Well put. Thanks for answering my question.

Sorry to hear that. Hang in there buddy. To be fair I think it's just people who are hard to trust. I've been betrayed by men and women and my mom said the same thing about men when my dad left. People are unfortunately cruel and complicated. Take care of yourself.

Serious question and I'm not looking for trouble- Was that personal value worth the 50-100k you invested in it?

And in response, I do think that a gay couple can be just as great of parents as a straight couple. It's about love. Love your kid and teach them to be a good person. Teach them to work hard and respect others.

Either way, I would assume that kids raised by same sex parents are more likely to be openly gay because of the built in acceptance.

The family structures group has been repeatedly criticized for its research standards. http://m.newyorker.com/online/blogs/closeread/2012/06/a-faulty-gay-parenting-study.html Edit: On that note I would like to fully heartedly agree that dads are important. That is certainly not to say that a lesbian couple can't raise kids though. There are plenty of dads who are wonderful and plenty who are absent or cold. I would take love from a gay/lesbian couple over abuse/distance from a heterosexual paren…

I believe that the author actually identifies as a man and should be referred to as such.

It's true. That is completely unfair. Its important for men to see the love and respect that men can share without it being considered gay. This sub occasionally talks about how men are much more likely to commit suicide than women are. I suppose this could be related to this very good point that you make.

Nope. There are so many kinds of love. I sometimes find myself overwhelmingly happy when on my way home after hanging out with good friends just due to recognizing how awesome it is to have friends that I love so much.

Yes, this too. I have had relationships with several wonderful men. They were loving and kind and so good to me but it just didn't click. They were wonderful friends to me but I couldn't love them the same as I loved women.

Thank you. People are stupid and sexist towards men. Not just lesbians.

This is very generalist statement that you make about feminists. They are not all that way (most of them are not in fact), just as most men are not greedy. Generalizations can be a dangerous thing. I urge you to not speak Ill of other groups if you want your ideas to be taken seriously the same as I urge feminists to be respectful of men and the men's rights movement.

I am pretty new to the idea of Men's rights so I guess i don't know what a lot of the main issues are. Something that is very personal to me is that of men's mental health. My parents are in the long process of getting a divorce and my dad has really become a new person. He used to be just a regular dad (and a great one at that). He wore Hawaiian shirts and was silly and everyone liked being around him. Shortly before my parents split, he spent a bunch of money on a brand new wardrobe, lost a lo…

Thank you. I think it's important that both the men's and women's movements put their best foot forward and never blame the other. It's about progress not blame.

Haha, nope. It's true. I've learned a lot about women by having conversations with men. I think it has made me a better person to understand the things about women that men find confusing or frustrating because in reality they bother women too when it comes to relationships. It's nice to see things from two sides.

Is this the stereotypical some guys wishing that their lesbian friends were straight because they connect similar to how many girls want their gay BFFs to be straight? Either way I'm open to logical conversation about it.

Well put. I feel like I would like to call myself a peoplist, though when I think about it I guess that's actually just humanism.

Much of feminism is far too extreme in my opinion and quite frankly I think that the extreme approach is more detrimental than anything else. Moderation (in activism, politics, etc) while still making a point will go much further and yield better results for everyone.

Yes! I love this! I think that a lot of the issues that we (humans of the earth) face in terms of gender is not listening. If only one person is listening and the other person is running their mouth, they are not showing compassion and care for the other person. If both people are listening, the most incredible intellectual conversation happens and I think we begin to understand human interaction a little better. Men and women both have a lot of work to do to make male-female interaction work bu…

I think I worded my apology funny. My intent was to apologize for the mis-treatment and lack of respect, not the things that feminists say. Men absolutely need the support of the system. It's unbelievable what women will get away with just by opening their mouth's and pointing fingers. This is infuriating as it obviously is not fair and the lack of support on the side of the men who she accuses is simply unacceptable. Thank you for explaining further what Men's rights are about.

Thank you for acknowledging that. I promise there are decent women out there. Respect is something you have to earn by being a good person and working hard. Not enough people understand that. That said, I also am a firm believer that in order to gain respect you have to give it first and I can't quite tell if that is saying the same thing or the opposite!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
