Just on the surface, I think both arguments are dumb. There are more practical ways to protect yourself but also, assaults happen more frequently than homicides. Whilst yes, men are murdered more often… the context is important too. Same for assaults. IMO this isn’t even really men’s rights either.

Not a fan of Tate but he does recite some fairly mainstream stuff about taking responsibility and all that. The issue is, I suppose, it is framed too far in a certain direction. Same thing with Jordan Peterson... everything he says isn't all bad, just some certain things (which is fine, he can believe and say whatever he likes). And you can also relate and utilise advice from people however you like. Just because you don't align to someone fully, doesn't mean they aren't correct about a certain …

Gonna be honest, this is a total dick head move. What about a person with a disability or an elderly person? Sure, they didn't "choose" that life explicitly, however the impact is the same. I mean, some women simply don't have the frame for the baby in the latter stages. It ain't hard to, you know, show a bit of empathy. You know, you get a good feeling doing nice things for people too! Imagine if it was your partner, wouldn't you like it a society cared enough to help your family, even in a sma…

Yeah, how is this generally okay? Just put the shoe on the other foot. If I had a female creeper emailing me weird sex dreams they had I'd be rightfully weirded out too. It is GENERALLY good advice though to be minimalist to touchy feely at work. I had a colleague who thought colleagues were family. After establishing she wouldn't loan me $100, like family would, I clearly told her we won't ever be family. And I also refused to hug her despite her many requests. Later, apparently she had a big c…

100%. When I was single I would only ever use the apps during time that is otherwise wasted; on the toilet, waiting for food, downtime at work etc. Don't make it a hobby. Secondly, as you said, jump to the point. No one wants pen pals. Be a bit bold too. Gotta see this from the girls perspective too (possibly ask a female friend to swipe using their profile). There are A LOT of bro types, losers, douchebags that do awful things to cool chicks. It is sometimes hard to see the good eggs amongst a …

To be honest.... gonna be unpopular on hear but we don't know how many women he wasn't able to work his magic on. I'm sure he specifically targeted women who were at least somewhat needy, easily manipulated and had means to get money. Often it is women around the 30-ish mark. And no defence to women who pick shitty guys, but sometimes they just like the impulsiveness that comes with rich people and / or irresponsible people. The story was also quite believable - he photo-shopped himself into pho…

I read this earlier today. The reason why Karl got more was because a different network was trying to lure him. For context, a lot of the viral clips from this show are of Karl reacting to things. He even made a stand FOR women by wearing the same suit for a whole year, saying how little people care about men's clothing compared to women's. The irony however is, women are the ones who care. I personally wear the same outfits to work week in, week out. The point here is, Karl is actually a reason…

IMO this isn't even a gender issue. It is an assets and divorce matter. Could be two dudes splitting, or the guy leaving the girl. The usual rule is everything is split. If something can be sold, IMO it is an asset. And assets get split. Could she not just re-create some of the paintings she has to give him? Isn't that the beauty of art? There is not supposed to be emotion in the courts, or in money. It is what it is. If a person creates an empire (e.g. Bezos or Gates), should they not split it …

The issues relating to overworking and the "70 hour" work week are entirely NOT a gender issue. Notwithstanding, unless she has some whack-ass contract, she should be entitled to some crazy over time or loading. More like, "woman who gets broken up with realises SHE isn't all she is cracked up to be"!

