I think part of the thing is young boys/men love to destroy things but rarely do they stop and think about how that destruction impacts others. Some learn the hard way. Some never learn. If someone doesn't mature out of that in their mid 20s it is a bad sign IMO.

how old was he though? I'm not saying it was the right thing to do but pretty much no one in the world knows what it is like to grow up like that. The kid thought he was invincible as many do in their adolescence. He could have done better but he could have done a hell of a lot worse too.
