I visited Manchester last year (American) and I was refused entry into a few clubs (in manc). I'm a black guy with dreads, I had a blazer on with dress shoes and jeans. So, I just chalked it up to race and kept it moving. I was allowed into a couple of over clubs though and had a blast though. But I searched Reddit and it seems to be common practice to not allow single men in clubs in the UK. A couple of bouncers told me, "it's to protect you, due to a good amount of women claiming sexual assaul…

I think we all do. Some of the best times of my life was being in a relationship. Like you mentioned, once you see what happened to those around you or it occurs to you, it's just better to be single.
