Heed this man's advice. I go on backcountry skiing trips pretty often and that's not the kind of stuff you want to go about by getting lost or avoiding trails. That's how people die. Having said that, everyone needs to do a trip or two into the wilderness for a few days every year.

I think the most important change you can make is learning what types of emotion to show to her, more than anything that will save you from a lot of problems if you're trying to make a longer term relationship work. And go read the LTR series by /u/occamsusername.

I don't think anyone is in dispute about about technology growing, your mistake is one mainly semantics and by what you define trade as. Innovation is growing but as it grows, innovation itself becomes a more tradable good and a lot of innovation will be applied to a lot of goods that are already tradable.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/14 06:59 AM
1

I think you're mixing you're your definitions of what trade actually is. Innovation and creativity can be traded, heard of intellectual property? You think new ideas and systems can't be traded? And as I've said do you have any sources that show how trade is no longer a central part of the economy? By sources I don't mean your own personal opinion.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/14 05:11 AM
1

And in your definition trade only involves natural resources and finance? You don't think that when Facebook pays to buy a company because of their intellect that isn't trade? What do you call that then? And where are the sources that show how trade has been upended? Don't take it personally that I don't trust the economics of someone on gender relations board, I work in finance so while that doesn't mean I know everything about economics I do know a little.

Lol, you sound pretty mad and your age is evident through the name calling and insults. I'm glad to know your open mindedness and non-judgemental behavior only extends to people who agree with you, you fit in well with most young people who have it all figured out. Ps: there's really no need to be in purple pill debate since you already know what is right for society. Why bother debating with assholes and fools anyway, we are all a waste of your time.

I don't understand how that disputes what I said, it has been know for a long time that the Y chromosome has more mutation than the egg (heck that's why there more men at the the extremes of intelligence and mental illness than women). But that still doesn't prove that a woman at 40 has less risk than a man at 40 when it comes to having children. Do you have any studies that show that in particular? That a man at that age carries more risk than a woman during reproduction? I could definitely be …
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/14 09:31 PM
2

The risks are definitely there I'm not disputing that but they don't happen on the same timeline as they do with women. The sperm of a man at 40 doesn't carry the same risk as the egg of a woman at 40 and part of this is because sperm is very simple for the body to make and doesn't have as much genetic material in it.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/14 08:31 PM
1

Fair enough I see what you're getting at. I think we can break down the question into a few ways, the first thing that I think confused people is the word biological clock which is always connected to reproduction and in this case it is stronger for women simply because they know they have a smaller window to have children and when it shuts it shuts for good, men have more leeway, a man at thirty can afford to put off kids for another 10+ plus years a woman can't really do so their biological re…

"Innovation has replaced trade as the central driver of the economy" this statement makes no sense and isn't grounded in reality. This is like silicon valley speak for how disruption is going to change everything. Okay lets get to the nuts and bolts of it, how do people monetize all this innovation? In order for innovation to flourish trade is absolutely needed. Innovation isn't some new wondrous thing, history of innovation didn't begin with the internet. And since trade is no longer as importa…

Well I wasn't arguing against that in my initial point but commenting on how liberal cities turned liberal, wealthy and innovative in the first place. I don't get how that link disputes anything I've said about why certain cities in human history turned liberal. I'll mention it again, they were all trading and shipping hubs which lead to cultural diversity and wealth which in turn led to open mindedness which in turn led to liberal attitudes. Is that a claim you disagree with?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/14 06:45 PM
1

I don't get what point you're trying to make, maybe elaborate a little? I don't think a study is needed to come to the conclusion that being open to new experiences leads to more innovation and liberal attitudes, that's common sense

The general age for men is 21 to 35 and for female egg donors its 21 to 30. Sperm quality starts dropping but it isn't as sharp of an increase as that in egg quality. Eggs are taxing on a woman's body, they have majority of the material needed for conception to take place and sustain the foetus. This is why men can have kids well into their forties as opposed to women, its why men can don't undergo menopause while women do. Eggs are expensive and taxing but sperm isn't. And women have a limited …

And the timelines for men and women are very different. For women who want kids 20 to 40 is pretty much what they have which leads to a stronger biological drive to have kids during those ages. For guys that range is a lot bigger, we can extend it further after 40 and still have healthy kids, its not the same for a 40 year old woman. The risks aren't the same.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/14 12:13 PM

It isn't as strong. While sperm quality will decrease men can still have children into their 50s. Women don't have that option.

I think cities with most wealth, innovation and culture are liberal because of trade. If you look at all the big cities in the world over the past 500 years, they have all generally been port cities and hubs of trade and shipping. This has always led to more concentration of wealth in these areas and more mingling of different cultures which has led to more liberal attitudes. I personally love big liberal cities for the cultural diversity but I also tend to spend a lot of time in small conservat…

And by the way if you honestly can't see the parallels between you judging me before talking to me and getting my views on particular subjects and TRP behavior when speaking in generalizations then I don't have much more to say as you have already made up you mind and I wish you well in your crusade against TRP.

