So you know how people from cultures where physical punishment for children is normalized act like their abuse as a child was no big deal? They’re still traumatized, and we have the data to back that, but it manifests differently based on how you’re socialized. Same goes for male SA and rape.

Not hormone free, but we’ve known how to make effective, reversible, male birth control for decades. Trans men on testosterone can understand the physical damage in the same way as intact cis men can. On testosterone, the clitoris enlarges to be like a tiny penis, with the clitoral hood being the foreskin. They can probably understand more directly than a cut cis man on what is being lost when foreskin is removed.

Consent is still the most important part. The physical damage is obviously important as to why that consent is necessary, but it’s a perfectly fine procedure if the patient is a consenting adult. We don’t ban things just for causing physical harm, otherwise tobacco and alcohol would be illegal.

I don’t oppose feminism in the textbook definition of it being advancing gender equality for women. I am very much in support of that. 30M, I’ve been with my wife 10 years, married for 3 of them, and have a 1.5 year old kid. We’re a pretty “traditional” household where I’m the breadwinner and she’s a stay at home mom. That may be true if there’s no kids, the kid(s) are in school, or the kid(s) are old enough to mostly take care of themselves. Caring for an infant or toddler is no easier than being a wage slave. Caring for a young child is a full time job, and you don’t get to leave at the end of the day. You’re still on call 24/7. It doesn’t even come with a short term compensation of a paycheck. No man should have to do that to pay child support. That’s part of reform. If a man can’t pay, he doesn’t have to pay, and that’s where social welfare comes in to make sure the child is provided for. Women don’t have abortions because of bodily autonomy, they have the right to have abortions because of bodily autonomy. Financial reasons are reasons why they may choose to exercise that right. Women having children they can’t afford is a problem, and financial education is important, but I’m not seeing how “paper abortions” helps here. It would just exasperate the problem.

I’m going to get downvoted, but I strongly disagree. The right to an abortion is because of bodily autonomy, not because you shouldn’t have to support a child. The two things you’re referring to are not comparable, with the exception of if the father did not consent to sex. Child support is meant for the wellbeing of the child. I personally believe that if something you post on social media is inflammatory enough that it could compromise employment, it’s probably not going to be the most effective way to produce change. If it’s something that most people would not find inflammatory, but you are penalized by your employer for it, you don’t want to be working there anyway. Well, practically none of them need to be criticism of feminism and women, but unfortunately a lot are just played out or interpreted in that way. I think the real answer is to continue tackling all men’s issues without bringing feminism or women into it.
