I've had some of the strongest relationships with people I met training BJJ. When I was in Hawaii with an instructor of mine who was doing seminars out there, I had people I had met there inviting me over next time to stay with them, hook me up on hotel deals, going to go surfing, etc. ... Yea, train BJJ, be cool with people, and you'd be amazed how many doors open up.

I used to think the same thing.. Then I got into Brazilian jiu jitsu. You quickly find out who the legends are of the art- and one of the greatest of all time is Rickson Gracie. a few different hobbies, for a few different reasons... For me, a girlfriend is going to have to be somebody that enhances my overall life experience and make things a little more convenient. What's worked for me has been keeping good eye contact. It was hard at first, but I practiced it with all my interactions with people. It's amazing how many people feel intimidated just because you're engaged visually. I think that "intimidation" is what a lot of girls get off on. 2 recent girls I've been with have mentioned it to me. It also keeps you from talking too much.

I was in a similar situation dealing with what felt like betrayal. Except you realize that it wasn't betrayal, it was a revelation. What I ended up doing was taking the high road. People like this aren't worth my time. You will cross paths again, and he'll know.. I ran into my former friend at a wedding. We ended up making small talk. I was cordial, but looked directly into his eyes when i spoke to him. He couldn't even look at me.. the whole ordeal gets funny after a while.

I've been doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as well as competing in tournaments. I found TRP shortly after and it was the perfect compliment to the mindset I was beginning to harvest by doing it. I don't know where you are, but I'd recommend some Brazilian jiu jitsu if it's available. Staying in shape is great. Learning how to defend yourself is amazing. On a deeper level, it constantly introduces you to reality. You have to deal with that reality to get in a position that is beneficial or advantageous to you. A few reasons: I asked him a few times if he was going to date her and he repeatedly said he wasn't. Citing her anti-social ways, pill 'problem' (anti-anxiety meds), and negative persona... When that turned out to be a lie, I decided that I wasn't going to be friends with someone that lies like that. Another reason being that I feel weak minded, non confrontational guys aren't a good influence for my inner circle of friends.. so this kind of exposed it to me.
