From the data I’ve come across, one of the things about ultra-marathons is that in doesn’t feature top athletes the way other races do. In other types of races that are included in the olympics for instance, men and women’s performances are barely in the same ball park due to it have peak male athletes in it. When it comes to ultra marathons, there’s been a lot of articles about not the supposed superiority of female runners in marathons but if you examine the data you’ll find that female runners were able to narrow the gap in some some ultra-marathons with men still having the best performance. I suppose you could say women do alright in it but I think these articles are exaggerating quite a bit in making it out to be something that it’s not.

I was thinking you might have had been accurate in your assessment until the “female is the default human position”line which quite simply isn’t true. The default human position line is for the most part sexless untill the sex hormones start to come in. Also men still dominate women in ultradistance running so that wasn’t really a compelling example. Also the article does misrepresents the findings and given that the difffence in mortality seems to largely come down to choice, it’s a rather sill…

I don't really see how it's a liberation for lesbians. It's not like these lesbians are going to magically convert the straight women whom are probably well over 98% of the female popular.
