She was never your girl, it was just your turn. You'll recover brother.

Mine does this when I refuse to play in the sandbox she expects me to be and I pit up more boundaries.

We are swimming in the same pond, bro. How you cope, you ask? Simple: Your ex isn't special. She is ordinary. Everything you stated we all have experienced. It's nothing new. Enjoy your peace. Start eating right and maximize your time with your kids. Do not give a fuck about her and grey rock her as soon as you can.

The 3 points you stated sounds exactly like my ex. Claims she didn't cheat, but is with a guy she worked with for 10 years. OK PAL.

Keep busy. Whatever you do, don't just sit around. She wants a divorce? Run with it. Don't waste your time trying to save it because it will just get you used and you'll be wasting your time.

I got to the third paragraph about the other man and stopped reading simply because it's the same story over and over again that we all go through. It's like a script: Women do not ask for divorce unless they have another man/backup plan. Very rarely do they leave a relationship/marriage and go live on their own. They need constant male validation. You aren't alone. Play nice, but grey rock her and forget her dude. She was never your woman, it was just your turn.

Everything I've read on the sub she has thrown at me, word for word. It's like a script. As if they all have this language programmed into them that us men literally don't give a shit about.

Thanks for this advice. Things like this to read on a dreadful rainy day are really good, bright reminders. No.4 is something though as women more often than not jump right into the next thing before wrapping up what they're trying to get out of.

I'm embarrassed at myself, too. I did whatever she said and demanded and I obliged to keep the family together. All for not. But im over the hump and now I realize it's for the better and she isn't a person I want to be with.

Mine did similar stuff. She thought we would have this great, platonic, coparenting relationship. Encouraged me that I would be fine on my own and would even find someone that had all the same interests as me. Was super nice through the initial part of our seperation. (If she ever sees this I will say right now, I did mess up and wasn't always the best). The last 3 years, though, were absolute torture. I simped through it all. But, she used me, cheated on me, left me, abandoned me, and when I ne…

LOL it's this, totally this. My ex even suggested her and I go out and celebrate our divorce together. Absolutely insane. She thought we could be friends and sit together at games and functions. She thought wrong. We now only communicate once a week through email and if we are in the same place I don't even speak let alone acknowledge. She broke up our family and monkey branched to a new guy before anything is even finalized after we had, I would say, an average marriage. Not bad, but not great …

My heart goes out to you. Same exact thing happened to me. Never thought she would. Seperated, still tried. It got me used, cheated on, abandoned and nearly lost my life because of it. Forget her and never speak to her again. She's just another human.

Women today don't value marriage like men do. You are right, she's doing you a favor. Not sure how old you are, but if you're in your 30s I'm not surprised. It's happening to everyone.

Mine has already 'moved on' to her AP and introduced him to our kids in unde 1 year. A story I have read here many times repeatedly. The next chapter I read about is after a few years they try to come back, like OP. That's a day that I hope never comes.

Mine was doing this for a quite a bit. Even though 95% of the time it was about our child, most of the time it would be something that didn't need to be said as if she was just trying to keep in contact about something. If you're not friends, cut her loose. Email/app only. Tell her to stop trying to keep you close and anything is simply transactional. May tale a minute but it'll work. You're probably seen as some sort of safety net.

I spent two years simping and doing whatever I could to save my marriage. Did everything she said. Changed myself so much that I lost myself. You thought you knew her but the person she is now was just waiting to come out. Because you still care about her and probably always will. One thing I've prided on myself is I never talk shit about my ex to anyone, not even myself, and I stop anyone from doing it to me. Just makes you a bigger man. You're not wrong if you put your friend in his place, even if he's right. Just because it's correct doesn't mean it needs to be said.

I am of the belief, that ever since COVID, a drastic shift in society happened. Everyone, especially women, are out for themselves. They will literally sacrifice their family and break up the home all for their happiness and theirs only. No fucks given about anyone else. This is especially true for women who their 30s. I'm not sure if it's just this sub oversaturating the market that everyone is getting divorced, but it seems to be on the uptick and it's just sad. Nobody, especially women, want …

All it did was get.me used but I was trying to save my marriage and keep my family together. Now? I went through this. Separated at the end of 2022. She still had me doing things around the house. Eventually we ended up as roommates again cause it was easier. Whenever she needed me to take care of her, I was there. When the shoe was on the other foot, nope. Even was intimate a handful of times, no reciprocation. Then I got into a serious accident in January. She was great in the hospital, but once I got back home I felt like a burden. Sparing the details, she threw me out 2.5 weeks later. I'…

One thing I've noticed is, while everyone's situation is different and unique to them, the core problems that led to divorce and how women build themselves up to decide are pretty much all the same. It's like there's some sort of template for them to quiet quit, call you a narcissist, cheat, file and take your money. Hang in there. We all know how you feel and some days are harder than others.

I think everyone has narcissistic traits but I feel the term gets overblown. Not saying people cant be full blown narcissistic, but I'm sure there's a lot or people that aren't aware of their behavior being wrong, weather it's narcissism, emotionally abusive, etc. Whatever it may be. People can change if they want to, but by the time they realize, their partner is checked out and apologies dont hold weight. Thanks for the app name.

What app do you use for communications? I've heard it mentioned several times. I tried grey rocking myself. We have 1 daughter. I asked she doesn't call my direct anymore and no verbal communication. I don't always respond to texts, either because I don't feel I need to or just dont have the energy. Then I forget. She complains about that so I asked her to move communications to Facebook Messenger so she can see that I read them aaaand that doesn't work for her.

It absolutely is. I had one buddy take his wife back after they divorced. He said it's obviously not the same and sometimes he wishes he didn't. I know there's others that have done the same. Typical woman. I'm going through divorce right now. Long story short, I was pedestrian struck by an SUV on the highway in January. 3 weeks later she threw me out while I was disabled. When we seperated she made this list of terms and conditions I needed to adhear by. Still paying mortgage on a house i wasn't in, remodeling the bathroom, all the home maintenance, family dinners, and eventually work up to going on dates once a month. We would reevaluate in a year. You're hanging on to the nostalgia. It's tough, I get it. I'm in the same boat too. And then I remember she's dating someone else and it just makes me sick. What has helped me is just go grey rock. Right. We as men are wired to provide and fix things when they are broken. In my former marriage, long hours at work where I'd have 4 days off per month while she had off every weekend really ate at me simply because I like a clean, organized home and on her weekends off while I was working shit just wasn't getting done. "It's okay for things to be messy." And I don't see it that way. So instead of communicating that, I just expected it and would come home pissed off, sometimes yelling, sometime…

Holy shit what a post. If there's one thing I've learned is, we as men make plenty of mistakes. We can be abusive when we don't even know it and then women check out way before we know and when we find out it's too late. Everyone's situation is different and unique to them but I cannot help but see some true parallels when comparing ALL cases. Woman can truly be the Devil's God.
