Depending on how the lesson was taught would make a big difference. I mean if they outline all the laws of the school's state regarding rape so as to clear up any gray area for these students then it's still worthwhile. For all we know there may have been precedents at that school like several ongoing rape cases that led to this. Any event which teaches things 18 year old kids may not be explicitly aware of is a plus, assuming that is the information being conveyed in this lesson.

This is a very "us vs them" attitude. Would it be so outlandish to believe that maybe pushover people get treated that way, regardless of gender? Maybe don't be such a doormat and try to rationalize perspectives of people as individuals. This post as well as any post about gender roles in dating is immature. People are all just people. Stop lumping us all into categories that you've made up based upon your experience of letting potential mates treat you like shit.

Girl here. I understand your frustration and just want to add a small distinction. I am in no way denying that there are female rapists, despite the fact that there are many fewer reports. I think that people don't know how their allegation of rape on the part of a female perp would be perceived by law enforcement/society etc, so they often don't report those types of rape, skewing the results of these types of data. But at the same time, it is important to recognize that a great deal of this ra…

I'll agree that the top post is unacceptable. But to be fair, if a girl who is knowingly unable to defend herself if someone were to attack/assault her is in a desolate kind of area, where there would be few people to intervene, she has to be cautious with everyone. Including but not limited to rich, white guys. You're taking it too personally. She would act differently if there were more people around. Although I do understand your frustration.

I am a girl and I would want to sign a prenuptual agreement. Just to make sure that if everything ended unexpectedly poorly, I could at least get out without my SO's friends calling me a gold-digger or any such term. I don't know if I could take someone seriously as a partner if they were so unrealistic that they thought it would "kill the romance". If you each leave with what you came with, property-wise, that is a fair agreement.

I see where you are going with the edit but for a lot of women the issue is physically carring the fetus. There is nothing about the idea of pregnancy that I find appealing. I liken it to hosting a parasite. It sounds alien to me. I do not want to go through that. Forcing someone to do that is messed up.

I wouldn't say it ends at all for some people. My best friend got raped by a Navy guy, suffers tremendous PTSD, worked for 2 years to get it to a trial, could only get one in a NAVY court. This jury consisted only of NAVY men. not a single woman. defense calls her entire family racist bigots and the guy gets off scot free. months later she was allowed to retreive all of her data (it was like 9 binders of documents) and it was grossly obvious that the Navy fucked her too. Rape doesn't really end.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
