If I was you I would ask myself one question. Do I love this woman and do I want to spend the rest of my life with her? If the answer is yes than stay and fight to make it better. If the answer is no, then I think you both would be happier apart.

Hey man I got a 2 year old daughter and my wife am I have been having problems since the beginning of our marriage. I feel your pain. So worried about my daughter because I love her so much and want her to grow up in a loving family. What are you scared of exactly?

Go read Yelp reviews of lawyers near you. Then message some of the men that have left good reviews and ask them questions. I did this, and you would be surprised how many men are eager to help. Reminds me of this sub. Anyways I found a good lawyer this way just haven’t had to hire her full time yet.

Wow Thank you for breaking this down for me. That was kind of my thought process too. I understand the advice from other men about waiting so I would pay less spousal and child support. But waiting also could mean paying a lot more in the long run. The way my wife sees it, is that she has zero incentive to get a job when she knows I will do everything to support my daughter, and as long as they are under the same roof everything is safe and paid for.

I will try. But unless she has a reason to get a job she won’t because she wants to be with our daughter all the time.

She won’t look for a job unless she know she’s about to be put out on the street.

Yeah I learned that the hard way!

Yeah, you get cheated on and they think you must have done something to make her cheat. Ridiculous.

Solid advice. Thank you brother I really appreciate it. She doesn’t work but she’s the type to not really put in any effort to finding a job because she knows I’m paying for everything. The only time she has looked for work is when I threatened divorce the last time. Good news is I control all the finances. We have separate bank accounts and I have our entire savings and all the bills are paid by me. And yes I am super involved in my daughters life. I spend all my free time with her.

This did it right here for me. The answer to that question is an absolute “NO” I don’t want my daughter to see her father being miserable and resentful for the rest of his life. I want her to see me as a happy man who loves her to death. And I want her to know that if she is ever miserable in a marriage she can always leave and has a place with me. Thank you so much friend.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply and for all the great advice. I will meet with a lawyer ASAP. Should I still do a DNA test if she looks just like me?

Thanks for the response. Yeah you are right I want to get out before I find myself in the same situation 10 years down the line.

I don’t think you are being a dick. I need someone to tell me that because in my mind my fears of divorce creep in and paralyze me.

Should I get a DNA test even if she looks just like me haha? She won’t leave, she doesn’t work and has no place to go. Going to make another post regarding this.

Omg yes. She sucks the life out of me. She turns me into a zombie I feel like where the only thing I look forward to is going to work and going to sleep.

Are they better now?
/r/Divorce_Men28/04/21 03:33 PM

Man that’s exactly what has kept me for so long. Is the desire for my daughter to grow up with both parents.
/r/Divorce_Men28/04/21 03:33 PM

That’s what I’m thinking about
/r/Divorce_Men28/04/21 03:32 PM

She got pregnant 2 months in “on accident”. I’m stuck because of my daughter.

Holy crap that sounds awful. So what did you end up doing? Definitely think she has BPD or something undiagnosed. But any hint at that and she goes bonkers!
/r/Divorce_Men28/04/21 04:49 AM

Damn that’s good advice
/r/Divorce_Men28/04/21 04:36 AM

Dude fuck that. She don’t respect you at all. Man up brother.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
