I feel for you, and I'm sorry this was done to you. It seems obvious to me that letting a stranger take your baby away and inflict dreadful pain on him by cutting off the most sensitive part of his body is a frightful betrayal. And yes, it does hurt. The babies scream and sob. Not remembering this does not men it doesn't affect a person's psyche long term.
