People also don't realize that a circumcision can be botched and have permanent effects. Like literally being unable to climax during sex and not being able to have children because of it. I don't know if I like it or not. I mean, I'm sure there are plenty of actual stories of women triumphing without making up some kind of fanfic. Why not Joan of Arc or something? The story of Medusa is kind of a bad example. Future children will see the statue, look up the story, and see that Perseus defeated Medusa, not the other way around and think the statue is wrong. I think good art reflects in some way what has been, what is, or what could be. Not what could have been.
