It's happened so much it becomes a normalized internal experience to realize you are largely on your own sans a few family members if you are lucky and perhaps a few close friends. With women yeah sometimes I miss them but I'm not really relationship hunting atm doing some reflecting and a lot aren't worth the time invested frankly. Not as like a misogynistic statement but literally when I do a cost benefit analysis it often works out to be better single.

Women don't have to revolt over a lack of sex because for women sex is not a scarce good nor do women seem to need it as much as men. And it is not so much sex as the ability to have a family and children and have some meaningful progress in life which is blocked by women refusing to have sex with them. Men have straight up been lied to about equality at least with regards to a man's expected responsibility in a lot of cases. Many women still expect men to be the primary provider. Still expect men and only men to go to war. Still expect men to take responsibility even if things fell apart due to her own negligence like your example. It has happened before and will happen again if things get bad enough. It's not particularly uncommon either. When resources whether sexual or otherwise are too highly concentrated men tend to not like this. Even in ye olden times many nobles and slaveowners lived in perpetual fear of violent revolt and surplus young men were often rewarded with the chance to do battle to acquire women and plunder. Modern stable society is really the exception to the rule.

You would be surprised. A lot did it or other people wrote about them doing so or doing not so. Diaries, letters, personal accounts were often highly personal and reflective. I've read some quite intimate accounts in diaries both of people who were horndogs and people who maintained chastity through adversity. Plenty of couples throughout history have waited until marriage and gone through long periods of time without sex while apart in marriage. Soldiers, sailors, traders, their spouses etc, people getting crippling diseases. It can be difficult but it is possible. And they weren't all low libido either.
