As a homeschooling dad, I love Voddie's work as it made me build a stronger frame around leading my family in all aspects of life. However, I'm not sure where he is on marriage based on a few comments I've heard where he expressed that men should get married as soon as they can if they've found a potential bride instead of delaying to "have fun". I haven't heard a deep-dive in this view but I'm afraid that in the mind of most young Christian men, we'll get oneitis very fast and wife up the first…

I don't know if he read Robert Glover's NMMNG that is required reading for RP, but I think for the Christian man, it's a great complement as it almost outlines how to live that "new you" out in the church and resist the prominent teaching that God's order is: God > Angels > Women > Children > Men > Animals

I'm working my way through No More Christian Nice Guy by Paul Coughlin. So far so good, esp. For. non red pill guys, but I'm yet to get to strong comments on marriage in the book. It appears promising though based on some of his views.

No doubt, I certainly don’t disagree on what gives them tingles, but I was speaking in terms of a good way to explain this concept in a way most church folks could understand without getting butthurt and immediately thinking you’re shallow. You’ve nailed it in why many won’t even approach such a topic...

I’ve never heard a preacher approach this topic...they won’t get even close out of fear of offending women (but will quickly tell men to “step up” in areas). I’ve also noticed that the SMV of the preacher and his wife are usually pretty close as the wife, regardless of her age, keeps up her appearance as a form of mate guarding and other reasons. The larger the church, the more the wife stays on her game from what I’ve seen. She knows that many of the women, married and single, would love to tak…

Solid. OP, as someone who's doing the counseling hustle right now, I can tell you that it's going to be loaded with covert contracts, a problem you already have. The one I'm seeing is good but tries to get me to sign them and I'm trying to break them, not sign more. I haven't heard of any RP counselors and if there were, our wives would see them once and never go back again anyway after he says, "So yea, why are you fat and lazy?" I'm willing to bet that just coming here and letting some of your…

So true. It's at this point in our lives where we have to concede that even those sweet little innocent low n-count cupcakes at 20, were smarter about picking a longterm beta-bucks mate and all we wanted was "that one". She wins keeping her hawt guy, she wins losing her hawt guy and keeping the cash and prizes. So yep, it's still my fault. All of y'all have me beat, mine is 3 inches shorter AND 30-40 pounds more.

If misery loves company, I can tell you that I understand as I'm in a similar situation as just yesterday, I banged my whale in the daylight and couldn't even get fully hard watching her blow me. I don't take viagra nor do I have any plates, so it sounds like you at least have an outlet. I agree with 88Will88 (and it's my personal strategy as well at this point), get a short-term and long-term plan in order. Once I became okay with divorce (i.e. having retainer money on hand, lawyer ready, etc.)…

I know that area well, so if he has a church, I’d pay a visit!

Same here man. My 16 yr old lifts w/ me (and 13 yr old son) and at first my wife was worried my daughter could have an eating disorder because she was thin. But I attacked it by taking her to the gym at 14 and she’s loved it ever since. Best weapon against anorexia has been showing, “If you don’t eat right, you can’t sculpt your body the way you want and you’re wasting a lot of time in the gym.”

I’m in great shape, but married to a fat wife who won’t work out to literally save her life, so I may be biased...but I think the feminist agenda will teach her to be fat and that’s okay because “he must love you for who you are”, while we know that’s not the real world. So I think you have two good things going for you: 1.) it was another woman (even better, her mom!) that spoke to her about the importance of staying in shape, something men have been shamed for doing for decades now. 2.) you ha…

My guess is, to some extent, you probably are fairly unhappy in the relationship and are actually somewhat excited (commingled with nervousness, anger, resentment, etc.) at the prospect of getting out and finding someone new. You almost nailed it. The exception is the finding someone new part. Right now in my current state, I'm feeling like I understand those MGTOW guys now. After over a decade of mental issues and now this, I'm just tired and don't want to live the rest of my life with a woman …

I appreciate the wisdom. I've heard many sermons throughout my life, but never one on divorce. It's like with premarital sex in the church, if we just don't talk about it, then they won't want to do it, which then allows secular culture to fill the void inbetween. That's been the part of RP that actually illuminated scripture for me. The notion of romantic "love" often means doing whatever it takes to be peaceful and that usually means no conflict. I have never read this in scripture as a practi…

I'm taking a zero tolerance stance, but if she were to be clean, I do feel that our home could be at least peaceful again, and I'd be a better man after my RP journey as well. It's been an emotional roller costed ride for 16 yrs, issue after issue and I even wonder if she's a narcissist as nothing is ever her fault, which is why I have little hope she'd seek treatment on her own.

