This comes up every time it's posted. That station has the one set of gates and both are for in and out. She had already scanned her card, do if she hadn't pushed through she would have been paying for him to exit. Edit: Sorry, guys. Totally missed which sub this was posted in. Maybe I'll go to freefolk and say I liked season 8 next.

Yeah, everyone in this thread, their brother, their brother's ex roommate and his father in law were victims of false accusation, and despite the fact that such things are studied heavily in the US, ya'll have fuckall numbers to back it up, apart from a bunch of stories and anectdotal accounts. One guy posted a blog post that failed to debunk a totally different issue, so that was at least close. I'd stick around, but you can't educate a man who believes learning is losing.

You have any data backing up your point? If many cases are shipped for lack of evidence, there must be numbers to bolster that claim right?

You got numbers or just assertions?

But hard data contradicts that. Sure murder victims aren't literally talking, but close to 100% of murders get investigated, whereas only a faction of rapes (the percent is uncertain) are investigated.

You're saying people don't instinctively side with murder victims?

By your metric (confirmed being different than true) we're prevented from ever saying we know anything represented in any records, because you can just say "confirmed isn't true" the reality is that even though they aren't the same by definition, many confirmed events can be very reliably linked to a similar number of true events. Particularly when confirmation is strictly done.

Sorry to be telling you something don't want to hear. But theres no other way to put it, a person is waaaaay more likely to be falsely convicted of murder no matter how it's worded, and much much much more likely to be actually raped.

There's probably some of that, but its also reasonable to consider that the occurrence of false accusations is probably as common in places with good enforcement mechanisms as they are in places with broken systems. Which is to say they're extremely rare, unless you count unverifiable online anectdotes. For instance, I bet there are more claims of false accusations in this thread than there have been actual verifiable false accusations in the US in the last couple decades. Again, you're waaaaaaa…

Calm down neckbeards: According to the National Registry of Exonerations, since records began in 1989, in the US there are only 52 cases where men convicted of sexual assault were exonerated because it turned out they were falsely accused. By way of comparison, in the same period, there are 790 cases in which people were exonerated for murder. Source Tl;DR false rape allegations happen, but it's rare that they result in anything. You're like 16 times more likely to be falsely convicted of murder…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
