That could have be3n part of it, but the end result is often the same. If you are like me, youre still in the whole how can i help her get back to normal and happy. It generally doesnt work out that way; you deserve a life and some happiness too, her problems are no her own. It is easy and simple to say, but just gonout and have fun while you can. In her current state, she isnt worth it; ask yourself if you met this person now and saw how she acted woupd you date her?

People have mid life crisis's. My ex went from being focused in being a great mom to her kids ( my step kids) to becoming one if those girls who is a bands property (groupie i think is ther term) in her 40s, amd it wasnt a popular band or anything. It was a bunch of middle aged 'punk rockers" who work for stats canada in ottawa. People flip out, dont try and change them, it makes it all worse, accept theyre goofs abd move on
/r/Divorce_Men12/01/26 02:15 PM

Yeah i suck at building tables and marriage. One day i build a good table though.

Just general misogyny. Edit: at what point did we as men decide ti be victims? With all this talk about accountability i feel it goes both ways. Men are accountable for their hurt feelings. So maybe i am not just a tough alpha male like the grumpy gusses who hang out at the hooters bar and talk lile this.

Unless it has to do with you kids ita non of your buisiness. She isnt accountable to you and its not ypur problem. We tend to be angry here, i was for a very long time, its not worth it. Edit: smashing the downvote doesnt change things. If you want to meet someone again and have another shot at joy you gotta let it go

We all get caught in a trap in our own heads. Took me years to get out. The op is still there, he'll get there eventually, it is just a shitty long and lonely dark journey. Life would be better for men if we had a handbook, like in Beetlejuice. There is part of me that wants, as an old man, to write it. So many young men get no positive paternal advice, for a range of reasons. Would be nice to share various ways to learn the stove is hot, so younger men don't have to put full palm on the burner.…

Idk if it was odd, but my ex basically started sleeping with everyone. I mean if her affair partners all got together, they'd have to rent a bus. Now my ex had a dark history and went through all this in her late 30s.

That is a conversation you need to have with your ex. It is uncomfortable, but id establish rigjt away, youre happy for her, you just want to make sure, as she does anyon3 interacting with your kids is safe, and that you will extend the same curtesy tobher when someone ypur dating ever comes around the kids. Thats it. Keep it l8ght, smile amd be calm.

It is only relevant as it relates to your kids. You have a right to know who you kids spend time with, not your ex.

Yes, and no. My life changed about a year or two ago a d i think back on a few exs and think about what life would have been with them. That said its just a thought, my exes all oretty much despise me and we broke up for a reason.

Sounds like youre going through a mini early mid life type crisis thing, happens to all of us, adulting at any age is annoying and stressful. It may represent something deeper in your marrage, or not. Dont dwell on it, or overthink, start sharing some of your frustrations with your wife and see how it goes. Best advice i can suggest.

I think youre kinda looking for an excuse to end it. I mean most of us are here because we are not currently married, and this isnt den of happiness. Coming here for advice is like going to a gun shop while depressed. Not a good idea.

When you think of her crying does it break you? Do you dream with her? Like talk of and plan for a future together as a team? Do you like having conversations with her? I mean communication could be partially your fault. If you believe you love her, and she loves you, then she is probably picking up on your vibe. In that case you need to face that this is kinda a normal part of a relationship and lean into it on your side as well. Then again, if you just like the comfort ( cooking cleaning being…

I think the more important question is do you love her as a person. We all get older, decide if you love her or not. If you dont, and frankly just want someone you find hot (which im not making a judgement call on, we all want different things), then you shouldnt be married, and shouldnt remarry. Just date or whatever, otherwise its too great a risk to assets: we all get old and we dint look as good in most cases as we used to. Date for sex, marry for love. Edit: also asking those woulda, coulda…

Yep, I had my ex once accuse me of being abusive because she asked for 2k and I wanted to talk about it before I did. I suspect it was going to someone she was cheating on me with, and it was. You won't understand it using logic. Run, block and Grey rock

Don't be stupid. Its over, paying her won't make her stay, it will make you homeless and broke. If you pay her to stay shes just a hooker. I'd advise you to shop around because you can hire a hooker for less than half a house

I've found cheaters do this. They create this massive heroic story about how they needed to find themselves. It's all delusional narcassim and should be ignored. She's just a pos and you don't need to romanticize it. It's a basic thing for basic people. They type who get inspired by TV ads. Eventually, and this will take time, you'll realize you're better off. Probably not, but the key thing is who cares. I mean God bless her and all that, but I really don't care what she's got going on or who she's with. Just drama I didn't and don't want to deal with.

I'm 44 and love panama, not because of all the calls I get from my guy friends talking about meeting women there and prostitution being legal. It's the soup. Sancocho. Google it, it's amazing. Edit: I go to panama at least twice a year to sit in a pool l, eat sancocho and king fish and read books. I have never had a romantic time in panama, but I did once visit 7 bars trying ro find panama red; but I'm a weed guy.