Thank you and I certainly will. I've been trying to read a ton to manage my own anger and anxiety. She never went to see a psychologist for the other issues, only a psychiatrist, and again that was by my urging for over 2 yrs., which is why I'm not optimistic on her doing anything on her own.

I will pass on the words a vet told me on my first post here. Your "SHE" count is ~33. SHE will do what SHE wants to do, whether you know about it or not. So if SHE leaves you for another man or woman? What are you going to do and who will you be? If it's all still up to what "SHE" wants, then play your video games in peace while she's away, let her enjoy Chad or Chaz and be the BP guy she can depend on to always be there for her whenever she wants you. If you want the RP solution, you know "she…

Very solid advice. I admit though, on the sex side, when my wife is in that zone the last thing I want to do is have sex with her as it's the biggest turn off. I hate looking at her and I'm still working on just not getting in her frame and maintaining mine. It's definitely a muscle I'm going to need to learn to use as I have on occasion, and things went exactly as you described.

I agree and I'm very glad to see this thread started. While I've made great progress personally since discovering RP, I know many of the solutions to problems are on a collision course with my faith (e.g. spinning plate, divorce w/o adultery in marriage). I must say, it has added a bit more flavor in my bible study. Reading about the lives of many of the men in an RP vs. BP sort of way and the results of their decisions gives me, even more insight and reverence for how God has made us and the im…

This might be the best post I've ever read on MRP, or maybe because it hits me at the right time. My wife is a SAHM and has been diagnosed with some borderline mental disorders (your comments nailed this issue as well). Dealing with her "absent queen" attitude brought me here to MRP six months ago. I'm just now getting past my anger phase I've been the primary homeschool educator of all of our kids for 15 yrs. while working, and I've been struggling with what could happen if this marriage blows …

I'll 2nd getting T-levels checked as I'm surprised more talk isn't on here about it (I've searched old threads as well) and it is vital to the lift/vitality/dread etc. philosophy. We won't get out and do any of those if our hormones are out of whack or too low. Even if a man pounds the steel and diets, the slow progress for many of us here over 40 will be very discouraging once past the newbie gains...and I've been clanking steel since my mid-20s so I'm well past those. Overall, IMO, you can't t…

I second you needing to read No More Mr. Nice Guy immediately. Start tonight before bed. If you're really ready for what it says, you will look back at this post and not even believe that you are playing mental gymnastics with this drama. If you're not ready for it, then get ready, cause more "exciting times" are yet in store. Asking if you were cheating probably wasn't dread, it was playing various cards to see what would work. You're trying to think logically like she meant what she said, inst…

Thanks for the tips! We've been navigating this issue for many years as our family of six used to live in 900 sq. ft., so the kids heard everything, and I just always said, "So. What do you think it was like when folks had 10 kids and lived in tents or cabins? I bet they heard and saw even more then!" I also told my daughter that one day, she's going to be very glad to know that her parents had an active sex life because the alternative disrupts her entire life, not just her sleep. One thing I'v…

Great post and something I've been upping in my bedroom as well, esp. after going through SGM. Quick question though since you mentioned kids: have you found ways to spank w/o the kids hearing everything in the house? We have a whip (or even my hand) that's loud and it kills the immersion for my wife. She gets embarrassed the next morning when even my teenage daughter who doesn't sleep well says, "I heard you and dad and are you okay?" While I'm frank about "husband/wife time" with the kids, the…

Thanks guys, I needed this chin-check. I actually wrote this while undergoing a shit-test last night...it definitely was a victim puke. I held frame, didn't get into my emotions (I guess I did here, but not to her for a change), and got up this morning feeling 10x better and ended up going for a drive and hike solo with no kids. I also went back into NMMNG. Chap. 7, that starts with, "I'm a victim of her dysfunction." I'm definitely the "enmesher nice guy". That pattern started long before I met…

I like hitting the road, museums, etc.. I just hit Trip Advisor and found nearly 70 spots I'd like to visit without feeling like I gotta be "good dad" and take the kids or her, and just focus on being with "me", something I haven't done since I was 19!

Got approved to the main sub, as I tried here first but didn't know I had to have my account for a few days first (created new one for posting for identity purposes). Received a few good responses to: a.) Get all of this out of her frame because b.) She hasn't been officially diagnosed. This is good as I already planned to treat all conversations as though they are her self-proclaimed issues. No diagnosis, so no problem exists...only excuses.

Definitely needed this as I'm feeling the same way and wondered what was wrong. Wife goggles were already cloudy but I guess completely gone as well. But I'm working through SGM as well and it's helping.

Thanks, this is definitely an area I'm learning to lead in and not handle for her. She's not been diagnosed as all the primary doc would do is prescribe Wellbutrin and refer to a specialist for the testing. She hasn't made the appointment in over 2 months. So I'm only going by her speculation and the similarity in the traits that I've researched.
