Correct, which is why I prefer the term egalitarian.

Yeah but how does feminism manifest? Surely there wouldn't be so much backlash if it actually manifested as equal rights.

It’s mind-boggling that a sub meant for discourse treats 'persistence' as a banable offense. 'Bad faith' implies a malicious intent or open bigotry, neither of which I’ve shown. I’m asking about massive, distinct trends: scholarships (policy/economics), voting shifts (election strategy), and family dynamics (sociology). Categorizing these as 'the same question' just because they involve men is a massive categorical error. If I asked ten different questions about climate change or healthcare poli…

Im a liberal, because liberal principles are good, the problem is when it comes to boys and men, these principles are completely ignored.

Mention this in r/ask a liberal you will get downvoted lol. But you're right.

Yes, my biggest criticism of the left.
/r/MensRights20/10/24 05:11 AM

Yes I know but im saying 2 adults is important, doesnt have to be a man or a woman, thats all bro.
/r/MensRights20/10/24 05:08 AM

If by nuclear family you mean a man and a women than yes there is. Statistically speaking it takes 2 adults, it can be 2 men or 2 women. Not to mention extended families and stuff.
/r/MensRights20/10/24 05:06 AM

Actually statistically speaking it takes 2 adults, any two or more. less than two is an issue so I'm not sure what your point is because no one really advocating for single parent household.

I've been saying it for a while, the left sucks at dealing with men's issues, and the right sucks at dealing with women's issues.

Honestly this is going to probably get downvoted but actual progressive policies such as universal healthcare, cheaper or free public education, would help a lot.
/r/MensRights23/07/24 05:28 PM

The lefts policy positions are very helpful to everyone though, such as ending homelessness, but their rhetoric certainly harms men.

Believing systemic racism affects white people in America is inherently a right wing talking point, yes.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates01/03/24 06:38 AM

I said white people aren't systematically oppressed but this subreddit is mostly right wingers anyways.

Acknowledging that no group is a monolith is precisely why equity efforts are necessary. These efforts are tailored, recognizing that within any group, individuals face unique challenges. The goal is to dismantle systemic barriers that disproportionately affect certain groups, not to treat all members of any group as having a uniform experience. Equity is about nuanced support, not blanket assumptions. I don't know what you mean by young white men by the way never had a chance by the way. Schola…

Obviously... we shouldn't over react... what's your point? I don't think giving historically marginalized groups scholarships is over reacting, I think it's giving them a better chance they never had.

True fairness is achieved when everyone has the same opportunity to succeed, which sometimes means providing additional support to those who've been disadvantaged. Altering standards isn't the goal; it's about ensuring the standards don't inadvertently maintain historical inequalities.

Did I say Asians were favored in academia? I genuinely don't remember. My main point was hating men because you believe they oppress women isn't valid because it's a systemic thing and you should criticize society as a whole, not men in general. And then I said how it's no different than black people hating white people because white people oppress black people somehow. I hope I'm making sense.

Equity ensures fair access, not overcorrection. It addresses systemic barriers to allow everyone to compete on equal footing. Fairness isn't just theoretical; it requires practical steps to overcome real-world disparities. That's how you reach equality, it's through equity. If you want to argue how to implement equity policies without over correcting than that's a whole other subject.

Misandry is bad because it's blaming all men for being oppressive... and I tied it into how being racist to white people because you perceive them to be oppressors is also bad. But everyone in the comment section acting weird.

It's not racism to strive for diversity, if your job didn't accept you because you were white, yet you were a better candidate because of merit of whatever than that would be racism. If that was the case then I'd agree with you. But it probably wasn't, because that's illegal.

When we talk about discrimination, it’s not just about the allocation of opportunities, but also about the quality of those opportunities and the barriers to accessing them. If historical oppression has hindered a group’s socioeconomic status, educational attainment, and overall well-being, then measures that appear to give them a larger share of opportunities are actually attempts to correct those long-standing inequities. It's equity in an attempt to achieve equality.

Do you think Asian people are favored in school and by society or do you think they're simply extremely education driven... none of what you said has anything to do with systemic issues.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates01/03/24 02:55 AM
1

Not to mention how education driven immigrants are. Black students from Africa or the Caribbean which is considered in the study you referred too have traditionally stricter upbringings and push for academia, that does not mean they aren't disadvantaged or that is easier for them. It's usually not.

That's correct. 👍🏼 What's your point? In general... all around the world, you see the opposite. Even in the UK.

Diversity is good. White people aren't being excluded simply because there is racism and that white people are bad... there is so many benefits to DEI. It's a strive to true equality. And it's not at the expense of white people at all... diversity is a good thing.

I'm an American yes. white is a social construct of course... I'm not sure what the rest of your comment is even talking about. Also, working class boys are at the end because they're boys... I never denied misandry... I denied being systemically oppressed for being white... not for men. After all I'm a male advocate because I think boys and men face issues.

Dude we literally agree.. I'm just saying I don't think white people, (yes it's a construct) are disadvantaged for being white... my point was how being racist to white people and being misandrist are both wrong because it's hating an entire group of people.

I swear to god most of y'all aren't even leftists.

How are white people disadvantaged systemically simply for being white? Anyways that wasn't even the point of the post, it was how criticizing everyone in a certain group simply because you believe "they" hold power is bad because 99.9 percent of them had nothing to do with it. You would agree that when feminists say "men created the patriarchy" it's wrong because 99.9 percent of men alive today did not, right?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates29/02/24 11:43 PM
-21

Exactly why i said my post is controversial. I believe it depends on how you define racism... I think as white people there is no system that disadvantages us simply because we are white. I agree that individual cases of racism are in fact racism and wrong.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates29/02/24 11:39 PM

Yes reverse racism is real. No, it's not systemic... yes misandry and misogyny is real... and this includes systemic issues for both genders... criticize the institutions not the people simply participating in society.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates29/02/24 11:33 PM

You're comparing two different things... yes Porn is tailored more to men as they are much more likely to watch it... this has nothing do with women not being able to achieve orgasm or that there is an orgasm gap... there literally is no comparison.
/r/MensRights28/02/24 05:49 PM

How does the patriarchy get blamed for women not achieving orgasm 😭... jeez.
/r/MensRights28/02/24 12:27 AM

Which is technically true... but denying that a large part of the feminism movement these days isn't toxic is insane... I believe in the theory of feminism itself but I don't support "feminists" because their views aren't truly egalitarian like feminism is supposed to be.

I'm 18 and I have it 😔.... everytime I jerk off it's by edging the top... but I haven't ever been able to pull it back yet unfortunately... all I'm saying is circumcision should be the last option.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates25/02/24 06:15 AM
4

The only time circumcision is justified is if it's necessary medically... for example I know some people whose foreskin can't retract and so they opted for circumcision ... that's fine... but forced circumcision should be illegal everywhere.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates18/02/24 09:17 PM

It's also possible that there may be a medical issue which might cause pain or make it difficult to retract the foreskin, which I think is the only valid reason to have a circumcision.
