Oh god yes. My ex did this, it was laughable. Said that women were cutting off potential friendships by not being welcoming to guys approaching them in public

I’m recovering from my chronic illness amazingly well now for the first time. I do a martial art and train 3-6 hours a week. I’ve switched up my diet, sorted my sleeping pattern and I’m drinking more water I went part time at uni to make my workload less because I care for elderly parents, and now my grades are consistently high and my mental health is so much better too. I also have more time for hobbies, so I’ve been able to finish my garden and get back into language learning. I’ve invested m…

This is definitely a good reason to go nuclear. I wouldn’t be even slightly polite

You have my sympathy x I hope you’re doing better now and I hope your bf heals up soon It took them 8 years to diagnose me with one of the most common chronic illnesses, and their suggested remedy for my pain? “Read stories and listen to nice music”. Even my dad balked at that

My therapist made me realise that my ex was very manipulative and that it was ridiculous to think all the times he hurt me were the accidents he said they were. She also pointed out that I had never once broken or damaged anything of his, but he had broken something of mine by being careless and stupid and had very nearly destroyed treasures sentimental items that link me to my grandmother and had never even apologised. She basically made me realise that I wasn’t asking too much, like he always …

I’ve been avoiding all reminders of my awful awful ex but a friend of mine still reads his stuff for a laugh - it’s truly pathetic stuff. Of course he’s telling all the online readers how wonderful he was and how I gaslit him and how mean I am, and they’re lapping it up. Conveniently I’m sure he forgets to mention how he was violent, manipulative, sexually abusive and a variety of other things which would explain and justify my reactions to being pushed further and further. Tbh though I don’t ca…

My ex was like this, and the further away from him I get the more glad I get that he’s an ex. I only wish I’d broken it off with him before I’d even got together with him

I love it when they turn up to a coffee date they invited me on in sticking clothes, expect me to pay, and then spent the whole thing lecturing me on my politics. Actual excerpt “All countries are terrible both in politics and environmentalism. Even the slightly better ones were built on evil and capitalism!” “Ok, how many foreign countries have you lived in to experience how terrible their politics are?” “Well none but I don’t need to because I can use google. Why? You haven’t either!” “…. You …

I wouldn’t be. I did something similar a while ago and lasted a whole four weeks before I just couldn’t put up with it anymore. It felt too low effort to me - if he wanted to he would

Coercive control was made illegal and included under the legal definition for domestic violence where I live a few years ago. Unfortunately, they suck at actually prosecuting it and the process of reporting is still all over the place, traumatic and drawn out. I know they can’t just throw charges and convictions around, but god I wish they’d take victims more seriously

This is exactly how you weed out the people you don’t want in your life, so you can start filling it with better. The truly healthy friendships won’t suffer from you laying down boundaries

I went on a first date a couple of years ago with someone who had specifically messaged me after an event and asked if I wanted to get coffee sometime. We got to the cafe and when asked how we were paying he just looked at me. I’m immensely proud of how annoyed and stubborn my 19yr old self was, because I smiled brightly and said “you can get this one”. He looked shocked and irritated. The date was so awful it was actually funny, and with hindsight I should’ve just left but oh well - baby steps

Ugh have we dated the same person? My ex was like this. I gave him far too many chances trying to explain what he needed to change and after not being listened to for so long I broke it off. He had the audacity to pull a shocked pikachu face and say I should’ve made him understand and that it was my job to put things in a way he could understand them 🤦‍♂️🙄 somehow, this man actually got engaged recently. I’m so glad it wasn’t to me.

Yessss. Go you I hate when guys act as though my time is something to be taken for granted. I study full time and am setting up a business all while dealing with caring duties and my own health issues. I have no time for men who can’t even organise themselves
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/06/21 12:37 PM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
