Passive interest on premarital assets??????That makes sense. We used a mutually agreed upon accountant to do my pension valuation. We would be using the same one, I believe it would be 250 per statement, 15 statements if they do annual. We would split the cost of that. As I said in another reply, it’s a profit sharing account and she put no money into it. My lawyer doesn’t think it’s unreasonable, but he doesn’t agree with the multiplier her lawyer came up with. As as far as concessions, her 4x income includes her yearly bonus, which usu… | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/03/23 01:13 AM
Passive interest on premarital assets??????We are not fighting about it….yet. The language in the msa is that she keeps 60k and we split rest. I will read that thread you sent. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/03/23 08:11 PM
Passive interest on premarital assets??????That’s some good info right there. It’s a profit sharing account. She has put nothing into it. In the 20+ years she’s been at that job, there have only been 3 losses on the annual statement. I don’t have the 2022 statement but from eoy 2021 to June 2022, it lost approx 150k. I know I said I don’t want to divulge the actual numbers but I’ll say the balance at the time of filing was well over 500k. There was no language in the msa regarding passive interest or multipliers on her premarital portion… | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/03/23 08:09 PM
Passive interest on premarital assets??????The $60k is her premarital portion. I don’t want to say how much is being split but, I stand to walk away with a lot more than her premarital portion of the account. I gave so many concessions during the divorce process, in an effort to get this thing done, it seems like more concessions are being sought after now that we are getting to the big $$. Just to put things in perspective, she made about 4x my annual. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/03/23 07:18 PM
Wife wants me to sign a leaseUpdate: I filed in April. She filed like a day or two after me. Lawyer told me to keep track of overnights, as it stands….Dad: 130; Mom: 24. I know she never expected this to happen. 12 of the overnights with my stbxw were in April, the initial move-out month. Daughter talks to her mother almost every night but doesn’t want to sleep there. Quote from the stbxw “My child hates me and you’re going to take everything I worked so hard to build”. 🤷♂️ not my concern. I didn’t choose to repeatedly bre… | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/09/22 10:48 PM
Custody scheduleMy stbxw moved out (literally 3 minutes away) in April, with my 12yo daughter. Anyhow, I filed about 2 weeks later. Lawyer told me to keep track of the overnights. As it stands, Dad: 122, Mom: 21, 12 of those nights were from April. We are in 50/50 agreement but the child does not want to sleep there and won’t say why. I couldn’t imagine it being the other way around, but I do keep that in mind when it zones to her mother trying to get her to stay overnight. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/08/22 12:50 AM
Wife wants me to sign a leaseYeah, I'm going to make an appointment with him asap. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/03/22 11:31 PM
Wife wants me to sign a leaseGetting conflicting advice. You file first. Let her file first. This should have happened years ago but in the back of my mind I was hoping for a 180. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/03/22 11:30 PM
Wife wants me to sign a leaseSo, I told her she cannot sell it the last time we discussed this matter. I don't know how factual that is. She's trying to "sell" me on the $ I would get in equity. It will be very difficult for me to rent right now. It's best that I stay where I am plus it's only 3 minutes away from where she is moving. She is taking the child with her. I'm not letting her know that that is also a bad move. We plan on 50/50 custody but I don't think she even knows there should be a temporary parenting plan in … | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/03/22 11:03 PM
Wife wants me to sign a leaseShe claims she can't afford to pay for both places. Not my problem. No one told her to move. I actually offered to pay 1/2 but she wants whole. She's renting with her mother. My mother lives with us and feels that I shoukd not live for free. I understand that but stheneife just refused to do things the right way. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/03/22 10:55 PM
She did not shed one tearI hear ya. Thats what everyone is telling me. I will be much happier and will find someone deserving of me. Scary proposition at 50, in my eyes. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/02/22 04:55 AM
She did not shed one tearThat's what I told my mother. The experts recommend telling the chikd(ren) together. she doesn't get it, maybe she's old school or maybe she didn't have to do it bc my father was gone within a year of them arriving here and I was only 1.5 years young. He always lived within walking distance though. That was very beneficial. She feels that since my wife is the one who wants/needs to move out, she should be the one telling the child. My ch8ld told me that she is worried thst I will have no one to … | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/02/22 04:52 AM
She did not shed one tearYou're right. Thank you. And thank you for using naive vs dumb. 👍👍 | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/02/22 06:07 AM
She did not shed one tearWe disconnected the indoor camera years ago. I don't know if she would go that far but she has done stuff that not even the 20's version of me would do...and that dude was wild. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/02/22 05:57 AM
She did not shed one tearYes sir..she hasn't left yet, but all my reading says it's a bad move especially with children. I'll,give her all the rope she needs. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/02/22 05:54 AM
Keep current job or seek newThanks. That seems like the most popular opinion. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/08/21 03:05 PM
Keep current job or seek newI would never. I have never even raised my voice at her. The day I blew the whole thing up (aka let the unknowing spouse, finally, know) she tried to say she was scared blah blah blah. I told her to go to the police station & get a restraining order. Make sure you tell them all the details as to why, all of a sudden after 12 years, you are now scared. Tell them I'm "tracking you" aka you fell asleep with your phone open allowing me factual confirmation. I don't know if she went but no police eve… | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/08/21 05:08 AM
Keep current job or seek newThat's what I was thinking. She can have the room when she is over. My mother would be there also though but I don't know for how much longer. She does plan to move to her house in GA at some point in 2022. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/08/21 04:57 AM
Keep current job or seek newThank you. the day I dropped the atomic bomb on her extracurriculars I told her that I'm not leaving until I have paperwork in my hand. I guess that's why she was in such a rush to sell all of a sudden...and being sneaky about what was supposed to happen after the sale. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/08/21 04:55 AM
Keep current job or seek newThere's actually so much more but that was the shortest I could keep it. Thanks for the insight. Yes, I'm home way before her. We (the child & I) were both remote then we both went hybrid. So even in covid time, I was first home. I left out that my mother lives with us, for now, but will be moving to her house in GA in the near future. Her mother is supposed to move in with her when she leaves, but I don't really know if thats happening. The control freak & the control freak apprentice under the… | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/08/21 04:53 AM