Netball is dominated by girls, and I don't think there was a specific gender requirement. Sometimes there was a few male players, but never an all-male team. Usually (when I grew up) basketball was for boys, netball for girls.

more likely to commit crime I'm sorry, but I stopped there. Statistically, men commit more crimes than women. But that doesn't mean a man or woman is likely or less likely to commit a crime. Committing a crime is a pretty complex thing. Some people would never think of doing so, but if the right circumstances present, they do (like theft). To improve rights for everyone, we need to remove gender from the rhetoric that men or women have inclinations to do something. A more correct writing is "men…

It's not exploitation if it a fair trade. So women X posts up her content for $50, man Y pays that. No one is forcing you to jerk off. Just like no one (presumably) is forcing that woman to post up content on Only Fans. I see the point you're getting to, but everyone is 100% in control of your actions. You are not being exploited if you purchase porn. It's a product and you choose to purchase it. I mean, I have no real idea of what double standard you're describing? For context, I am fully suppo…

Classic case of bias that the article is siding with for... unknown reasons. At least they touch on it in the article. Women not only visit GPs more, but also (apparently) tend to discuss more problems. I know of men who go years and years without a doctors visit. I have been to terrible GPs and good ones. Just shop around? Every visit is free? And always ask to see a specialist if you feel it is required. Take cause for your lives, don't be an effect.

That’s the issue. Somehow people are surprised that men generally earn more than women. Men also generally work more hours than women too. On an Aussie breakfast show a guest on the show used a boiler maker (usually earns over 80k) compared to a child care worker (less than 50k) to illustrate the wage gap. It’s an earnings gap, not a wage gap. Women and men in both industries earn similar dollars.

The woman in the video can't understand the concept of "danger pay". This was a few years ago, when it blew up. There was a woman on Sunrise (a morning talk back program) who compared a boiler maker (male) on over 80k a year, whereas a child care worker (female) would be on perhaps 50k. A totally stupid argument because they're completely different industries. Think of it this way; boiler makers get paid to make stuff for people that usually make the client money. No, they don't make boilers but…

They're not overzealous measures. The problem was the Victorian Government attempted to introduce light measures to curtail new cases, and then they had significant compliance issues. Therefore they had to ramp up measures.

I'm not a huge Will Smith fan (as a person).... not sure why. I just don't think his charisma works on me. It doesn't matter anyway, I respect the man. He has a lot of fantastic advice to living well. Kinda a touchy subject given the latest revelation of their marriage, this is still good advice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMZ2aNnJdx8 People who laugh at other peoples sadness are morally deficient. But that's what people who don't win in life do. They relish the losses of others because the…

The irony is that most girls probably don't want to have sex with a "big" dick. Porn has confused several generations on what a comfortable penis size is.

The only problems are when one party want's the child and another doesn't. I agree that men deserve some say, and that a pregnancy is a shared thing. We need to handle it rationally. If the woman wants the child, and the man doesn't, and the decision is made before abortion can happen, IMO there needs to be changes to what the man is obligated to do and provide. I mean, if a man has made reasonable steps to prevent pregnancy, is he still required to have this child? Food for thought. On the flip…

When you consider, say college graduates in higher paying fields and workplace deaths, it is easier to see why men statistically have a higher annual income than women. A young person with a communication degree (essentially an unspecialized degree) vs a person with a mining engineering degree will have vastly different incomes. Because people (in this case women) choose to not take those jobs is entirely their responsibility. Also, people choose to only show data that supports their cause and i…

Pretty sure I've seen studies that indicate that lack of foreskin results in less pleasurable intercourse for a man. This is mostly due to decreased sensitivity. I will admit, female circumcision also seems horrific, and objectively more so! But both are cruel and should be banned. No one person should modify another persons body unless for pertinent medical reasons or by their own choice.

Hmmmm. This kind of doesn't make sense. Arguably the most trusted politicians ARE female. Examples include Angela Merkel (who is also defacto leader of the EU) and Jacinda Ardern. Just these two examples address several of those claims. Jacinda was elected without children (I think) and is only 39! Yet gets a lot of praise. Competence is in no way related to gender.

