest twinge of karmic retrib…

I don't think it's women's looks standard that is necessarily the main problem nowadays (does still cause issues). Like, I believe it is way higher than the "Women care more about personality!" bullshit that loves to get spouted, but not quite as high as the doom and gloomers here like to say (I will say that looks alone CAN facilitate casual, I've seen it happen too many times, just like I've seen several instances of dudes bag a girl above their looks league. Hell, I've even managed to do it).…

I think that thread really points to a lot of the frustration/jealousy/disgust that men (myself included) have around dating and sex. To be the guy who goes months or even years with no relationships and no sex, just to watch your female friends and ex's be consistently taken out on dates, having dudes propose relationships to them, all while they have sneaky links on side waiting for that text to come over. It hurts, no other way to say it. Anecdotally, I think it bothers or has bothered most g…

Dating Apps are all about looks and demographics. I'm between a 5-6/10 lookswise, but I manage to average a match a day/every other day, and that's not using all my swipes, otherwise I could possibly hit 2-3 a day. I think a large part of this is that I live in a city with I believe a 5/3 ratio of women to men in my area; if I lived in a more balanced area I would probably be in trouble. If you are above average attractiveness it is probably worth it, just to get some dating experience and put y…

Seems like you have a preference for a skin fades lol. Maintaining those requires weekly barber visits for dudes who grow hair at any reasonable rate, otherwise it starts looking janky. I imagine most guys just don't feel like dropping $80-$100 A month just on haircuts lol. I bet when you are out and about and see guys with rough looking hair they are just in between barber visits.

I think the biggest thing that gets me is that there was great chemistry, great communication, great sex, and still all it took was seemingly 1 interaction with another guy, and poof! Gone. And that seems to be the norm so often now. My ex prior to this one tossed a 9 month relationship with me to be able to hook up with the ex who had already dumped her twice before. Or like you said with the ghosting. I do halfway decent on OLD for a guy (1-2 matches a day), and it's still crazy to me how many…

This hits home. About a month ago I had been dating a girl for about a month. Off the chart chemistry, had sex 2 weeks in and hooked up 8-9 times over the next few weeks. We had both been discussing our relationship expectations and finding out where we stood on the big topics. She was talking about needing to meet her friends and family because they were really important to her. She went out with a girlfriend to a club one Saturday night after she had spent the previous night and that morning a…

Feeling safe is KEY. Though sadly, most women are killed by a man she knows and that is one of the highest causes of women's deaths globally.. And casual sex for women means the are very vulnerable and have far more to worry about, let alone a man being able to cause her bodily harm in a number of ways or death. I believe this is a consequence of being the physically weaker sex. It's not the fault of all men that some men do bad things. You will never legislate away or socialize away all crimina…

The article you are referencing was a poll done of 1000 k-12 teachers. My source is the result of over 17 000 reporting questionnaires completed by students. ED.gov › nces › pubs2013PDF Web results Parent and Family Involvement in Education, from the National ... This isn't to discredit your experience, I can't do that, but I would have to contend your situation is an extreme outlier. Contending that the average high school student is doing as much homework as I was my most difficult year of che…

I think you are misinterpreting statistics here. The national center for education statistics is showing that in 2007 the average time spent on homework was 5.4 hours per week averaged across all ages. A more accurate set of data would be their data from 2016, which shows kindergarten through 8th grade averaging 4.7 hours of homework a week, and high school students averaging 7.5 hours a week of homework. https://nces.ed.gov/programs/digest/d17/tables/dt17_227.40.asp

I don't agree with this at all, or at least I don't think there is data conclusive enough to say one way or another. I think this is less of a gender thing and more of a personality thing. The only study I found regarding this topic shows that women felt more judged for having a messy house, but that didn't necessarily mean it was more or less clean. I think the stereotype of all men being messy needs to be put aside.

I find Dan Carlin's hardcore history series to be pretty relaxing and good to listen to at work, I know that is one of the most popular history series though. I have enjoyed Esoteric's "Apollo 11: What we saw" and "The Cold War: what we saw", evening they are pretty short though.

I like to read and like talking about different books that I've read. I figured that would be an interesting conversation to have. To get your perspective, what are your hobbies and would you consider them unique?

I have posts above discussing if my hobbies are unique and Orchid wtote a good post that led to me changing my perspective on this.

Your post gave me some good insight and perspective. I searched the definition of hobby and got this Hobby - an activity done regularly in one's leisure time for pleasure. By official definition, my personal definition of a hobby is not valid, and I was clearly not being objective when disqualifying the hobbies listed above. Just because I think when someone says Netflix is their hobby is boring doesn't disqualify it as a hobby. It's just my preference. Thank you for changing my mind on this

Sounds like you have a good group of hobbies and would be interesting to have a conversation with! And I'm still learning the guitar, so if you heard me playing it probably wouldn't be too spark worthy lol

I won't disagree that my hobbies aren't exactly niche hobbies and are commonplace. I feel like my main points were; I felt some of the items I've listed above don't really classify as hobbies From my personal life experience, women claimed these items as hobbies more frequently than my male friendships (obviously doesn't apply to all women and is totally anecdotal) And that my male friendships had a more diverse group of hobbies when compared to my female friendships/relationships, regardless of…

Not trying to come off as accusatory, this is more curiosity than anything. What are your hobbies and what male hobbies would you find "spark worthy"?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/20 11:33 PM

Totally agree with you on the fish picture thing haha, thankfully I'm not guilty of that one. And those are all great hobbies to have, not disagreeing with you there. My premise is that the hobbies that are listed, even if they are common to the people you have seen, are skills and activities with room to grow and improve. My basketball group is competitive with skilled former high school and college players, I'm learning guitar with the intention of playing in a band, and learning how to create…

I disagree with that premise. If you believe that is the case, what male hobbies would be classified as not "basic bitch" ones? And regardless, I would still argue that those hobbies are more diverse than dining/drinks/netflix (things that everyone does) and travelling (usually an infrequent event, not a true hobby for a lot of people. Social media is so so for me and a type of exercise class can make a great hobby if it is what you are passionate about it of course.

I think the reason this is thrown out there is due to a lack of hobby diversity apparent in a lot of women. I totally agree with you that men who sit around and play 4 hours of video games a day are not being productive or pursuing interesting hobbies, but here is what I have seen anecdotally in my own life. I am learning to play electric guitar, play pickup basketball with other guys once or twice a week, enjoy make rustic furniture when I have the space to do it, like fishing, and collect boar…

So using the equation for a line (y=mx+b), can we state that women are explained by the linear equation y=-1/7x +(6+pussy)/7 ? I'll take my Nobel prize now please
