Parenting plans: We have the same basic mindset of a strict home but I plan for freedom of expression in my house and instead of stifling debate in the house I would encourage it. For Boys I would make them super resouceful and actually take time to build stuff for them but during the way i would teach them the importance of strategy and hard work. Just my 2 cents.

Good points. But you should make it clear what bad behaviors are and tell them why they got the punishment and offer them alternative actions next time. Like instead of taking the cookie out the cookie jar, ask me to help you learn how to bake cookies and after have a play date with your peers and serve them your cookies.

You need to be consistent with your punishments. Your discipline must follow any orderly pattern. You train a dog in the if I tell you A and you do B you will get C. If you keep on mixing it up the dog will get confused and not know which actions lead to which consequences and what is bad behavior
