This excludes males with down syndrome.

I don't agree here. Once we start dividing who gets to have a say by sex, it doesn't end. Imagine a mother who does not want to circumcise her newborn not getting a say if her husband decides he wants to circumcise. I could only support depriving a specific attribute of a say if that attribute is "not involved".

Does that matter in the slightest? They can claim not to follow those words any more, but they were apparently still the words of God. So were the abhorrent actions stated in the old testament not evil then? Id argue they still were, regardless of whether it was the norm then or not.

By the way she communicates it is likely she is also barely past being a teenager, if not still one. And if not, she is too immature to bother trying to have a text conversation with.

What people don't seem to realize is everyone has privilege. Literally everyone. Its just a matter of what context you're speaking in. Failing to realize that and cherrypicking the contexts where X group has more privilege than Y group, and suddenly everyone is the enemy.

Yeah, it specifically remains neutral. There's no problem here. Even in the graphic behind them both the man and woman were being physical.

The mod in that thread has a very obvious power issue. Sucks to see once good subs be managed by that type of person. Another poster was right on the money...ban the disrespectful comments and drama. The topic is objectively related to sex, that can't be argued. Over-reaching is all it is.

Just make sure there are some women there, since men obviously cant be trusted around children that aren't theirs without supervision.

That's literally the point.

That's quite obviously NOT what he is implying. He just said don't be all gung-ho supporting him as a person, regardless of this specific instance a good thing happening. That's not to say this dude is or is not deserving of support, I've never heard of him before this. But don't exaggerate what he's saying to make a point.

I'm happy to hear others standing up against it, it's a bit sad to see how common his mindset is. I can't blame people saying what they do about this sub with people like that here. This kind of space is too important to ruin it with that kind of behavior. It makes us all look bad.

I don't think blatant sexism is appropriate in any space, even here. We can make our points without resorting to that kind of behavior. It hurts us all in the long run.

I agree that this is very often the case. I notice you didn't have to stoop to claiming that this is a guarantee in 100% of cases like the other gentleman, which is what I took issue with. There's no need to be mirrors of the hardcore feminists, but on men's side. They don't help their side when they bash all men as if they are incapable of something solely because of their sex. People like the original commenter here are just as bad. He is confirming their mindsets with his kind of behavior. We…

Not sure if you're quite aware of the irony here. You are literally the person you hate. Using terms like "femsplaining" like its candy and making sweeping blanket statements about all women...you are those people. Just on the other side of the aisle. With people like you around, it's no wonder why this sub is viewed the way it is. What a shame. This is why we can't have nice things.

So you are retracting your original statement I take it? If so, I'll gladly take back my accusation. But backpedaling a few comments in doesn't absolve you of making the claim in the first place, and it was an objectively sexist statement. Resorting to ad hominem attacks doesn't really help you here either.

I haven't defended anything. That's just you jumping to conclusions. All I've done is point out your sexist, flawed generalization for what it was. To imply that 100% of boys raised by single mothers are incapable of a raising a child that isn't a criminal or "inept" is a despicable mindset that you should be ashamed of. People like you are the ones who give the impression to others that this sub is a cesspool of women hate. Is there a problem? Of course. Do single mothers have a disadvantage in…

Blanket generalizations are fun. Especially when they're wrong.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
