It wasn't arbitrary. It was based on specific harassment of individuals (in this case, the imgur staff, for refusing to host FPH images). I really don't know how anyone can think that MR (a group fighting for a vision of equality) could ever be compared to FPH (an active and confessed hate group).

I actually quite liked what Watson had to say (by the standard of what most feminists say in speeches like that - at least she didn't try to set this up as a gender war and denounce all men as oppressors), but that letter was excellent.

Fez was hugely popular and well received (though I got bored of it after a couple of hours). But subsequently he was completely out of ideas for a new game and tried to make excuses about hating the industry and not wanting to please gamers to cover it up. And as seen in the image, he's a massive douche. Still doesn't really deserve what happened to him though.

The UK actually isn't bad as things go. Domestic violence and sexual assault campaigns are always gender neutral. Affirmative action is illegal. I believe car insurance discrimination based on gender is illegal as well.

I'm inclined to agree with you there. I'm not sure I understand what banning sex work would even achieve. You are saying to the sex worker "No, you don't really enjoy that, society just tries to trick you into thinking you do". And the sex worker loses a job she enjoys, and her customers lose out on a service. But the anti-objectification people are happy because they are convinced that they have helped somebody out.

The argument they make is that you can never really tell when a woman is doing what she wants and what society has convinced her to do. But isn't everything you do something your surroundings have convinced you to do? I doubt anyone comes out of the womb with a career path in mind.

I wouldn't really call that a war on women. That's a war on abortion which is motivated by the belief that life begins at conception, not by misogyny. I fully support legal abortion myself, but pro-choice people really love to paint everyone who opposes abortion as some sort of male supremacist, and that just isn't true.

Aside from the fact that nobody has ever said that dressing in a provocative manner causes rape or in any way makes you responsible for being raped, it's rather silly to blame genitals for the crime of rape. That's a little like blaming guns for the crime of murder.

Yes, this is overkill. One man in a country of 300 million people was assaulted by his landlady for a brief period of time on one day of his life. It isn't remotely practical to permanently record everything that ever happens around you. Honestly, most likely you are going to be absolutely fine. It's easy to think "that could happen to me", but you take far greater risks on a daily basis. Don't let neurosis interfere with your life.

A lot of this chart is pretty accurate. However, the suggestion that male masturbation is at all socially stigmatised is the most ludicrous thing I've heard today. It's interesting to note that most of that is down to men rather than women. You can't keep a group of people that size down without their consent. Indeed, the same happened to women before the 20th century. EDIT: I know this comment is terrible but I'll leave it up anyway

I don't think either of these things is objectifying, really. Finding a man attractive is not objectification. Finding a woman attractive is not objectification. It's a natural feeling and not something that needs to be controlled. As long as you just look and admire and don't cross the terrible line into harassing or harming the person involved, I don't see the problem.

I don't see how the GCSEs are a feminised examination. "The whole world is built to be easier for men" is a despicable feminist line, and we shouldn't be stealing it. The GCSEs are awful, but they're awful for both genders. We have no more duty to force boys to do better in school than to force women to do better in the workplace.

The difference is that /r/mensrights doesn't represent male supremacism, and does represent the views of men's rights activists. The feminist lobby has grown extremely powerful in the last few decades. The MRA lobby has not. Men's rights activism is not mainstream and is widely derided, as the original form of feminism (which I wholeheartedly support) was back in the 1920s and 30s. There are places where women can't wear makeup, have to cover their whole bodies, cant's rive, can't go to school, have to get married at 13. Sweden is not one of those places. You can't average out gender inequality by saying "men are superior in the Arab world, therefore women should be superior in Europe and the USA". I would have a lot more respect for many feminists if they focused more on the awful treatment of women in the Middle East than on how men urinate.
