Popped on over there to check it out, and hooooolllllyyyyy fuuuuuck. What a miserable, hateful bunch. TIL I'm a "scrote". And a potential rapist. And certainly not an "HVM". That sub is a showplace for damaged goods.

The purpose of sex is procreation Yes, but most people engage in sex for pleasure from time to time without wanting to get pregnant. Like, a lot. Probably a lot more often by far for pleasure than procreation. But most people don't do things that's sole purpose is to break their legs So you're saying the "sole purpose" of sex is pregnancy? No, I'm sure you're not, so I won't put words in your mouth, but surely you see the error in your reasoning? Just like birth control to prevent pregnancy, mot…

No, but sometimes they choose to engage in activities that might make a broken leg more probable than would be for an average person. Hey buddy, I see you got a broken leg. Now, I might be inclined to give you my seat, but it depends on how you answer my next question - did you break that leg riding a motorcycle or skiing, or did something happen to you that wasn't your fault? I'm all about denying a pussy pass, but some of you seem to just straight up hate women, and want to find any excuse, no…

If your LIE has the potential to put someone in prison for any period of time, then you should face the same penalty. With a flick of your tongue you can ruin a life, take decades away from someone and their family. There has to be consequences for that. If you're ready to do that to someone who isn't guilty, then you better be ready to face some music.

Not necessarily, but it can be used as justification for a very very very super-late-term abortion for you.

"OP is willing to forgive the first DUI..." That's not what I took away from OP's statement. I think he's saying we're all human and make mistakes, but that the talk of probable future violations during the course of sentencing for the violation currently on the table speaks volumes of the sense of entitlement on the part of the judge. edit; by "judge" I am referring to the defendant, not the presiding judge

How do you make that change? It all depends on what your issues stem from. For me it was an abusive childhood, followed by bad choices in my teens, which led to years of substance abuse well into my 30s. My first step was leaving home at 17. Street life was better than what I was leaving behind. I worked shit jobs, and had shit living arrangements, but it proved to me that I was indeed a person, and I could make things happen if I put in the effort. Yes, I was finally a person. That's how poorly…

I understand your mindset. I've been there. But it's on you to change your perception of yourself. There is NO reason you can't have what everyone else has. That door is open to you, but you have take that first step through it.

Stepping stone, bro. Keep writing that next chapter. And never let go of that "who am I to judge?" philosophy when you finally get to the top of the heap - it will serve you well.

Not defending men hitting women, but "sucker punch"? No. She chose to be front and center, in the thick of things with a group known for engaging in violence. She really has nothing to cry about.

I'm just the guy behind the counter at dealership service department. But our brand, and the owner of our dealership, give us a lot of leeway when it comes to making these kinds of decisions. I live in an affluent area, so we don't have a lot of people who can't afford maintenance, but there are a few. I have my own personal set of rules when it comes to this kind of "assistance". Number 1 is; I have to like you. If I don't like you (and you have to be a real shithead for that), then helping you…

Damn near every major corporation engages in some form charitable giving. And yes, it all comes from the profits they made from doing business with paying customers. I don't have a problem paying the fraction of a cent that I already do on each transaction for something like this. Theft and shoplifting add more to the cost of goods than charity does.

Well, being an adult, and a grown man, I would realize that this in no way affects me. It does me no harm, or wrongs me in any way, or takes anything away from me for something like this to happen. I would be paying the same for my tires either way. Why? What would you do? Complain?

Can't upvote this enough. But seriously...how in the hell does this act of generosity engender such anger in another?

You seem the type to find fault with everything. The type that has a negative answer for everything. I don't know what happened in your life to make you this way, nor do I care. But I genuinely hope that some part of you one day grows tired of such a dreary existence, and starts looking at life a little differently.

You guys are getting angry about an imaginary future scenario that hasn't even happened yet. What the hell is wrong with you guys?

While your use of the word "discrimination" is tecnically correct (according to the dictionary), it's not the illegal or socially unacceptable type that you're trying to make it out to be. Nice try, though.

Assuming you're right (which I'm not, but I'll play along anyway), I'd be willing to bet Firestone gives their manager's discretion to do this type of thing on occasion. They're a huge company with deep pockets, and this type of thing is good PR.

Well, you kind of come off as not so nice, so it's not likely that I'd want to deal with you at all in the first place, even as a paying customer. It's even much less likely I'd use my discretion to help you out with any freebies.

Instead of doing what with the children? They're her children. Where else are they supposed to be, but with her?

Well, for starters - be a regular customer, your service history should demonstrate that you at least make an attempt to regularly maintain your car. Don't try to haggle every damn thing every time you come in. Don't be that guy that keeps my loaner car 4 days after I call you to tell your car is ready. And, most importantly - don't be a dick. But it's a case-by-case thing. No one is guaranteed any help whatsoever. It's 100% discretionary.

We budget for this kind of thing so we can do this kind of thing when we see fit. Word-of-mouth is good for business.

I work at a car dealership. I have the discretion to help people out in certain circumstances. I've written off bigger tickets than this this many a time. The gender of the customer has never influenced my decision.

No. A "pass" is getting away with a crime or misdeed unpunished. This a generous shopkeeper extending a kind act of generosity to a needy family. The recipient just happens to be a female.
