My partner’s sexual past is none of my business. Nor mine theirs. Unless it resulted in a child or incurable disease, what do I need to know? I think it’s fine to discuss your past a little. We are both aware that the other has a past. We even know each other most recent exes (we were friends before getting together.) We have mentioned other exes to each other by name, relating stories and life experiences. But we don’t talk numbers, one night stands, or details about our past sex lives.

I think some of has to with society’s current beauty standards. There was a day when big blue eyes, blonde hair, baby faces and flat asses were the thing. Now it’s exotic, dark hair, dark cat eyes and big ol’ butts and thighs. Remember Pamela Anderson? She was the Kim Kardashian of her time (in a way) Follow the beauty ideals back to the 70’s. We’re just in a new phase. But as a whole I really like the idea this post presents and could happily discuss/debate it at length.

Look at rappers who married women before they made it big who are still married to those very regular looking women. They didn’t trade up.
