You should learn how women think from women. And let me pause here before someone takes this as “well they act like this so this is how they think” no that’s not it, that’s an interpretation. Same way you don’t think being an insecure person is a guide of your actions, being an “emotional creature” does not guide women. Despite what you think it looks like. I’d read up on female authors or listen to female podcasts if you want to hear actual thought processes. Edit: There’s no pining down a way …

Listening to a man tell people how women think is like a woman trying to tell people what a kick in the balls “actually” feels like.

avoid insulting all women You just did with this entire post. It’s one big generalization and demonizes women

Riiight. Agree to disagree on that one

Some women do. In hindsight it was a very silly thing but it never made me not want to talk or get to know someone over.

Wouldn’t this result in people being less likely to swipe on people they like due to feeling intimidated or less likely to stand out among the persons other matches? I think that would make less people use dating apps overall rather than make dating apps healthier.

What are you even talking about? Are you saying preferences can’t change? They do all the time for various reasons. I’ve had my preferences change over the years both in physical and mental aspects. I’d argue most people do. A person who experiences no growth or change of opinion throughout their life sounds more like a child than anything else

Even if they were to get divorced, that wouldn’t have anything to do with preference

Not entirely true, fit means something different to a lot of people.

Standards and preferences are absolutely not the same thing. Example: I preferred brown haired men over blonde blue eyed men because it’s just what I leaned towards, but now I’m with a blonde guy who I chose through a dating app. I had dates with guys before and after my first date with him who had fit my normal preferences but I didn’t like them as much and proceeded to solely date my current partner. I had options but it was just a preference, not an end all be all thing I needed and now I don…

They were pretty harsh and had some ridiculous ideas

I think a lot of people on this sub confuse preferences to standards. Preference = a greater liking for one alternative over another or others. Standard = the rules that you set for yourself and follow in your life. Preferences can change or be overridden by other factors but standard is saying it can’t be because it’s below what’s acceptable.

To the survey you linked I would keep in mind you shouldn’t take that as a take on the overall population as the survey you linked to even says “Most women who filled out our survey are thin, exercise, and eat well. 76% of them are American, and 82% are between the ages of 18 and 39. This doesn’t line up perfectly with the general population.” With that said there is definitely less representation more plus sized males in the modeling industry and that should change, however when you look at act…

Well I’m not only referring to women here as anyone can be victims of this, but more specifically I was talking about various cases of child pornography as well as the use of video without the persons consent or filming without consent: https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/real-life/found-out-father-kids-paedophile-27029778.amp https://www.theargus.co.uk/news/19176886.amp/, https://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/what-happened-hunter-moore-most-27582354.amp https://www.cnn.com/2015/02/06/asia/japan-ra…

True, I was envisioning online sites and stories. It totally slipped my mind that people read physical versions. In that case then my opinion then depends on the form it’s being consumed in.

I guess I’m just not seeing the issue here. Who would be “in your league” if not people that want to be with you. And if the end result is hardly anyone (Which I find a bit hard to believe) then that’s just how things are as you can’t expect people to make themselves attracted to other people. I’m not sure what the solution here is.

I’d put those on the same level

Love is real but I don’t believe in only one person meant for another person. I think you commit to someone and make it work rather than things being meant to work out because of fate. I do think there’s someone for everyone, but it’s definitely more tricky for some than for others to find. Relationships are transactional in the sense that both people are giving love and affection in return for love and affection I think generally yes there’s a power imbalance from a social standpoint but in ter…

The only reason I would say it is less harmful (as I agree with some of your points) is because there’s more assurance that everything you’re reading is entirely fictional whereas in various porn sites there has been cases where videos were put up without the consent of one party, someone was actually backed into a corner or are being taken advantage of. With the stories you don’t really have to worry about contributing to any of that.

I think it matters. If someone presents themselves one way on date one and then date two they are maybe more obnoxious or gross or rude, these things would usually kill it.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/23 06:33 PM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
