Current legislation around this already covers the issue. One of my friends was long term sick from menopause (and she's a good friend who has said to my face she's a little sad me and her youngest daughter never hit it off in /that/ way) got flattened by it and our work through law and policy already had her covered in terms of sick leave and flexible workloads

Not in my experience.
