When my ex asked for anal, I responded “Only if I get to do you first” (pegging is a kink of mine) and the extreme level of disgust he showed only proved to me that he saw anal as an act of dominance and degradation, not of sexual pleasure.

Sending love your way sis <3 the toughest lessons are also the most valuable. I’ve also been there. Your HVM is out there, and they will cherish you and respect you beyond what you may think is possible 🖤🖤🖤

“But he’s not an asshole ALL the time” = GET OUT.

Having standards and anchors ensures that you PUT. YOURSELF. FIRST. You’re absolutely right that your person, your HVM, would NEVER ask you to give up parts of yourself, they would cherish all the parts of you that make you YOU. They’re out there, you will find them 🖤

I understand what you mean. A man can look perfect on paper, and it’s important to keep to your standards, but you can’t reason your way into passion. Sending love your way, I know that it’s hard. But you did what was best for YOU and that is always the right choice. 🖤🖤🖤

LVM believe they’re entitled to the emotional labor and martyrdom of women. They’re FLOORED when we expect more than the bare minimum from. PUT. YOURSELF. FIRST.

This is a great comment. Dating can be tricky, and I think sometimes women finds themselves compromising too much on what makes a man “great” with all the caveats. “He does this BUT...” The biggest “BUT” in a relationship should be mine and the man I’m with better love it

You’re not dumb!! Ideally, the answer should be yes. A HVM will recognize your value and will try to meet your needs and wants to the fullest, maybe even above that.

This is so true!!! Sub-question to this thought- would I be okay with him acting this way towards/in front of my daughter? A lot of times, a father acts as a model for the type of man she believes she deserves. Our daughters deserve High Value Fathers, too!

I could’ve saved so much time and heartache if I had bothered to consider these things when I was younger. It took being manipulated into almost ruining my life for a LVM for me to wake up and actually think about what I was doing. Now I don’t even bother trying unless the guy can make it through my rounds of internal questions/standards.

I struggle between wanting to be independent of male attention and not giving af, and wanting to be wanted :/ is there a way to have both? I want to be my own person but I also want to be appreciated.

I think I struggle with this because I feel like no one will ever naturally treat me the way I want/need.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