Its unfair because you haven't asked for my own opinion, I know what I get out of it and what is useless. I don't understand how you can't see the hypocrisy in your statements about being open and yet going all out and judging me. I think this is the issue with both people on the extreme end of TBP and TRP you all think you're right and the other side is wrong (yes I think your mindset towards TRP is as bad as the mindset of extreme TRP users towards the TBP). And why would I be subscribed to TB…

Once again, you conflating many different ideas and dumping them on me. For someone who claims to work in health care and be open minded you are honestly doing the opposite, have I at any point said I agree with all of TRP or even brought up any of those things? That's a whole lot of assumptions you're making. You don't need to feel sorry for me just like I don't feel sorry for you for any beliefs you may hold, I'm sorry but I dont understand the point of that whole spiel, no one said anything that people have nothing to share just because humans are similar, I feel like you're conflating two completely different things. I don't think its a problem specifically related to time spent with kids. There's many fathers out there that spend plenty of time at home but are still not very good at parenting and there's fathers who may be busy often but know how to approach those situations that count in a childs development. By bad father figures I'm simply not referring to the runaway dads who have no involvement in their children's lives but also the guy who may provide and be present for his family but not understand t…

I wouldn't even limit that to RP alone, the lack of good father figures is something that affectes both men and women to a big degree and its not limited to either pill or sex. With guys it will affect their ideas of masculinity and healthy relationship dynamics and with girls it pretty much sets the stage for how they approach and navigate future relationships with men.

I think a big chunk of it comes down to the fact that humans on average all think they are pretty special, think the world owes them, are self interested and like to act like they are pretty above their base animal instincts and emotions. Throw all this into a pot and you've got the stew for the current situation. The feeling special means a lot of people expect to have the best of everything, its perfectly okay to want the best but the problem arises when people assume that they will simply be …

The relationship stuff is a bit harder to find due to age demographics but its definitely there. My reason for turning to TRP was kind of similar to what you're looking for, our relationship has been great for these past few years and we both want it to last but I'm very aware of how people lose attraction, desire and simply hate each other down the line and that's what I don't want to happen.

I remember reading that and it was a definitely a good example of the lull that many long term couples do seem to go through and another issue is that in many cases they assume that they can talk about it and that desire and passion will return after having a conversation about it. Her conception of dread is actually quite in line with what TRP advocates. The first issue with dread is the name itself, it evokes negative, sinister emotions just from reading it and I think that already affects how…

I think these kind of beta things are things are very necessary in an LTR. And if your wife/ girlfriend already respects and looks up to you, there's a lot you can get away. Whenever she does those nice things for you its important to notice them and reward her good behaviour.

Oh for sure, I totally get where you're coming from. I think its the nature of most groups and it doesn't help that both sides of the debate tend be really polarized. I think you may find yourself agreeing with most of the principles but its the way they are presented that puts you off which is also a valid argument in its own. As for people taking it the wrong way, that comes with the territory, humans are very self interested even when they don't want to admit it and you will notice this behav…

TRP is very clear in advocating both Alpha and Beta behaviour in a long term relationship otherwise it wont last. You're the one who didn't bother to do enough research before making the post.

I agree with you that they are similar in the sense that each side thinks the other are the baddies and they do both force tight control of the conversation. They however also differ in a major way, SJWs think there are many injustices in the world and that they have to be corrected by changing other people who don't follow the various personal philosophies of SJWs. TRP on the other hand says this is the way the world is, you can take it or leave it.

It is normal human behavior. I think people at times get stuck on the fact that the word 'dread' sounds rather sinister and thereby oppose it in every way even though they may be doing certain forms of it themselves.

Ahh that makes more sense. And yes I agree with you, most don't have a desire to be with someone who has been very promiscuous especially when it comes to long term relationships. Personally I see no problem with that, I think people can have their relationship deal breakers both men and women. Girls are just as free to hold the guys they get into serious relationships with to the same standards. And as I mentioned before you can still be sexually liberal and expressive without having to sleep w…

I would have to disagree on that especially the part about the two kinds of behavior not being able to exist in the same person. Most of the TRP generally focuses on short term dating however when it comes to LTRs its very clear that you need both aspects of the good boy and the bad boy, a long term relationship won't really last without the two being present. TRP within an LTR is different from TRP within casual dating. And someone can still be sexually expressive while at the same time being h…

I wouldn't say that's right, people in TRP would have no problem with their partner being sexually adventurous and slut for them, its very encouraged. I would say its akin to girls wanting to have fun as well with the bad boy types and then choosing to settle down with someone more grounded and stable. Its the same dynamic with the sexes reversed.

If you want serious answers it may help if your bias wasn't so obvious in your wording. Having said that, I'm sure most people who lean towards the red pill and are in LTRs don't see their partners as less than human. TRP within LTRs and marriage is different from TRP within casual dating. For one married people with kids or people who have been together for years can't exactly just wake up and next their partners. Its also why most TRP members who are more interested in casual sex will be okay …
