strange that the ability to share your opinion with so many has made people think their opinions matter more than facts

I disagree with the presumption here that unintelligent and evil are mutually exclusive. In Atlas Shrugged Ayn Rand in fact argues that evil isn't some intelligent malevolence, but rather the half-assed. Which, if you apply it to the Blue Pill lifestyle of half-assing your way through life, getting fat, consuming media, and playing videogames ad nauseum, then it's pretty clear to see that we are all here to try and kill the evilest of laziness within us.

a commonly repeated phrase around here is "take what works for you, leave the rest" Basically, we're all trying to figure things out. Not all advice is universal. Some of the advice here is not to my liking and I choose to ignore it. I try to focus on content from contributors with flair. Even out of them, there are some flaired contributors I prefer. I've only been here a few months myself so I don't speak for everyone, but "self improvement/getting laid" are somewhat inseparable here, at least…

the only difference is we willfully acknowledge it. Then we take that knowledge and figure out how to thrive given the circumstances. BP me would've been pissed at being objectified. But now, I'm glad. Its a pretty universal objectification, and that knowledge is powerful. All I have to do is embrace that objectification.

I've been here for 3 months. Everytime I think I get it, I read some more and learn that I don't. I'm a Loooooong way from posting. IMHO, new subscribers shouldn't be allowed to post for at least a month. Signs of progress though: my deadbedroom seems to be ending, and I've added 8 lbs of muscle to my skinny frame.

Obviously we all envy the guy who lands a Dagny Taggart HB10, but we're realistic in knowing that we have an insane amount of personal development to do so and we probably won't. And if we DO land an LTR with Dagny (a character who never LTRs in the book), have to acknowledge that AWALT and a top notch dame like her especially would jump ship if her man started to slip up. Just like she jumps ship on Frisco to branch swing up to John.

You must live in perfectsville. That is awesome. Now you've got me trying to figure out ways to live like that with my daughter. Swimming lessons at the Y while I lift? Maybe there's a gym next door to a dance studio down town? The mind reels

totally worth the reschedule. When my kid gets older I'm planning on scoring bonus "family leader" points by taking my kid somewhere family oriented on the way to/from the gym.

just found RP 2 months ago, have a 5 month old at home. I joined our local YMCA because it has a daycare. Baby and I take the jogging stroller, she gets some social interactions while I lift, and the wife gets some free time. win-win-win. Highly recommend if you can find a gym with a daycare.

I know, right!? The dumbest part is, I've only been lifting for a month and I'm still built like a cardio junkie. My gains are infinitesimal, because I'm weak, I'm scrawny, and I started Stronglifts 5x5 with just the barbell and added 5lb each time so I could practice my form before I got to any serious weight. Even then, I'm showing off my T-rex arms to the wife, expecting her to swoon for my ego. All she says is "don't get bumpy." Which could be a test, whether or not I have the mental resilie…

i'm picturing planetary dynamics right now... Earth has 1 orbiting body that generates strong tidal effects Jupiter has 67 moons that don't affect it near as much. More attraction. If Jupiter had only 1 moon, it'd be a damned good moon.

the ironic part is, most of us started down this journey seeking the validation we were missing ...only to find that we're not supposed to need it. TBH, that's a tough pill for me to swallow. I've spent ~30 years seeking validation, and I'm supposed to change now. But I can viscerally FEEL how weak this makes me. I'm still a little boy saying "mommy, I made a big poop today!" and hoping for a pat on the head. Look how much muscle mass I've gained! Look at how clean the garage is! Did you see how…

I'd see this as a good chance for kino. Grab her arms and square off to compare heights. THEN tease her about her weight. Pick her up to see if she's lying. Tell her she's lying and she must weigh at least 150. Pick her up again to verify. All in good fun

since marriage, basically. So 5 years. We used to get physical every time we were together, even did it in the back of my car in broad daylight a few times. Nothing too kinky but very passionate. After the wedding, it stopped being "our" sex-life. the comments on life you have in your head, say them aloud to people nearby, especially the funny ones. Just a relaxed offhand comment of, "that is a big fuckin toaster" or whatever you're thinking of at the time. If she responds well, she's probably interested in talking more. If not, don't let that discourage you. When you've got her talking, introduce yourself and ask a few questions about her. Be legitimately interested in her answers.

just read some of those comments on the original thread... you're right, you definitely got some real hate over there. why do schools handle these things? Why not let the justice/judicial system handle it? IANAE but the way I see it... If crimes are truly being committed, the victim can prosecute in court. If crimes are not being committed, the school shouldn't care.

Hey man, if that's what you want out of life, don't let this subreddit stop you. TBH, i find a lot of the content on RP subs to get a bit reductionist and extreme. Read The Rational Male, you'll find it to be more nuanced. Find a way to use TRP to help you reach your goals. Just be aware of Ev-Psych dynamics, frame, and the risk involved when you get married. What you lack is discipline (your own words). How do you get discipline? Practice. Not only this, but daily exercise will improve your hormones and outlook on life. Endorphin rush, increased testosterone, blood flow, etc. improves your alertness, motivation, and mood for the rest of the day. Most importantly, doing something as self-serving as exercise makes it easier to feel a sense of self-respect. From that, stems confidence. From that stems excitement about life. If she say's go mow the lawn and then meet me in the shower, that's a shit test. But then again if your lawn is hiding a 1980's Chrysler you're failing on other levels. How about damage control. What is the best way to handle it when I've been extra busy at work, a few things came up, lawn never got mowed. At the time she starts nagging about it, what is the alpha response? (Obviously best scenario is to have mowed the lawn)

"embrace the suck" rewatch the shawshank redemption. Why is Andy Dufrane the hero? He's able to remove his ego from the equation, unlike the rest of the characters. In doing so, he's able to see the long game, and he boldly and quietly plays it. This is going to be you. You are going to get over your ego so that you can create and execute your MAP quietly and resolutely. You are one resilient motherfucker. Step 1? Read and lift.

Agreed. It was luckily a public place, and he wasn't that much bigger than me. TBH, I felt bad for the guy. I've always tried not to make a habit out of pursuing taken girls, but at the same time, it wasn't my promise to keep. Cheating on him, telling him, then spin it into not her fault. She was ice cold. You could definitely see the wheels in his head turning when I asked him that question though.

in college I slept with a girl who had a BF. He eventually finds out and confronts me. TBH I had no idea she had a BF until after our encounter but it didn't matter. I told him, "I'm not in a LTR. It's not my responsibility to protect your and her relationship. Ask yourself who you should be mad at right now, me or her?" Stunned silence. I got up and left. I heard through the grapevine that they broke up, but only after dragging it on for another 2 months.

gotcha. I have a feeling some of this applies to business too, like... showing that you're feeling defensive makes people feel like you have something defensive to be about. Even if you're damned good at your job. Getting to that point by... reading more of the sidebar? By having unfaltering self-confidence?
