Oh, I sent a couple of replies. Polite ones. Specifically, "If you'd want to meet up you would have to come to my home because of security concerns, but there are two security checks to get onto the premises and I don't give clearance to people online just like that", and "I'm not interested to give you my phone number, sorry." If it's not a straight out marriage proposal or just a hello/salaam, I will reply. I will even reply to those sorts of messages if I have nothing else to do. And yes, I'm…

Oh, I'm not denying it's happening. Just saying that sometimes, maybe we're actually right. Of course calling every guy who is interested in us where we don't reciprocate "creepy" isn't good. The incident with my reddit profile was, coincidentally, a bit creepy because it's just bad protocol to send someone (gender is irrelevant here) multiple messages on a dating site, feeling entitled to an answer. I message people; I don't go in expecting an answer and don't get upset when I don't or send lot…

I don't think it's as simple as that. Say, it's a dating website. If someone sends me a badly spelled marriage proposal out of the blue, or references my reddit profile while acting offended, I'll find that creepy, no matter how attractive he is. If someone sends me a well thought out message that doesn't somehow manage to offend me, it's cool. Also, I have a ridiculously attractive friend. We're cool as friends and I am attracted to him but his "strategy" has been so creepy it actually turned m…

I wouldn't say generally. I've been out of the game with men from societies where dating is not taboo for a while now, so it's a bit different for me anyway.

As a woman having been with guys who learned pickup and ones who didn't, all else being equal (as far as that goes), I tend to prefer the former. A lot. I've even gone as far as telling someone that I don't really want to be with him unless he starts learning how women want to be treated because unintentional blunders can hurt really badly.

Casually taking roofies used to be a thing years ago anyway. Honestly, though, they used to be 1. the only benzo that ever did anything for me (anything positive anyway), and 2. I kinda got them for free for a couple of years.

As a girl, when I did smoke one of the main effects was that I became entirely uninterested in guys. Same for most other drugs (including roofies). Maybe I'm just odd.

I'm not sure you understand what I mean by that, then. Generally anything I'm interested in, or become interested in, will be a nerd interest because that's just how my brain works. It's not so much that I want to put it in a category, it's more that for some people, things are only of interest if they fit into that category somehow because of how these people like to think.

I can sort of see that trend, I suppose. The thing is, if you can wear tailored clothes, it's really great to do it (even for casual wear). The only reason I don't get everything tailored here in the UK is that it's obviously a pretty significant price increase. They have a "what are you wearing today" thing now where there's a lot more casual (or at least less formal) clothing, did they have it before?

I think MFA is actually better in that department than FFA (by a lot) - there's talk about casual style and it's obviously gonna cater to the mainstream more, I think that's kind of unavoidable; in FFA it's all "look at my prom dress" and I'm sitting there thinking, I never wear Western clothes, this subreddit is pretty useless for me. I have to make a post there once I've been to the tailor next week or so. All that being said, for me fashion is kind of a nerd interest. But then, I barely ever …

I've somehow received the title "nerdiest person of the year" at uni - doing a science degree at a decent university (UK top 5), so I'd say it must mean something. I also don't seem to have much trouble attracting people - like, "let's have babies, three or so" attracting. It's not impossible to be nerdy and hot. The problem is that it seems to be fairly uncommon for people to be nerdy and stylish, but that's easily fixed by just making fashion a nerd interest.

My child support actually ended at 12; never mind that. I was never talking about university level education. I paid higher tuition fees at school (or rather didn't - had a scholarship) than I do at university and it wasn't even boarding school.

The last sentence is realistic in the context of the whole post - there are ridiculously expensive boarding schools out there. I actually believe that sending a kid to an upper class boarding school for a year or two is a good decision, myself. Obviously it doesn't have to cost 20k, but it totally can. For me personally, that school was the only shot I had of not living in an orphanage. Not getting the funding hurt. Badly.

The thing about working holidays is that they're 50% work, 50% time off. If you've talked to people from international volunteer groups, they might have told you that while working with them will cost you money, working in the countries they work in for local companies can actually pay quite well, and they're really eager to get in people from the West in some places! I haven't looked into SE Asia (it's on my list of options for 2013), but I'm going to South Asia for 3½ months this year and depe…

Just saying, I applied for a school that had 30k a month fees. Didn't get a scholarship to pay for it, so didn't go to the school. It's really easy to spend that much money on a child, and even to do so in a somewhat meaningful way.

Completely off topic here, but the presumption that exotic vacations end up costing you much money (or, if you really know what you're doing, any) is wrong. It obviously depends on what qualifications you have and such but working holidays in exotic places tend to be rather profitable and easy to get. Well, depending in your definition of exotic.

As a woman, I never got this - if I'm dating a guy and he doesn't look at porn or other girls (while still obviously being heterosexual) or masturbate at all, it just makes me think something's up. I've been informed that some people really are that monogamous. I hate it. I hate being the sole outlet for any person's sexual (and, actually, emotional) needs. And what other outlets they have should be up to them, as long as it doesn't negatively affect me.

Lots of people have servants. I know some people in England who get their washing and ironing done for £15 a week.