Being a good man to your family and kids leaves a monument more lasting than marble. We don't get enough reinforcement to be good men, and alot of us for whatever reason grow up without dads. You're being the first great man in a long line, so just keep doing what you're doing and put your kids and family first. It will pay off. Edit: you're doing more than okay. You're being a man. Sort of country Italian, farmers bread. Did turkey and proclscutto, with hot pickled eggplant and romaine lettuce and swiss cheese. Very happy with result. Edit: I used a bit of garlic mayo as well, but I'm canadian of ukrainian decent. Don't judge me.

That's your dudness and I think that's great. Ego is a bitch. Being men means putting the needs of other before our own ego and fighting tooth and nail for those you love. Sounds like you're doing that, and I want to say that's amazing. There is toxic masculinity, but there's also just masculinity. You're doing the latter and I respect that greatly.
/r/Divorce_Men10/09/24 05:54 PM

I didn't feel I didn't want anything to do with her. I wanted to go home and make a sandwich. That was when I felt my last chains broke. She was my past, I was hungry and a sandwich was more important than old drama. And it was a good sandwich. I'd go so far as to say it was an excellent sandwich.

It ultimately doesn't matter. Indifference is the goal and tbf, it's victory. My ex was a pretty controlling person. I know she was pissed off when she saw me because I didn't care, I had the oh nope, (we literally almost walked into each other) and crossed walkways. Freedom comes from just not caring at all who they're with or what they do. That's what I felt today and she saw it which I will admit felt great.

It's a wonderful feeling when you see your ex and they're just, your past. I felt my inner narration was from the two towers,.begone.........you have no power here! Edit: I will admit my internal petty voice said, shit, I wish I was wearing a suit or looking my best, as I was in jeans and a flannel shirt, but it was data after the borg got blorged. I don't know ofbom evil for saying this, but there is a part of me that would get the three of you on a room, your son, your ex and you with a lawyer when the house closes. Let her know, now that sale is final, that you would like her to help equally with his education, treat it as an of course type of thing. If she rejects it, she has to basically reject her son, or at least face up to the reality that she has to chose her over him. People get stupid and greedy when they cheat and wrapped up in…

Anyone who abandons their kids is a pos in my opinion, their gender is irrelevant. The op sounds like he's having a mid life crisis or is perhaps a narc. Think of the trauma your kids would go through, it horrible. Because you want to fuck off somewhere warmer? Edit: op if you're not a troll, get your shit together.

I hate to say it, no. I get you want that moment. Take this from experience, the best revenge is living a good life and recognizing she's your past, not your future. She no longer matters. Live for you and focus on you. This shouldn't be your motivation, but on a brighter note, it drives them nuts when you do. Cheating is only part of it for many of these people. Cheaters act like narcassists, they like the power over you to live rent free in your head. Don't let her

People who do shitty things are often aware of how terrible they are. They however won't admit it and will craft utterly insane non sensical things to try and show that they're the victim. It's really weird. She left her kids, and she's a garbage person. Ignore her other than mandatory things. She'll keep screwing up and sadly die alone isolates from you and your kids. She won't be able to settle down because what she did to you she will do to others. My ex was like this, you have to let her mak…

My first marriage I was a selfish narcissistic asshat. Never physically abusive, but a dick. Second one not so much, however I did put everything into it, became my will smith like identity wise and I was with someone similar to his wife if you get my meaning. In a way I saw it as karma paying me back for my actions in my first one. That said it didn't wipe my slate clean. I mean this with love, I've had loved ones be where you are at being stage 4. Considering this, who give a flying fuck about money, laws or divorce. Focus on your son and spend every moment you can't with him, even if they are moments you don't want to share (your kid doesn't care of you face limited mobility, speech issues etc) all they want is more memories with you. /r/Divorce_Men25/10/23 03:51 PM

The anger is a cancer and it only hurts yourself. I got lost in it for a while and it's useless. It's remarkably hard and everyone does it in different ways, but the first step in moving forward was letting that anger go (through therapy, hobbies etc) Focus on what works for you, buy put the work in. The anger phase freezes so much of your life in the past and it's ultimately masochistic, the inky one you hurt with it is you

The always be friends is the biggest clue to me, she's already in a relationship and is convinced she won and can have her cake and eat it too. Which you're giving her. Respectfully, and I know what you're going through, you need to go against what you heart is screaming to you and end all communication with her and protect yourself legally. Jesus, I'm sorry your going through this. The priority is your kids well being. The fact the cos has been called is a huge, I mean huge issue. I really hope they will be okay. How can your wife forbide anything? You're getting a divorce, I'm sure she wants you to take it on the chin while she blames you yo your children. Why would you go along with this? I'm going to disagree respectfully. Women are no more selfish than men. What's happened is that poor behavior from men is accepted as 'how men are' by women and they use it as an excuse for shifty behavior. People suck generally, there are good people on both sides I think we as men undervalue ourselves and are too risky in choosing partners, which is why alot of us end up here. this sub is littered with more red flags stories than a communist rally.
