First off, I just want to make sure it's clear that I do appreciate what you have to say about this. This post covers what I did when I traveled to places other than Bangkok. Living in Bangkok was a totally different thing, probably deserving of another post. Living in Bangkok: I went to Thai clubs, met Thai people, dated Thai girls, learned Thai and ate Thai food (Roosh is wrong, the street food is really not that bad). That kind of immersion was very rewarding, but it was frustrating to get th…

I got a job teaching in Thailand. I earned below minimum wage USD, but it was enough to travel with, so I can hardly complain.

I just recommended the DiCarlo Escalation ladder to someone in the travel thread. It's probably the best bang-for-your-minute-of-reading of any PUA article I've ever read. I haven't actually seen it in 7 years (sometime in high school), thanks for the throwback OP!

If you're going to Thailand, ThaiFriendly will blow your mind. In general, Tinder is pretty good.

Everyone's different, every place is different. There are packed noisy clubs with shiny lights, there are chilled out bars with people playing acoustic covers. On the Andaman coast alone there's Koh Phi Phi, which is a 7day/week party machine (the music blares across the island until 3-4am), and Koh Lanta, where people just hang out on the beach, and the nightlife is more like a handful of pubs.

I haven't read his book, but I had my outsourced assistant read it and prepare a digest ;)

Years ago I came across something called the DiCarlo Escalation Ladder. If you can find that, it'll help you out a lot. It's basically a list of steps, with checks to make sure you aren't going too fast or being creepy (e.g. Put your hand around her waist. If she pulls away or does nothing, stop. If she leans closer to you, you can keep going). Part of it is also setting. I find it easiest to escalate on the dance floor. I really should get better at escalating in other settings, but bringing an…

I worked at a school, so I had a work visa that only needed to be renewed yearly.

I've run into tons of happy couples traveling together. The most important thing is to make sure that you're both at about the same notch on the "roughing it vs luxury" spectrum.

When I was in Vietnam, I kept my clothes in a big backpack that I would leave places, and my valuables in a small backpack that I clutched tight at all times. If you can, leave the laptop home and try to make do with just the phone and tablet. I've brought my laptop places to try and "get work done", and I always find that I don't use it nearly enough to justify bringing it.

I have a bank account here, since I've been teaching. However I can use my ATM card from home just fine. Visas vary by country, most are easily purchased on arrival, Myanmar and Vietnam are the only ones I know from this area that can't. If you have an iPhone with a SIM card, just use that. If not, you can get a $10-15 samsung phone that works.

I'm 24, but I've met people in their 30's who are doing this. Granted, most of those people were from Europe, as I understand it they have a sick amount of vacation time.

If you have a buddy, go for it, traveling with someone is awesome. If not, don't sweat, you can meet people all over.

This is definitely true. However I can imagine that for a lot of guys, the social atmosphere will help them to come out of their shell a bit. But hell yes about those inner game benefits.

One of my friends who studied abroad in Europe once said "Y'know when Americans go to Europe, we do it to meet local people. But when we go to Southeast Asia, we do it to meet the other travelers." This isn't 100% true, but if you come to Thailand hoping to have meaningful experiences with Thai people, don't expect that to happen in your first couple weeks. If you don't look Thai, "living like a local" is kind of a futile. People in my neighborhood recognize that I live there and speak Thai to m…

If you're doing different things every day, time will pass slowly. My first week or two in Thailand felt like a month. Once I got into a routine the weeks began to pass quickly until I started traveling again.

I learned some Thai (this username is phonetic Thai for "knowledge") but I know people who have lived for years in Thailand and barely know any of it. I think that's a stupid thing to do, but it goes to show that you can get by with English (and some gestures) for pretty much anything.

I had a job teaching English for $1000ish per month and spent only from that account. So... maybe $25k over 2 years. My rent was about $250/mo if I include utilities during a bad month. That was a crappy one room place though, my buddies got a sick high-rise place in the middle of Bangkok for maybe $400/mo each. Edit: This guy has a lot of good writings on traveling while running a business on the internet.

