It is so tiresome. I once applied to get a week of visitation in a nearby research company and I got instantly denied, saying they can't afford it, I put it subtly that I wasnt looking to get paid. Later I found out, they accepted a girl I knew for a ****** PAID internship. She applied the same week, sent the same standard application to dozens of companies. You also have to take in account that the women are not the mothers as well. It's way more common in non-western countries though