My "hack" to essentially say I don't want to date overweight women is just to say I like "active" partners who live a similar lifestyle to me. I mountain bike 50 km to 100km a week. No fat-ass, male or female, will be fat for very long if they can manage that! I feel (and am glad that) the tide seems to be turning on this "positive" fat culture. There is nothing good about being overweight. Nothing! A very small minority of the population has genuine reasons why they cannot maintain a healthy we…

My ex-girlfriend was like this. She wanted to maintain her independence whilst being in a relationship. Okay, I get that but a small amount of co-dependence isn't terrible especially if there is a wage disparity which there almost always is (and not always the male earning more). Being able to be independent is a skill everyone should have though, I'm not denying that. Every guy should be able to cook, clean and wash. Just like every woman should be able to change a tyre, mow a lawn etc. Being a…

Yeah, my ex girlfriend used to pluck mine and it didn’t hurt much at all. She did comment how she was amazed I wasn’t complaining though. All in all though, a pathetic reason to think an entire gender is superior.

Yep. A woman I work with basically wears a momo and flip flops and wonders why everyone thinks she is an idiot (in engineering). She also takes so much leave that no one can understand how. Dress for the job folks!

I would even go far to say if the volume of people warrant it, toilets for both sexes is a no brainer. If there is few people, unisex makes sense. At schools, who on earth would support unisex toilets as a way to promote equality?

Exactly. We already have laws for providing false evidence and the like; my question is when will we actually protect the innocent with them? That poor boy will take years if at all to recover from the emotional pain he most likely went through.

I'd have to look into it, but sports are a different beast and usually not covered by Government awards or a "minimum" wage. Rather, individual or team contracts are negotiated. I believe the comparison in the US was basketball, and the reality was women got a higher proportion of revenue however the overall revenue was less than the men's league so they got less as a net result. There are plenty of sports where women get more air time. But biologically, men are usually best adapted for physical…

The reason why they don't have the data is because it is entirely illegal for men and women to get paid differently for the same job in Australia. The reason why people thought their was a gender pay gap was because men generally work higher paying industries and work more. Reality is, if you want a high paying job, work as a plumber, boiler maker etc and not childcare (which is a theoretically capped wage, and a collapsed industry right now that only survives off government incentives). And is …

As a passenger I hate it when people stand for long periods. But as far as their relationship goes if the guy doesn't mind then that is fine. And if the wife genuinely needed to sleep.

Regardless of gender, cycling through that many jobs is a clear red flag. And a bad attitude like that is sadly common.

That's because critics try and measure comedy by different metrics, rather than laughs. It isn't about anything else except how hard people laugh. So the critic score isn't even relevant. We all know Chappelle is a legend.

It's like that moron on Sunrise about the pay gap where she compared male boiler makers (earning supposedly $40 an hour) to female child care workers (earning supposedly $20 an hour). What was not apparent to this idiot was that gender has nothing to do with pay or how skilled you are in those industries. I mean, Scottie from Mythbusters was an awesome welder and heck, most people can look after kids to a satisfactory level. In Australia, both genders get paid the same per the law, and both gend…

Yep, let's totally sideline half of the available people in the talent pool and things will work out? It can only be detrimental for even the women if they don't actively want the best people, regardless of gender, to surround them.

I think the title is misleading. Notwithstanding, I am looking forward to the day when people simply recognise that the differences in biology mean there are things we just are better at and not so good at. I've read many studies showing how mothers are more beneficial (compared to fathers) in very early development of infants. Additionally, most cultures promote women looking after children from an early age. We're blaming men for wanting to work when really it's society as a whole that needs a…

This whole thing seems like it is working against actual rape victims. I know some women are put off reporting these crimes to police. But if you won't report it, it makes it difficult for it to be believable. Especially when the accused raper is a famous person. I mean, yes, he's a sleaze. He *looks* like someone who is a sleaze. But he still deserves a fair go at the law. I mean, say what you want but he built a successful film company and lost it all. Yet to be convicted of anything. Just ano…

I don't think the girls were in a forced position because forced would imply their safety would be at stake (e.g. she/he was *forced* to shoot him as self defense!). In many of the scenarios the women and him were in a public place and he asked them back to his room. Ethically, not okay. Legally? It shows bad character but I don't think there is an offense there.