Like MacFatty said research. It will depend on a lot of things, for instance: If you want to get dive certified, it'll be about $300 (though it was the best $300 I ever spent) Places like Koh Phi Phi and Koh Tao will be cheaper than places like Koh Samui or Phuket by a factor of at least 2x. If you research ahead of time, you can find cheap nice places instead of having to settle on an expensive crappy place when you arrive because you aren't aware of the options (that said, booking online is us…

Then I was thinking "Hmm maybe I need to start sounding gay to be able to pick up chicks..." This. This right here. When people talk about Tyler "owning it", this is a perfect example of what they mean. He has flaws, but he doesn't resist them. He owns them, and owns them so fully that you end up thinking that they're what makes him attractive. I can't tell you how many times I've seen a guy who was fat, short, bald but still pulled like crazy and thought (even if only for a second) "Crap! If on…

Good Text/IM game is very important. However, my #1 goal during text/IM game is: Stop texting her and meet her in real life as fast as possible. You're dead right, texting is an ineffective way to build attraction. You CAN build attraction this way, but whatever you're doing would usually be more effective in person. Not to mention that it's easy to lose a girl if you don't quickly meet up with her. I've had some interesting results with text game recently. I might post an FR after this weekend …

I feel like the best way to do this is to "ramp up" your state over the course of an evening by doing incrementally more social things. I usually go out with a group of people, and I'll usually start the night getting dinner and a drink with someone, just shooting the shit in a low pressure environment. Then we go meet up with our friends, have some more drinks, talk to more people. By the time we're out at the bar or club, talking to people is no longer a big deal. If you don't have a big group…

It really depends. If you used to go to the college and still have friends there or the campus is interwoven with a city, so non-students are frequent "on campus", then yeah, go ahead. If you're promoting a club or event and are trying to get the interest of college students, go ahead. Once you tell a girl that you don't go to her college, you'd better either have a good reason for being on campus or a lot of attraction built, otherwise you'll come off as weird. Many colleges have a tribal vibe …

I'm not a newbie, I've been into the seduction community on and off for several years. I realize I don't know everything, but I have a solid idea as to what kind of content will help me and what won't. When I look at this sub, I don't see newbs upvoting "the same tired advice that society has been spinning in movies, the media, etc." This sub is a level above that, and I'm happy about that. What I do see too much of is keyboard jockies posting 3 page rants on "how to not be THAT nice guy." or "S…

Will do. After getting tired of The Attraction Forums, I discovered this place. I feel like reddit is the perfect venue to discuss this kind of stuff. this sub has great potential, I'd like to see it get there.

This. What this sub needs to do is force newbies (heck, everyone can use it) out into the field. We should have some sort of weekly post to get the community active on the weekends (or something to that effect). Once everyone accepts that in the beginning, you DO need material, then we can begin to have a real conversation.

Theres a lot of truth to this, but it's also important to note that it is not an excuse for not approaching. I like OP's sports analogy, but it's important to bear in mind that any successful athlete spends mind-numbing hours practicing.

This comes up pretty often. Online game is a cool add-on to whatever you're already doing, but it shouldn't be the focus of your efforts. Make an OKCupid, put up some good pictures of you doing what you love with the people you love, fill in all the blurbs and strike a balance between being confident/funny and douchey, then let it run in the background as you go about your life.

I think it would be great if we could make a new sub for self help advice and keep this one seduction related. I feel like a lot of posts on here really blur the line between seduction/inner game/self-help. I'm not here to learn how eating properly and exercising will improve my confidence, that's why I have /r/fitness. Same with posts about clothes, I've got /r/malefashionadvice for that. I get my pep talks from /r/GetMotivated. I'm also not here to read vague, hand-wavy, often pseudoscientific…
