It's been a while since I've looked through the r/mensrights and theredpill subreddits, but I didn't get the impression that MRAs necessarily have the same ideas as redpillers. Have the communities changed in the past few years? Although it is interesting, the title "The Red Pill" seems misrepresentative of the mensrights community. Maybe there is overlap that I'm not aware of?

I don't see why there needs to be a gender distinction between 'types' of play. I remember playing red rover, dodgeball, kickball, jump roping and flipping around on metal bars with other kids, both boys and girls, in elementary school. Once my sister sprained her wrist on some monkey bars. One point of this article mentioned how static playground equipment is too "safe" and boring. When was the last time you saw a sweet see-saw or a freaking merry-go-round on a playground? Are these more likely…

I think the title of this post is kinda misleading; it's worded like the rules applied only to guys. All children were granted more playtime freedom, and that is a great thing :D

I have a personal rule that name tattoos should only be of people who are dead or blood-related. Initials are probably fine because if she ever changes her mind, she can easily get a cover up

Ok, I'm going to make assumptions and crunch some numbers but I'm going to try to throw down some logistics on where this money went. She raised $158,000 total. -$7,900 (5% of funds raised go to Kickstarter) = at least $150,100 in income in 2012 I don't exactly know how taxes work, but the 2012 income tax rates for at least that amount for the U.S. is 28% (-$42,028), and for California's state income tax is $2,154 + 9.3% (-$16,113). So after just state and federal income taxes (I don't know how …

I find it difficult to see her videos as complete shit. Identifying and criticizing cultural norms is basically asking "Why do we do what we do?", and I don't think that's a stupid question to ask. I suppose it might seem too many people are trying to answer that question and any interesting debate that could arise from it is getting congested in the details. Even if her work is full of confirmation bias, I think it offers a different perspective of a medium that's often not taken seriously. She…

I share pretty much these same feelings. One thing I try to do is genuinely smile when I see guys (or anyone) more. I noticed that I had a tendency to awkwardly shift my eyes away from guys I don't know, but I realized that's really weird and there's not a real reason I should feel uncomfortable (Also, in the rare case the person I walked past attacked me for some unusual reason, I would be more likely to recognize their face than if I went all shifty-eyed). So I make an effort to hold open door…

Everyone should have the freedom to enjoy swings! At all my local kid parks they have an age bracket posted, so they would probably use that to kick out any unwanted 'intruders'. In my hometown there are some public parks and sidewalks with workout bar things along the track, which is nice, but it's sad not everywhere has these kinds of things. I wish they had swings though.

oh yeah, /u/rpwthrowaway I definitely relate to your thought process in this thread. Personally, I find it hard to read r/trp because while I can understand there are differences between men and women, I just kind of cringe when sweeping generalizations are made. Like, the 'shit test' posts just give me a headache. I may dislike things they say, but who am I to tell them how to live or think? If it makes them happier, and nothing illegal's happening, great. I think the problem with feminism and …

So I stumbled upon the red pill a little while back, and I am going to try to give as a concise answer as I can of what I've taken away from this philosophy. I think that while it's great to have women being independent and pursuing fulfilling careers, there are women who choose to live a more traditional, feminine lifestyle that makes them happy. I've decided that all the terms thrown around like 'beta' and 'alpha' are just too confusing and label-y for me to practically use on a daily basis, s…

I really want to pursue the field of Optometry. I have a college fund, a prepaid thing, and a scholarship. So as long as I stay focused and do well, I should fly through college relatively debt-free. I'm not opposed to getting married in college/grad school, but I don't think a having a child is the easiest way to begin a career.

Men's rights always finds a way to make me reevaluate sources. I stumbled upon this site a few years ago, and I think it introduced me to problems men face and made me want to understand more. I think suggesting a better call-to-action would be more beneficial than just focusing on the mistakes (2-5, which the Facebook comment thoroughly addresses). I found myself agreeing with most of the rest of the article's content (fb comment agreed with some points too?), but from the comments it sounds li…

Haha, was this post inspired by our discussion? Edit: after reading more closely into your post; I just want to give a shout out to the asexuals who don't have this problem xD

I mean if her sexual history is concerning, go get tested together? Talk to her about why it changes your view of her? I mean if she has stayed safe and clean, I would try to encourage someone to try and move past this because she can't go un-sex those past partners. I mean it sucks to be judged for something you can't change, but her relatively high-risk actions may have unexpected, regrettable consequences. One consequence being that a future partner is uncomfortable with her sexual history. D…

I think it's just difficult to be positive about people dying, because dying for something doesn't always make you a hero. I'd rather support examples of the great male writers, teachers, scientists and crafters. I think it's important to honor our firefighters, military service men, and police men, but it's harder for me to project a positive, uplifting image concerning those who have died. I still feel great respect for these men.

I find it difficult to imagine that many guys would speak up and actively express a negative reaction to the female objectifier. This could be for many different reasons, either being unoffended by the comment or being offended/bothered by the comment but believe it would be weird/awkward to call out this out-of-line employee. The latter reaction could be perceived as shy, and thus the employee is probably not getting any negative feedback for her behavior. In an ideal world, the apologetic co-w…

I thought gender is used for someone's pronoun preference and identity, and sex is a biological identifier (XX, XY, XXX, etc.). This particular part bothered me: "Regardless of whether or not a sex change actually changes your gender (here’s a hint: it doesn't)" I felt the author implied that whether or not someone decides to alter their biological sex, they still can't really be considered the opposite sex and/or gender. When, in order for for someone to be male or female or anything else, they…

I don't like how the article confuses someone's gender identity and sex. Also she equates the desire to be known as a different gender to playing pretend as dinosaurs/cars...what? I can't remember where I heard this, but wasn't there a mom that raised her son as a boy because she so badly wanted a girl? The mom sent her kid to school one day (I think it was an elementary, all girls catholic school or something), the kid got something on their clothes and had to change, teachers found out, I don'…
