That makes sense too. I find that at my gym there are more females working out on the morning, then in the evening it's usually predominantly males. So what you say fits.
I've never seen it. And my gym has a pretty even mix of male and female regulars. The most people seem to do is make eye contact and say hello. Or give a nod. That's not to say it doesn't happen, but I figure it possibly depends on where you are located.
