Yes. I worked at a small company that had four women of child-bearing age and three beyond that age. Our boss chose to cover all of our healthcare and paid a small fortune because of the high child-bearing age coverage. (She was totally awesome for doing that.)

I'm a 27-year-old girl and have only been called bitch once by some punk pedestrian who thought he had the right of way. None of the other words ever made it to my ears.

Agreed. As a woman who believes in REAL equality, I found the title of this post disheartening. Blanket statements never help anyone.

Your mother sounds like an awful woman. I'm so sorry she treated you so unfairly and cruelly. That is not how a mother should treat her children. That's not how anyone should treat anyone. And I'm sorry for how the car driver took advantage of you. That is so terrible. I'm a woman, and I wish I could apologize on behalf of your mom and I wish I could make things better for you.

I am so sorry for what happened to you. I don't know if you like hugs, but it wish I could give you one. I hope full, deep, cleansing healing comes to you soon. My husband and his brothers are the first guys I've known who have told me they would totally hit a girl if need be. I'm a girl myself, and I was shocked to hear that (upbringing, you know), but I totally agree with them now. No human should put up with abuse of any kind. I wish all children were taught when to defend themselves well eno…

Do what you can to get a support group around you. Friends at school, anything. You need to have people looking out for you and who can be there for you if you need them. It might be hard to start small (like friendships normally start), but you've got to get people around you you can go to for help. And if you're in Atlanta, drop me a PM. My husband and I are nice people with a spare room.

Whether she's a feminist or not, she's a controlling and evil woman. Controlling and evil people come from all philosophies. Don't condemn an entire group of people based on the terrible actions of a few.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
