I think you're reading into the original post too much while being vindictive. I don't see how the poster was implying women cannot be creeps based on his wording. He is only talking about how some guys can be creeps.

I think the issue stems from the fact that there have been plenty of cases of harassment and outright sexual assault perpetrated by certain scum. In other words, a group of men who make the rest of us look bad. It also does not help that many times, women are shamed or accused of lying despite being the victim. In some ways, it is not surprising at all that feminism or the arguments for women's rights became more aggressive and as much as I hate to say it, maybe it should. I get your point, ther…

It is not THAT broad, I would say. There's always a time and a place for compliments, especially if you're really trying to get to know someone or hook up. But just because one is a woman, it's NOT an invitation for a man to go up to her and expect her to want to talk or get to know him. It's not even about women, you have to be really socially awkward to not realise if people don't want to interact. And let's be fair to women. How often do you think a decently attractive woman is going to get a…

Whataboutism. He didn't say anything about "women can't be creeps or stalkers." of course they can, but it is not the norm. We SHOULD fight for the rights of men who have been abused by women or at the very least, creeped out by them. But that does not mean we should not acknowledge the male creeps who make the rest of us look bad.

Like I said, context. If a woman is actually out to meet some guys or gals at a bar or event where people congregate, it is most likely NOT going to be creepy. But a woman trying to do something in her own time, like grocery shopping or even jogging around the suburb would usually not find compliments endearing when it comes out of the blue. Especially when it's the FIRST thing a man she doesn't know, says to her.

I dunno. You're not exactly wrong but the examples you give can really depend on the situation or context. Like for example, complimenting a woman's hair. If it's a bar and people are looking to socialise, sure, there would be nothing wrong with that. But if you were to just walk up to a woman in a grocery store and say that, it IS creepy.

While that is true, this is whataboutism in the context of the post. A woman not wanting to have her drink spiked is not an assault on men's rights. Yes, there should be a lot more understanding for men being targeted. But this particular example is not a good one.

If you're not spiking women's drinks, then why are you upset or annoyed about this?

Wait, are some people here actually serious?! Look, while the OP isn't exactly correct about what really constitutes as "looking like a creep," that doesn't mean you shouldn't practice good hygiene. What the hell, man? It's not even about trying to get a date, ANY average person will not have a good impression when being introduced to some guy who reeks.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
